[Lupin was in the Battle Dome again that day, conducting the rounds and investigations that had become customary for him. He was curious--and the little spiral bound notebook that he carried was filled with all of his notations. He spied the red head lounging in one of the chairs and offered a smile by way of greeting.

A red head like that? She was too attractive to not notice.]
risingshepard: Amusement. (Now this is interesting.)

[Oh, huh...it's Lupin. There's a surprise to her slow week--he'll get a little wave from her, and a smile in return.] Hey. You doing alright?
redjacketthief: @ narben (unsure-- what?)

[He furrowed his brows at the redhead for a moment before flipping through his notepad for a page to show her--and make further alterations.]

I don't remember anything. Can you help?

-Do I know you?

[He looked around the area for another face.

Help. Lupin might need an adult.]

[Huh? That voice sounds awfully familiar. Mordin had known that Shepard was somewhere in Luceti, but he wasn't sure the best way to approach her. He taps his chin for a moment. Perhaps Shepard decided to seek him out first. He calls out to her from the next room over.]

Doing just fine!
risingshepard: Side-eyeing you so hard. (So suspicious.)

[... Maybe she should've been a little specific with her greetings. Oops. Now she's got them both chiming in.] ...Yeah, of course I know you, Lupin. Why wouldn't I?
risingshepard: Smiling Shepard. (Not bad at all.)

Goddamnit I hate failediting and fixing stuff for better context.

[personal profile] risingshepard 2012-10-03 01:59 am (UTC)(link)
[Then she'll look to Mordin.] Good to hear. You need a hand getting set up?

[Not that she wasn't lazy in seeking Mordin out, but getting stresses out was her priority after what happened a few weeks back.]

redjacketthief: @ rerun (-jigen- got my back?)

That's fine~

[Lupin flapped the notebook around for emphasis, as if that explained anything, before he followed the redhead's gaze into the next room. The new voice had him intrigued, and he wondered if the two strangers knew each other.

...but this woman knew his name and was acting like they were acquainted. Lupin quickly altered another note.]

Do you have a name? How are we friends? Who is in there?

[He was rambling in written form in his curiosity, because this was information that he needed to know. Lupin willed his breath to slow against the tide of trepidation and racing thoughts of what else she could possibly know--like the truth. Though he wanted to have faith in what the card told him, a twist in his gut warned against such trust. 'Believe half of what you read and none of what people say'

--but this was a lead, and one that he had to explore.]

[He pokes his head around the corner, smiling wide.]

Evening, Shepard. I see you brought a friend.

[She'll peek back at Lupin again.] It's Shepard. It shouldn't be that easy to forget my name, or how you chimed in last July... [She contemplates what could have happened to his memory, and why he was all quiet vocally...then shrugs a little before turning to Mordin and getting off her seat. It was probably just her. She can ask about that when they've gotten past introductions, anyway.] Lupin, this is Mordin Solus, one of my world's tech experts.

risingshepard: Smiling Shepard. (Not bad at all.)

[personal profile] risingshepard 2012-10-03 05:22 am (UTC)(link)
[Then a bit of a grin to Mordin himself, as she motions to the thief.] Wouldn't say that I brought him here...more like he must've come along on his own for practice. This is Lupin, by the way...careful, he might just snatch something from your lab without you noticing.
redjacketthief: @ narben (derp-- not sure if right)

[personal profile] redjacketthief 2012-10-03 06:03 pm (UTC)(link)
[....

Not human.

That was the first thought that zipped through his hazy memory as he regarded Mordin for the first time, but he kept his respect and offered a short bow in return. He couldn't say how or why he did it--the card gave no hint--but for some reason it felt like it could work in that setting.

He pulled out two notes, one for each of the strangers. Mordin received this note while Shepard's said the following:]

it doesn't feel normal to not talk. do you have an explanation?

[Because he was wary, but any shred of information was better than none.]
hadtobeme: (Unimpressed)

[personal profile] hadtobeme 2012-10-07 01:04 am (UTC)(link)
"World's Greatest Thief"? [He scoffs.] Unlikely. Not in his condition.
risingshepard: Shepard, really nonplussed. Or just browing you. :| (Not amused.)

Okay maybe not

[personal profile] risingshepard 2012-10-13 08:21 am (UTC)(link)
[Hmm. Now that she looks at it, it is strange. Lupin's normally really mouthy--no, maybe that wasn't the right word for it. Talkative...yeah, that sounds better. It makes her quirk a brow.]

...A shift, maybe? I don't think there was ever a case where someone suddenly lost their voice, unless an accident was involved.

[Then she peeks at Mordin. Well, that didn't take long.] ...That obvious to you, huh?

redjacketthief: @ narben (unsure-- what?)

[personal profile] redjacketthief 2012-10-13 04:39 pm (UTC)(link)
[He raised an eyebrow at Shepard, hoping that it was indeed one of those Shifts that he heard about. Not having a voice was too annoying to be
'normal' for him--what ever normal amounted to in the absence of memories-- and he had seen no evidence of injury that would have caused it.

Mordin's comment, and Shepard's agreement, raised far more pressing questions:]

what are you two talking about?
