["Rose" had given up on finding a permutation for "Elizabeth" that she liked. She'd picked the first random word that came to mind in rebellion of it, and was far more satisfied with the result, even if it still didn't feel quite right.

When she wasn't sleeping, or trying to figure out what was going on, or meeting new people or playing her guitar... she was at the Item Shop. Something about this place seemed so familiar... and there was something satisfying about keeping it tidied up.

So that was exactly what she was doing right now - sorting and ordering shelves in the shop.]

[Amelia debated over what to do with her gun for awhile. Changing out the clothes had been an easier choice, but now people were saying not to blindly trust the cards. It didn't make much sense to her not to, though: whoever wrote it was right about singing and dancing both, as Amelia's discovered for herself. And why would someone tell her that the clothes and gun she found that first day weren't hers if they actually were?

Ultimately though, it boiled down to the fact that she didn't like having the gun in the room. She didn't know how to use it, and there was a baby in the house. It didn't feel right to have it, so eventually Amelia makes her way to the item shop, carrying the shotgun and a bag with the ammunition she'd found.]

Hello there. [There's a woman about her age doing chores, so Amelia could only guess that she worked there. She held up the rifle for the woman to see.] I wanted to see about turning this in?

["Rose" turned at the greeting stopped short when she saw the gun -- oh.]

You don't want it anymore?

[Rose notes the bead at the end of the pommel. Personalized. Loads with a clip too - okay, that was a bit freaky.]

Sure. I can take it off your hands. I'll put it someplace safe.

[That's good enough for Amelia. She offers the gun over, followed by the bag she's carrying. Inside is a fair amount of ammunition, all for the same gun.]

Thanks. I wasn't sure what else to do with it.

[Heavy bag, Rose. Must reload in clips...

Amelia. [And with her hands empty, Amelia holds out one to Rogue. Handshakes are par for the course with introductions.] At least according to the card. What about you?

Accordin' ta the card? [She reached out her gloved hand to shake Amelia's] Elizabeth. Goin' by Rose.

[She doesn't like the name. It's too long.]

Nice ta meetcha.

[Tony heads to the item shop himself, near the end of the week. He had too many itches he couldn't scratch, too many pieces of himself that didn't fit together. He doesn't have all the variables. He doesn't have a complete picture. He's looking for hints anywhere he can, and a shop full of people's things seems like a good place to do so.

He barely pays any notice to the girl sorting the shelves at first. He does notice the odd streak in her hair, however. It's unusual. Almost familiar. But he doesn't ask about it.]

[This shelf done, "Rose" turned to head out to the next - oh, a customer. She tucked a strand of white behind her ear with a gloved hand.]

Ya need any help findin' something?

That's the big question, isn't it? [He mutters, mostly to herself.] Umm--I don't suppose things around here come in with those little "Property of so-and-so" labels on them, do they?

[touchofrogue]

Not that I've noticed. [She gave him a more direct look.] Ya lookin' for something in particular?

[Particular...where could he even start?]

High-tech items. Might be worth a look.

[touchofrogue]

High tech? [Those words aren't very familiar to her, for some reason.

Still.]

Did ya try by hardware?

I was thinking more like electronics. [But considering the tools he found upstairs...] But I'd like to see those as well.

[touchofrogue]

There are no electronics in the shop - at least, I'm pretty sure. I mean, if electronics are things that run on electricity, the only thing you've really got going for you here is lightbulbs. And that's in the hardware section. [She pointed] over there.

[alloys]

[Hmm. Well, it might be worth a look anyway. He meanders over.]

You wouldn't happen to have an idea where you'd find something like that, would you? Electronics, I mean. In the village.

[touchofrogue]

["Rose" shook her head.]

No. Sorry. This just doesn't seem like that kinda place.

[alloys]

[And he's coming up short again. Still, he picks around the hardware section, seeing if anything triggers a memory.]

You don't sound like you know it very well. [Fellow amnesiac?]

She shrugged, "Gawd knows, I'm told I know it better. But I couldn't have even told ya that this place wasn't our home until someone let me know a few days back."

He nodded, having heard similar things himself. "So I've heard. Kind of makes you wonder--why some of us got hit and some didn't."

It's driving him mad, honestly. Not being able to remember.

She paused and glanced back at him, "Did they tell ya 'bout the experiments?"

[alloys]

Experiments? His brow knitted. "No, they definitely left that out. What about experiments?"

"Well... from what I hear, they're kind of like this."
