On the 25th, Lucetians are ushered in to join an already growing army to repel the Cultists.

On the 26th, strange symptoms are reported. The first Runners appear and by nightfall, the hospital is lost.

On the 27th, the cultist horde is completely lost to the virus. They send no more reinforcements.

On the 28th, the situation is grim and an evacuation is called. But the battle is not over.

Notes: There will be two NPC threads. One for Specialist Davis and another for Carol.

[Aang tears his eyes away from Shikamaru and nods while Aang goes closer to the confused mother. He tries to put a hand on her shoulder.]

Please. It's the only way to save your family.

[The mother looks down at the recently-attacked child, who is in shock and then walks up the son to try to reason with him over his storm of curses.]

Early into the 27th!

[It looks like it's going to work. Shikamaru gives them another few second - he can see the son's resolve breaking in frustration - to look over at Aang.]

How bad is your arm?

[He looks at Shikamaru a little uneasily.]

It's bleeding and it hurts. But it's... it's not the worst. It only went by my skin. [He really needs to get Katara to tell him better ways of describing his injuries sometime.]

Grazed. [He tries to reach out to turn it over himself. What he's planning might be risky, so he's trying to see if it's bleeding bad enough that they should wrap a bandage over it now, rather than wait until it's all clear to clean it.]

Y-yeah, that sounds right.

[And... yeah, it could use a wrapping, still. And it's his left arm.]

[It's a quick job: three seconds to tie it off, but it'll do for now. With that he looks back to the mother.]

Your decision?

[She halts her argument with her son, a shaky yes. She jumps a foot when the zombies bang at the other, and Shikamaru nods.]

Then let's get this show started. Out the front door quietly - follow my lead. The side door will keep them occupied for a few minutes.

[Once it's bandaged, he moves to follow Shikamaru. He reaches for the girl's hand and pulls her forward quietly towards the mother. The son seems to slump his shoulders in defeat as well; Aang was trying not to listen to their conversation, but it sounded like the mother said something along the lines of, "Even he knew when to retreat.

Aang still feels uncertain, and he catches himself gazing at Shikamaru's shadow several times. But he's trusting Shikamaru's lead.]

[Shikamaru tosses something into a bush on their way out. The zombies are still distracted for now, but that'll likely only last so long as they're quiet. They just need to get past this hill though, and it should be fine.

He keeps looking back, watching Aang as closely as the family.]

[Aang looks back at Shikamaru, moving quietly. Even the son seems oddly silent now. Aang manages to press his foot against the ground to cause some some earth to shift on a different side of the house - the noise should keep at least some of them busy over there for the time being.]

[Goooood thinking. Shikamaru nods in approval, and looks to the mother. She's wringing her hands, shaking. Nervous.

Just past this now. They can get them family to a camp, and it should be fine.]
