The night is finally here! Pinkie Pie and friends have been working hard to get everything absolutely perfect. The Battle Dome has been done up to look like a grand ballroom, complete with dance hall and dining area. A small, but elegantly decorated stage is situated in the middle of the dance hall, and is equipped with microphones and speakers for anyone willing to perform. Otherwise, the dome is set up to play songs on request.

The dining area is equipped with a buffet-style dinner selection, filled with food contributed by various donators, highlighted by a large cake at the central table, which is then surrounded by smaller tarts, pies and pastries. Wine, champagne, and other choice drinks are available from ice chests near the buffet line.

Finally, since it was so popular with the last party, the night will be ended with a fireworks display over the dome. Afterwards, Pinkie Pie will be going around making sure everyone gets home safely, before returning to the dome to start cleaning up.

Note: Like Pinkie's last party, this one has a theme: a Masquerade Ball. Everyone who enters must wear a mask, and keep it on for the entirety of the party. If you haven't picked one out yourself, Pinkie would be more than happy to provide one for you.

She took his sarcasm in stride, knowing that was just how he was. At least he was enjoying himself a little. That he agreed at all still surprised her a bit, herself. But she was glad she asked.

"Clearly you must have missed your calling. But at least you have a career to fall back on, in the long run."

[snikting]

"That'll be the day, won't it?"

Not like he wasn't used to tights already, with the kind of outfits the X-Men wore.

[calmbeforethe]

"I'll make sure to have front row seats."

[snikting]

He msirked. "Don't count on it, 'Ro. You'll be down there with me. No chance of me passin' up a chance at you in one of them numbers."

[calmbeforethe]

"Oh? Should I take that to mean that you wouldn't mind doing this again?" She raised an eyebrow at him, smiling.

[snikting]

"Don't start puttin' words in my mouth."

[calmbeforethe]

"Oh, was I doing that again? My apologies, Logan." She doesn't sound too sorry at all.

[snikting]

He snorted. Sometimes he could be like a child. "You don't sound sorry."

[calmbeforethe]

"Well, perhaps the idea of wearing 'one of them numbers' and dancing with you appeals to me." She gave him a smile and a look that dared him to say otherwise.

[snikting]

He smirked in turn. "Maybe I'd prefer just you were in one of those numbers."

Though he realized Ororo in a ballerina outfit and him just watching was all a bit too strange.

[calmbeforethe]

She chuckled, thinking that she should have seen that coming.

"Oh, no. I would only consider it if you are dressed up with me, Logan." She bowed her head. "... Though I suppose you're right; we wear enough tights as it is, already." Her own uniform's bodysuit wasn't extremely skintight, but it was definitely more than a little snug on her.

[snikting]

"Ain't that the truth. 'Sides, the dancin' and music aside, a man can 'ppreciate bein' in a place like this. 'specially if it gets you dressin' up like this."

[calmbeforethe]

Logan, paying her a compliment! Will wonders never cease.

"Well, that's one good thing about Luceti, isn't it? I don't have much reason to dress up like this at all, at home."

[snikting]

"Peril of bein' glorified babysitters."

[calmbeforethe]

"I have to admit, babysitting was not what I had in mind when I agreed to join Charles." It certainly wasn't in the job description, anyway.

[snikting]

"Same. Still can't believe Chuck made it happen. A guy like me ain't exactly what you'd call a role model for kids."

[calmbeforethe]

"I wouldn't say that. They look up to you anyway, there must be something they see in you worth looking up to."

[snikting]

"The hope of me giving them a day off, maybe."

[calmbeforethe]

Ororo just smiles indulgently.

"They'll appreciate you working them so hard in the long run."

[snikting]

"Yeah, I hear ya." He knew Rogue, at least, already had benefited from it. in Luceti. "But the song's over. An' you owe me a game of pool."

[calmbeforethe]

"A promise is a promise," Ororo lets her hands linger on his shoulders just a second too long before she gently disengages herself from his grip.

She gives him a teasing smile. "But that wasn't too bad now, was it?"

[snikting]

"I'll heal."

It wasn't that bad at all. Fact of the matter was, he enjoyed it. But Logan wouldn't be Logan if he just admitted any of that.

[calmbeforethe]

"I'm sure you will. But thank you for indulging me, Logan." She smiles, quite pleased with how the night has gone. She never would have thought to expect this to happen back home, after all.

[snikting]

"Don't be thankin' me just yet. A deal's a deal."

As they made their way to the exit, he eagerly removed his mask.

[calmbeforethe]

Ororo chuckled, lowering her own mask.

"Just don't expect too much out of me. I haven't played billiards in years."
