Twister!
Who: You!
What: WHOOSH
When: The 18th, at 5:23 PM.
Where: Through the village (seen on this map)
Summary: A tornado blows through Luceti! It's loud, windy, and dangerous. React?
Rating: B for Blustery
It had been an unusually warm day for October. Dark clouds loomed in the day and had been accompanied by strong winds. A strange green aura tinted the clouds in the west before it finally happened. It was loud. Deafeningly loud for those near it, like a freight train hurling itself through the sky. Dust and debris whipped up inside it and anything not securely fastened was pulled towards it, sometimes right off the ground. A tornado had formed in Luceti and it was moving fast. Faster than a person could run or follow.
The smart people would be staying inside. The not so smart? Hopefully they could handle it.
((I'd suggest checking this comment out to get an idea for how tornadoes work! A plotting thread exists here as well.)

[Voice] *away!*
I am not sure of where the stables are, are they on the north or the south end of the village? I believe the wind is more northerly.
[Voice] *away!*
[Voice]
[The gale winds pick up, and its not long before she lands on the stable roof.]
[Voice->Action]
[And blip there he is.]
[Action]
Is your house prepared? If you have pets or mortal roommates it may be wise for them to stay in a windowless room. I will do what I can to weaken the wind when it arrives, but that is the safest place for them.
[And down she hops]
It isn't a large tornado. Have you ever seen one before?
[Action]
Gregor and Adele are both in as safe a space as there is, much to the south.
I... have. But not in such proximity.
[Action]
[She shakes her head, breaking her train of thought. The power of the weather called to her, and she wanted nothing more than to let it rampage across the village. That, however, would endanger lives.]
Loki, you say your shield wavers when you are apart from it? Is it that you lack the power to keep it up at a distance?
[Action]
[Action]

[Action]
I can weaken the windspeed and draw off its energy. However, that energy needs to go somewhere, or I will lose control again. Do you think you can handle that?
[Action]
[And energy off of her should have the added benefit of not attempting to take over his mind.]
[Action]
[She plucks out a single long, dark strand and offers it]
[Action]
[Action]
[She does likewise, and makes a small band, slipping it around her finger. It is a fair exchange, and one she'll gladly offer to save the village a lot of trouble, but when all is said and done, she can't let him keep that power over her and is confident he feels likewise.]
Call forth your magics then, and let us get started.
[Action]
[Like much of what he does, it is a simple, subtle exercise of will. He has the hair as a connection to Saori. It's a simple matter of drawing a line between them, opening it. He's careful to keep the power from himself the bare minimum to keep the transmission open, the feeling of the energy surprisingly warm and inquisitive.]
Done. Go.
[Action] tl;dr actiony startup
Wind swirled under her feet and she began to float towards the cyclone that was rapidly heading to greet her. She could see others combating the wind, trying to slow it down, and feel other magical defenses being raised beneath her.
Approaching from the north, her feet planted wide on two whirlwinds, Saori's hands began to move in circles. Her fingers flew through a series of incredibly complex gestures as she swayed with the wind. Behind her, a blue white mandala flared to life, a single character emblazoned in the center of the circle. This was her element, manipulating the wind and commanding it. The role she was created to play.
Saori threw back her head, screaming in joy, and continued working her spell, power thrumming in the air around her as she tried to establish a link between the wind and herself. It was not her place to stop the wind, or even change its path. Weather was every bit as alive as she was, but to weaken it was but a small thing. That way the noble cyclone could continue on its way, but she could spare the town as much danger as possible.
With a howl of elation, the Daughter of Wind and Rain hurled her spell at the oncoming twister, the eerie light flashing between her and the wind. It struck, forming a link of magic between her and it, and to Loki far below, energy coursing through the conduit...]
[Action] And now you can basically just ignore him.
There was still quite a bit more than he knew what to do with.
He added another spell, something to sooth the horses. They weren't particularly resistant, and that took very little power as well.
It was, he realized, a matter of use the power, or potentially explode. He was set up to act as a conduit, not a battery. He needed something to do with it. He cast around for the next closest building - the community housing unit - and put another, much larger shield on that.
Well, if it meant he got to play the hero for the benefit of the mortals, fine. That was certainly better than letting his brain slowly cook like an egg, and it would ultimately act to his benefit were it noticed.
He stayed standing on the roof of the stables, wind whipping the hem of his coat, green-white light leaking out from under his eyelids.]
(OOC: Have now been told that the stables in question are about half a mile behind CH7, so just wanted to note that. It doesn't really change what Loki is doing, since a half mile is still within easy sight distance.)
