Notes: There will be two NPC threads. One for Specialist Davis and another for Carol.

If you like creating your own NPCs, then check out this spreadsheet and be sure to contribute! This was originally set up by Griff for the Kin'cora event. It's been revised as a semi-official tracking spreadsheet for characters created on the fly.

[This -- despite all this talk of dragging -- impresses her rather deeply.]

Luceti? I know the area. You tend to be such strong favourites on these fields. It must make for many campaigns.
rashness: (Don't you see?)

A-ah. It's the first time I've been out, but since I've been here people have been a lot of missions, and on that thing in space. [.He bites his check. He'd never wanted to go out - serve the Malnosso, he'd though - but now he's out here, it's a little different than he's expected. There's a lot of pain and sadness and grimness, but there's also people cooperating. And saving innocent people]

Your first? [A cross between admiration and sympathy.] I remember my first. It was truly an eye-opener.
rashness: (The dean's house)

[personal profile] rashness 2012-11-03 06:08 am (UTC)(link)
A..Ah. Yeah? It always like this?

[And. Another spoon in]

N-no. Not quite. Unless you're asking whether it's always an eye-opener, in which case...yes. But my first excursion outside an enclosure was primarily a rescue mission. In the snow. I remember it well enough that it could have been yesterday.
rashness: (3rd rock from the sun)

[personal profile] rashness 2012-11-07 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)
If you ask me, I'd rather be in something like that. [Another spoonful, and he's rummaging around in here. Heh.] I mean, I can do something here, but I'd rather be saving people than beating up bad guys.
liaising: (o8.)

[personal profile] liaising 2012-11-08 12:23 pm (UTC)(link)
...I know the feeling. But I believe even beating up the bad guys comes with a need to help and save others. Hence: [she gestured at her operation. The bright side is strong with this one.]
rashness: (Memo Erin)

[personal profile] rashness 2012-11-09 10:01 pm (UTC)(link)
A...ah. I ain't doubting it, but it still doesn't sit right with me. [And he frowns some before getting one more spoonful and ... hm. Maybe he should . Yeah, he runs his finger in there to get the last of it, to be considerate to the food, because he would want it after he ate most of it and any less would be a waste. Then he nods.

So where can he help?]

[Apparently pleased with both his volunteering and his food-enjoying, Carol reaches out to relieve him of his emptied mug.]

There are boxes of dry goods kind souls have dropped off, and I'd like to see them moved into the hall. I do hope that's not too drudge-like for you?
rashness: (Boomerang)

[personal profile] rashness 2012-11-17 04:13 am (UTC)(link)
Ehahaha, not art all! I'm strong, so I've got it covered, lady!

[With a big cheeky grin. He would prefer to be saving people, or even protecting them, but lifting boxes and stuff? Sure. He can manage that. He actually goes and lifts one of them up one handed... he seems to be planning to balance one in both hand. While he's certainly strong enough for it, it's a bit. Precarious. To balance them like that]

[Her heart swells. of course, she sees this as the ultimate protection. The best chance a strapping young lad has to give his all for a community. This -- she's certain -- is the strong foundation of good works.

Carol's face lights up at the display.]
We must load you up, Rin! Make good use of those muscles.

[And at a clap of her hand, she then grabs the second box and offers it for his other hand. It's as if she doesn't mind the circus show. She doesn't mind risking the the boy losing his balance for one split box might be worth the happiness gained by the attempt.]
rashness: (Party all the time)

[personal profile] rashness 2012-11-18 10:39 pm (UTC)(link)
[Oh wow, she's so...nice. And she's got confidence in him? He preens from the praise, but more so when she loads on a third box. He pushes both of his hands together to try to balance that one between the other two. It's clearly unstable, likely it'll fall, but he's grinning at doing it. It's not even that heavy]

Hey, if there's more, I can take 'em!

[personal profile] liaising 2012-11-19 02:29 pm (UTC)(link)
What is the name of that Earth game? Jenga?

[This was nothing like Jenga, of course. For she was piling boxes on and not removing them. And a war was progressing just outside of this protected zone. But she picks up another box--]

Bend down! I can't reach...
rashness: (Arthas)

[personal profile] rashness 2012-11-20 05:29 am (UTC)(link)
You... got it, lady. [And he crouches, arms still full. He tries to make it easier for her, so he goes down low indeed, his face flushed by the surprise he has at this encounter (let alone her smile) and his tail curling some behind him]
liaising: (17.)

[personal profile] liaising 2012-11-21 12:51 pm (UTC)(link)
[And she leans upwards, balancing the box neatly atop the others. Her face -- smiling as it is -- belies the genuine concentration. But soon thee box is nudged gently into place and she steps back.

Breath held.

Will it hold? ]
rashness: (Eighties dude)

[personal profile] rashness 2012-11-23 01:31 am (UTC)(link)
[It... it...! Does. Or at least it does when he's crouching. As he stands, his arms naturally jossle and the center of gravity shifts. The top box ends up falling to the ground - he would try to catch it, but doing so would make all the others fall! Still, he tries to awkwardly move his leg to try to get it, which doesn't work and makes all the others sway too]

[personal profile] liaising 2012-11-23 01:33 pm (UTC)(link)
[Her hands clap over her mouth as she giggles. Giggles. The box held only hardy root vegetables -- potatoes and turnips and parsnips and celery root. They were no worse for wear. Carol stoops to collect the box and hugs it securely against her torso, replacing one fallen turnip.]

See? No harm done. Follow me. We'll get these boxes to their rightful home and then -- I'm afraid -- I have to scoot along to other work.
rashness: (I want you)

[personal profile] rashness 2012-11-24 08:57 pm (UTC)(link)
[He's still a bit flushed once he stops being pale, but he nods and follows in line behind her, balancing the remaining boxes well enough. But most of the way to the location-]

Hey lady, what'd you say your name was?
liaising: (11.)

[personal profile] liaising 2012-11-26 01:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Carol. Just...Carol.

[ occasionally she stops to exchange a word with this or that helper. but for the most part? she's on task. ]
rashness: (Rin likes his DS)

[personal profile] rashness 2012-11-28 07:53 pm (UTC)(link)
[And he hums a bit at this. Really, he'll do this task for her with no real further questions other than an earnest grin. Carol, huh. If this place's got a lady like this around, it's possible he's jumped the gun on his judgement of the Malnosso. No, actually, he definitely did. It's more complicated- just like how True Cross is mostly good but those Grigori are jackasses, maybe the Malnosso is mostly bad with a few good folks.

Really though, he's just glad to help somewhere]
