Harvest is Late Again.

Who: Nami (sort of) and anyone so inclined to help her out!
What: A harvest.
When: November 5th and 6th
Where: The mikan grove.
Summary: Nami didn't make the call for volunteers this year, despite already running late.  Luckily, Law did.
Rating: Rated PG just to be safe.

[So Nami didn't have a good time on the draft.  Which marks her up there with every other survivor of the damn thing, so nothing special there.  Events were rather shattering for both her and her crew, and she's been up here since her return, working to harvest the orchard on her own fifteen hours a day.  It's mindless and it's something to focus on, and she just didn't have the heart to make a public call out on the journals, let alone ask for help.  Aang and Marco came to help her out some earlier, for which she's silenty grateful.  But at this rate she'll be at least another week.

She hasn't heard Law's entry on the locked community (or anyone else's, for that matter), so when volunteers start arriving, she's surprised.  And not quite sure what to do except sort of...keep going.

But.  Something tight within unwinds a little.  She might not be good at showing appreciation today, but it helps.  It really does.]

((ooc:  I've had a request for a harvest thread with Nami, so I figured putting this up is a good idea after all.  Nami herself isn't very sociable, though, so just warning ahead of time!  Backtaggable into forever.))

Sorry. [Gently offers a finger to pet her head like his father did to him once upon a time.]

He'll be back.

[He wants to do more. Say more. Help more, somehow. But it was so confusing in this world where death was impermanent. It was confusing enough even when death was permanent.]

[Miyabi barely feels the touches, staring blankly forward as her mind tries desperately to process the fact that Zoro, Zoro, is gone. dead. She just can't understand it - he was so strong! He was brave, and admirable, and had a warrior's heart and soul and just...just... He'll be back? No. He shouldn't be gone in the first place! He shouldn't be!

She shakes her head and squeezes her eyes shut, just kind of curling up as much as she could in the middle of Marco's palm. She can still remember when they fought together to get to Nami, and then...then that other time. It wasn't even this Zoro, he wouldn't remember it, but she does. Miyabi does. She remembers when she considered him a second father of sorts. That time where they fell asleep, side by side, at the mikan harvest. It was a shift, but it was some of Miyabi's fondest memories.

And Zoro's gone now. She grits her teeth, and finally just can't be quiet anymore. She swears, and curses, and cries. Cries and cries and cries.]

How did it happen?!

[He shakes his head sadly.]

I don't know. I wasn't there. Just that were was a draft and zombies. Ace was really shook up about it. The others are too obviously.

I'm sorry Miyabi, should I have said nothing?

[Damnit, she wants to know what happened...but if she asks, it'll just tear open what seems to be an already fresh wound. She won't burden anyone with more pain, it's not fair for anyone, and she really doesn't want to know the details anyway, deep in her heart. It'll just make it hurt more, she knows that. It'll ease her mind, but it won't cure the pain, only add to it.]

N-No...it's fine. Do-Don't apologize. [It's not your fault, it's no one's fault but the Malnosso's.] Thank you...for letting me know. ...I'm sorry you had to.

It's all right. Someone had to and I'm used to dealing with this kind of thing.

Are you okay though? Anything more I can do?

[Miyabi's quiet, as she thinks, hard, on Marco's question. There's really not much he could do. Not much anyone could do, other than wait patiently for Zoro to return. But she's probably not the one who's hurting the most, and it's selfish for Miya to ask for help for herself. No, she's not going to ask for that, her pain must mean nothing compared to what the Straw Hats are feeling right now.]

...Yes. Worry and tend to the others, not me. They're bound to need more support than I do.

[He picks her up higher and leans his head near her in as close an approximation to a hug as he can give. Having been surrounded by near-giants for so long, he has a tendency to manhandle those smaller than him, however affectionately.]

Rest assured, I'll do my best for all of you, but that includes you too, Beautiful.

[Pats her head soothingly with a single finger.] Don't worry about being a little selfish with me. What are big brother crews for, eh? Besides, if I can help you, then you can also help them more and you know them better than I do.

[At first, Miyabi doesn't do much even when she is brought higher, but after a minute or so, she finally reaches up with her little arms and gives Marco's cheek large hug. He's really trying to make her feel better, and she certainly does appreciate his sincerity and kindness. And his words do bring a smile to her face, and the light she gives off gets a tiny bit brighter again. Thank you, Marco, really.]

You're doing enough for me already, thank you. Telling me, and comforting me. If you can do that for the others, then I think it will be enough. [That's all anyone can really do for them now. Just stay by their sides, offer support, and wait.]

I'll give it my best, eh. And if you can give me tips, I'll follow them too. [Soothing head pets forever. It's what his Dad did for him, so without even realizing, Marco reflexively continues the tradition.]
