DRAFT - The Battle of Vaskoth

On the 25th, Lucetians are ushered in to join an already growing army to repel the Cultists.

On the 26th, strange symptoms are reported. The first Runners appear and by nightfall, the hospital is lost.

On the 27th, the cultist horde is completely lost to the virus. They send no more reinforcements.

On the 28th, the situation is grim and an evacuation is called. But the battle is not over.

Notes: There will be two NPC threads. One for Specialist Davis and another for Carol.

[The burst of air exposes Moro's flesh, which, followed by the barrage of bullets, takes a beating before more tendrils sprout from the new wounds, and her thrashing as she became encased by ice as well as pinned by shadows increased.]

[Saori pulls back for a third shot, this time aiming for Moro's eye, figuring that it is the weakest point on her body. The goddess raises her bow high into the sky and calls down another bolt of lightning to energize the arrow, and then looses it...]

[Ace had hung back for a while, throwing an occasional attack to keep her dow, but with her form becoming more and more grotesque, and her anger and thrashing increasing, Ace decided it was time to step in and help with the final blows.

He steps forward with his hands in front of him. As they begin to glow green, tiny little lights that appear to be fireflies float toward her. And only to her.]

Hotarubi. Hidaruma. [As soon the words are out of his mouth, the lights explode around Moro, easily dealing plenty of damage.]

[voidseeing]

[Gai isn't wasting this opportunity-- as Saori's arrow flies for the eye and the newcomer's magic triggers explosions that will hopefully stun Moro at least for the moment, he aims right for the ankle joint on her right front leg and fires off another burst of bullets, hoping that if he can shatter the bone there, he can cripple her enough to make it easy to finish her off.]

[Moro, from the accumulated damage, finally goes limp. Chunks of her body are blown away, and the only movement is her chest, slowly inhaling, exhaling, the breaths getting shallower and shallower...

...At least, until the head rouses, twisting and turning suddenly and violently, ripping itself right off of the body. It scoots along the ground with terrifying and horrific speeds, and looks for the closest targets, which are Aang and Roku.]

[Saori, for her part, had expected that much. She'd seen other animals gods go berserk, and she'd heard the tales of their vengeance. And seeing it speed towards Aang triggered something in her, a protective instinct and desperate desire to help.

So she drew back another arrow and loosed with all her might, hoping to pin the grisly attacker to the ground and slow it enough for Aang and Roku to escape.]

[... the head is still alive. The head is still alive, and heading towards those other two boys. The shock of that realization takes Gai a second to recover from; once he does, however, he shoots at the moving head, also hoping that this combined with the arrow will be enough to stop this horror.]

[Holy shit, why is the head moving. He's seen a lot of things, but nothing quite as horrifying as that. He snaps out of his shock soon enough, and raises his hands to create a spear-like flame in each.]

Shinka Shiranui. [He throws the flame spears at Moro's head, hoping the flames will spread and burn away the rest of her.]

[It's a close call - the head had launched itself at Aang, jaws wide open and ready to bite, before the arrow and spears of flame caught and pinned it violently against the ground. The gunfire riddled it before the flames eventually burned the flesh away.

Moro was finally dead.]
