Pinkie's New Feather Party: The Masquerade Ball!

The night is finally here! Pinkie Pie and friends have been working hard to get everything absolutely perfect. The Battle Dome has been done up to look like a grand ballroom, complete with dance hall and dining area. A small, but elegantly decorated stage is situated in the middle of the dance hall, and is equipped with microphones and speakers for anyone willing to perform. Otherwise, the dome is set up to play songs on request.

The dining area is equipped with a buffet-style dinner selection, filled with food contributed by various donators, highlighted by a large cake at the central table, which is then surrounded by smaller tarts, pies and pastries. Wine, champagne, and other choice drinks are available from ice chests near the buffet line.

Finally, since it was so popular with the last party, the night will be ended with a fireworks display over the dome. Afterwards, Pinkie Pie will be going around making sure everyone gets home safely, before returning to the dome to start cleaning up.

Note: Like Pinkie's last party, this one has a theme: a Masquerade Ball. Everyone who enters must wear a mask, and keep it on for the entirety of the party. If you haven't picked one out yourself, Pinkie would be more than happy to provide one for you.

Helios is going to be in some interesting garb for this little party. Perhaps it was a change in his mood that he decided to wear what he was. An elegant suit vest with matching black suit pants and a coat, along with this dragon mask which shimmers and its colors alternate between black, silver, and dark blue (Something like this). He also has a clipped on tail for added effect, and it might be enchanted to look real. Helios does like going all out for these sorts of things. But this time he isn't a alone. Accompanying him tonight is a little baby dragon who walks alongside him, wearing his own little get up. A medieval helmet, with a red cape draped over his shoulders as well and there's a small little toy sword too. Luminair looks happy and excited to be here, he even enjoys the little costume too. Happy chirps will follow Helios where ever he goes tonight, and anyone who walks up to him tonight will get a happy little dragon as well.

Helios will just be relaxing at the buffet table, getting some food for himself and Luminair. Anyone is more than welcome to speak to him. Also he'll be making the rounds as well jut to get to talk to any new feathers he might have missed.

I saw Helios distracted at the buffet table, and I couldn't pass up the opportunity. So I reached out one hand and pointed it dramatically at the back of his head, leaning over to quietly whisper.

"It is time."

Harry you are going to give this man a heart attack one day. But today is not that day. Instead Helios just almost spills his punch on his rather nice outfit. He also jumps a little and turns, partly wide eye, and then lets out a laugh. He knows that voice.

"Oh!" Harry. Gods. You are going to be the death of him one day. No pun intended. Grim reaper aside. Helios is just sheepishly laughing.

"Time for, um, the party is what I hope you mean." Because one death god in this place is totally enough bro.

"Geez, sorry if I startled you."

... That was funnier in my head. Now I just felt like an ass.

"Like the costume, though. Luminair's little helmet just makes it."

[folklorist]

"O-Oh no. It's fine, really. You know me." Always a bit jumpy when he doesn't mean to be. He looks a bit apologetic behind his mask. It's true, he can't even deny it. Helios smiles and nods looking down at Luminair who has now eased up alongside Harry. The little dragon is just starring up at him, tail wagging.

Luminair is waiting for pets Harry, don't keep him waiting for too long!

"Everything looks amazing, doesn't it? I haven't been to a masquerade in quite awhile." He looks over the room with a smile tugging gently at the corners of his mouth.

"Soleil how did you ever find something that would fit little Luminair?" Adele's voice is light, bubbly from good humor and champagne. She may have had a few glasses already, or it was just Pinky's exuberance rubbing off on her. She couldn't say. A lightly clawed hand reaches out to scritch the underside of the little dragon's chin.

"Such a handsome little dragon. And your father does not look so bad tonight either."

Helios turns and regards Adele with a brief stare. She looked stunning to say the least. It was very fitting. He'll smile and laugh, shaking his head, and waving her off lightly with a hand. "I-I, um, tweaked it just a bit. It was bigger..." but magic, Adele, the answer is always magic. Helios' face might also go a bit red at that compliment. He is not used to them, okay? Luminair will chirp happily and purr at those scritches. His tail wagging happily as his orange eyes turn blue.

"You, ah, look lovely yourself. A dragoness. It's very beautiful."

"Magic? Oh you cheat!" She doesn't mean it- she can't when the result is a very dashing little dragon and a very pleased father. It's just too adorable to complain about at all. With one last little pat to the baby dragon's chin Adele rises to her feet and offers Helios a hand.

"Inspired by something my mother did at an autumnal Gala years ago. I am glad you approve."

Luminair lets out a happy little chirp and walks around Adele and Helios, examining Adele's lovely dress and gown. The faux tail he has attached to his back flicks, realistically behind him. Almost in that nervous way that is so very him, and so very telling of his mindset.

"Well it's-it's gorgeous. I-I think she'd be very proud of you p-putting this together." He gets slightly tense when Adele offers her his hand. Green eyes behind the mask looking worriedly and a little surprised.

"I-I, um, I shouldn't..." because the last touch he had inflicted on Adele had caused her to see horrible visions. Not to mention Helios is...well, Helios.

[Oh hai Helios, have an Estelle approaching you.]

That is a very interesting mask. You look quite handsome this evening, sir.

[She hasn't seen Helios around in a while so she doesn't quite recognize him yet. Plus she barely knows him.]

