Harvest is Late Again.

Who: Nami (sort of) and anyone so inclined to help her out!
What: A harvest.
When: November 5th and 6th
Where: The mikan grove.
Summary: Nami didn't make the call for volunteers this year, despite already running late.  Luckily, Law did.
Rating: Rated PG just to be safe.


[So Nami didn't have a good time on the draft.  Which marks her up there with every other survivor of the damn thing, so nothing special there.  Events were rather shattering for both her and her crew, and she's been up here since her return, working to harvest the orchard on her own fifteen hours a day.  It's mindless and it's something to focus on, and she just didn't have the heart to make a public call out on the journals, let alone ask for help.  Aang and Marco came to help her out some earlier, for which she's silenty grateful.  But at this rate she'll be at least another week.

She hasn't heard Law's entry on the locked community (or anyone else's, for that matter), so when volunteers start arriving, she's surprised.  And not quite sure what to do except sort of...keep going. 

But.  Something tight within unwinds a little.  She might not be good at showing appreciation today, but it helps.  It really does.]

((ooc:  I've had a request for a harvest thread with Nami, so I figured putting this up is a good idea after all.  Nami herself isn't very sociable, though, so just warning ahead of time!  Backtaggable into forever.))

We'll take lots. [A pause.] How about you, Nami? How are you?

Yeah, and now we've got even more. Bolin just moved in 'cause the rest of his housemates left. [ no more future-dwellers save the two of them.

She quiets down to listen to how Nami is, though. Maybe she'll mention Vivi! ]

[...loaded question. She's already smiling, even if it's a little fixed.]

I've had better weeks. But I'll be fine.

We've all had better weeks. But. You've had a really bad one.

[He could see it in Aang and Roku's eyes. It was horrors. Aang had been more shaken up than when they went to the Moon.]

[breezing]

...Maybe you can make some candy mikans?

[ that would cheer her up. If that's...a thing. Because if you can make candy apples, you can make candy oranges right? ]

[Nami's quiet a moment, glancing between them both. The look she gives Sokka is more honest. A small nod, and she closes her eyes.]

...yeah.

[But that's as far as she goes.]

...candy mikans, huh? You know, I don't think I've ever tried.

[Talking about a really bad week full of death and zombies is not something she's inclined to do. Especially in front of Ikki.]

[Indeed, he realizes that as he watches her lapsed silence. He nods, at last, to try and keep up Ikki's bright thoughts.]

They'd probably be pretty good.

[breezing]

[ Ikki brightens, feeling more capable of discussing this particular topic. ]

We should try it!! I'm sure we could figure it out.

[Lighter topics for the future, she can handle with a little more grace.] Maybe we should have a day where we experiment or something. I'm sure Sanji--

--actually, maybe we should use the cottage kitchen. That way we'd have privacy and... nobody would be around to laugh if we messed up.

[And she won't have to harass Sanji any time soon.]

I'd suggest our place, but we might run into the same problem.

The cottage has a kitchen? That sounds good, then!!! Plus, then we could SURPRISE everyone!

That's right. We can just...experiment and see what we can come up with, and test it ourselves under the trees, huh?
