Who: Teachers, Students, anyone dropping in for the open classes, gatecrashers, etc
What: First Week of School

Classes run from 9 AM-roughly 2:30 PM, and the log can include before and after-school activities)

Summary: The new year of school is finally underway, with testing, a look into classes, and general interaction for all involved.

[Interactions are meant to be wide and varied!

For some sense of guidelines, Monday morning will be filled with tests, for new students and old students alike, until the lunch break. Students can talk before they begin or after they finish! There will be baked goods and lemonade as a treat to those who came in. If people need more time for the tests, they won't be allowed to leave the room with the others, though snacks will be made available for them as well.

The playground is open for after school or lunch break interactions.

All week long, the upper and lower grades will be pretty much mixed together until the grades are sorted out. Students are also encouraged to form study groups.

After that, the other classes - Music, Magic, and World Sharing - will continue on as usual, though Magic will presumably be more discussion based, especially for anyone with questions about the spirit's magic, and possible a few demonstrations, while World Sharing will again attempt to gather a list of places that they can explore in the battle dome during a later lesson.

On Tuesday the writing classes will be asked to turn in their book reports. Students are welcome to present them and ask questions of other students. The art class will be simple - taking an ordinary object and depicting it as something new, or in a new way.

Wednesday will be more of a normal class day - the few stragglers that haven't taken the test yet will be given an opportunity to do so.

Also, feel free to request anything specific or set up catch-all headers!

But really, just do what you want--these are just some suggestions as to what's going on, but they aren't the be-all-and-end-all of what you can do!]

[As with how the start of term has commenced every year, Monday morning will have students arriving to take either the placement tests or the review of last term tests to get an idea of where their abilities are and what still needs work.

There's time before and after the classes to talk - and even a lunch break! Just don't be caught talking during. Or cheating. Cheating on this test is silly.]

[He shrugs a little.] I wouldn't say it's that difficult to figure out. It just takes a little applying to piece together, is all.

A little, huh? [She squints at one of the math formulas.] You must be pretty smart to understand all this stuff so easily!

Teaching and learning go hand in hand.

...I have to admit, though, it still goes over my head at times, too.

I guess nobody can get everything.

[Hmm, she isn't really that interested in studying, but she knows that an education is important for getting a well-paying job. So she nods, determined.]

Do you think you could tutor me? You're in a more advanced class than I am, right? So you should already know everything I'm being taught.

[Yeah, Sora's been way too out of touch with school. Missing about a year and a half worth of stuff tends to hit you pretty hard. Having just fumbled through it, his face is on his desk taking a well earned nap. His exam is under his face with some drool on it and only half finished.

Guess who fell asleep?]

[...o-oh. The boy in front of him fell asleep. Did he finish his exam already? He kind of looked like he was having a hard time with it... He must be one of the newer students.]

[Well, his own test already finished, the least he can do is wake the guy up so he doesn't wind up sore from being hunched over his desk like that! He leans forward over his own desk and reaches out his hand to tap Sora on the shoulder.]

[And the tap on the shoulder jerks Sora awake as he lurches up.]

I'm awake!

[Oh wait, were people already gone? Looking over, he see's the person who woke him up.]

Oh, hi there.

[Ion jerks his hand back in surprise when Sora jumps up, but can't suppress a small chuckle. Did he not realize he fell asleep...?]

I hope I wasn't interrupting a good dream, but class is already over.

It is?

[Well he'll look at his exam. Oh boy...]

Aw man, I didn't even finish!

You didn't?

[Oh, maybe Ion should have tried waking him up sooner...]

Well, I suppose you could try asking Professor Raine for more time? I can't imagine she would have a problem with it.

You think she would be okay with that?

I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to ask. She's a very kind teacher, after all.

[ Ikki shows up with Aang and anyone else from her house / house 58 who plans to take the test. Soren the bird pokemon is also tailing her, although he's...not taking the tests, obviously. She's bouncy to start with, but as she goes through the tests she'll get progressively less so, and will be least bouncy after taking the math exam. 8| MATH.

Since it's a "where are you" test, there were definitely questions that she didn't get at all, and eventually she started drawing flowers in answer of math things she just...did not know, although first she would have written down random numbers. "Eventually" means when she hit anything beyond simple addition/subtraction/multiplication. Fractions in particular would have gotten increasingly baffled and frustrated stares. She got a 79 out of 400 in math, so, uh, Y E P.

Lemonade and baked goods will cheer her up, but yeah. Expect her to look uncharateristically unhappy immediately post-tests. Soren will probably be trying to cheer her up, too. ]

[Aang was probably just as peppy and excited while walking her to the exam, making sure to fire some practice questions along the way.

And once the test has ended, he wastes no time in finding her, with a plate containing a Katara-approved amount of brownies for her and a balloon bearing a rainbow image. He excitedly greets her without yet noting her unhappy appearance.]

[ congratulations on what? She is the worst at math ever, it is entirely tragic, okay. Soren personally thinks Ikki should cheer up and take those brownies now, but she sort of shuffles in place. ]

Yeah, on... on taking your test. [He holds the balloon towards her.] How did it go?

[ ...Oh wow she missed the rainbow balloon, give her a second to smile a little at that, although not as much as usual. ]

...I don't like math. [ she might be pouting. 8| ]