Helios just blinks behind his mask at the compliment. His face going a tad bit red. He is sorta getting used to compliments, sorta. He gives Estelle a smile and nods to her. "Oh! Estelle I apologize for not recognizing you sooner. It's um, me, H-Helios." He'll lift up his mask briefly to show her.

He gives a warm smile as a little dragon at his feet chirps in happy greetings too. "Ah and this is Luminair. I apologize, he's quite excited about all of this. But, um, he's perfectly harmless he won't do anything to you." The baby dragon will just wag his tail happily as he goes over to Estelle to sniff her. Do not mind the baby dragon!

Oh! Helios it's so good to see you!

[She seems genuinely pleased to see him. After all, he was one of the people that first helped her when she arrived in Luceti. She's been in and out of the library, but the girl being so consumed in books, she's probably missed him frequently. Her attention then turns down to the baby dragon. (OOC: What does he look like anyway?)]

Oh my, he's so cute!

[Estelle bends down to get better acquainted with the little guy, allowing her to sniff him. She'll even try to give him a pat on the head.]

"I've, um, seen you in the library. But you, well, I suppose I didn't want to interrupt you in your reading." Because she did look rather engrossed in her books, and Helios knows how that is when someone knocks you out of a very engrossing book!

Luminair will sniff as Estelle gets closer. When she pats him on the head he will chirp happily, tag wagging and all, his orange eyes shifting to a happy bright pink. Just so he can match Estelle's color!

[A woman clad in green joins him at the buffet table, lifting her mask for just a moment to smile at him and the happy little dragon. Oh, Luminair, you are just so adorable!]

I didn't think I'd see you here tonight! Are you enjoying yourself so far?

Luminair is just killing everyone with cute. It is Helios' secret weapon, clearly. Helios blinks looking over at Syre. Her green eyes matching her dress. She looked lovely, really. Helios smiles and nods.

"Oh, um, I-I...had some pushing." Saori is a very hard goddess to turn down. He rubs the back of his neck and nods. "I-I am, actually. Everything is lovely and everyone looks fantastic."

Well, I suppose I should find them, and thank them. [There's a soft laugh, and the green-and-gold back is on her face again soon after.] You really do look spectacular, Helios.

And you! [Here she turns to Luminair with a melodramatic little point, and gives his head a light little pat.] You are always so cute! I just want to take you home with me!

[ Helios laughs sheepishly at the compliments. Good thing that mask is in place because his face is kinda red. ] Oh, ah, y-you do as well. That's a very lovely dress Syre.

[ Luminair squeaks at the impromptu pointing and then grins. He purrs happily at the pets. ] Luminair is certainly enjoying his first masquerade. I think he likes all the attention, don't you?

[ It's not said in a chiding way, but more of a loving, caring, happy way. ]

Haruhi (her hair is longer but oh well) is twirling her parasol as she makes her way over to Helios. Her mask is simple, and given how elaborate Helios's attire is, she actually doesn't recognize him immediately. She does, however, realize there is a small dragon there.

...Her gaze fixates on it curiously.

Helios isn't minding his surroundings too much, not that he really would keep his eyes off Luminair, but his back is turned towards Haruhi. Luminair will be looking up at Helios expectantly, his tail wagging happily underneath the draping cape, as he waits for some food. Luminair is a growing baby dragon so, it's only natural that he should eat a lot. Helios will bend down and set some food on a plate for him.

"Don't eat too fast, Luminair. There's plenty of food." A softly chiding voice comes from Helios. Luminair gives him a happy, acknowledging chirp, in reply before munching on carrot sticks, among other things. Luminair might notice the gaze, since his head turns towards Haruhi and he lets out a curious little chirp. His eyes turning from orange to purple. Helios might look up at Haruhi as well...he might not recognize her right away, but he'll stick venture a guess.

"Haruhi?"

"Yeah, it's me!" She answers that cheerily by force of habit, twirling the parasol again.

She feels she shouldn't be surprised Helios had a little dragon, like she would have known that from somewhere else, but she can't place quite where from.

"Ah! It's nice to see you here at the party. Did the SOS brigade help with the food? It's delicious if they did." He smiles and straightens, looking down at Luminair once before back at Haruhi.

"Oh! I...um, don't think you've met Luminair." The little dragon will just happily wag his tail as he continues to eat. He is entirely focused on food consumption, don't mind him!

"Nice vest." A young man in a suit and blue/white mask said, before looking at the dragon mask as well. "Mask, too."

Despite his lack of headphones, Kouki's voice should be recognisable. The young demon king saw Luminair earlier, whose presence helped confirmed Helios's identity for him.

Helios looks back over his shoulder at the familiar voice, and the compliment. "O-Oh! Kouki. Th-thank you. I-I wish I could...take credit for picking it out..." but fashion really isn't his thing, especially this flashy. It's almost too elegant and nice for him.

"It's nice to see you here. Are you having a good time?"

"Then I'd assume a friend of yours picked it for you." Helios never strikes him as someone who follows the fashion trends. Kouki thought he'd focus more on practicality and comfort over looks.

"Yep." He nods, smiling a bit. "It's kind of fun to be in a party like this with all the masks we're wearing."

"Ah, you assume correctly." Helios muttered with a brief sheepish grin. He is very easy to figure out in these terms, isn't he?

"It is! It makes things very interesting actually. And everyone looks fantastic with their masks and outfits." He smiles brightly as he looks out towards everyone at the party.
