Harvest is Late Again.

Who: Nami (sort of) and anyone so inclined to help her out!
What: A harvest.
When: November 5th and 6th
Where: The mikan grove.
Summary: Nami didn't make the call for volunteers this year, despite already running late.  Luckily, Law did.
Rating: Rated PG just to be safe.


[So Nami didn't have a good time on the draft.  Which marks her up there with every other survivor of the damn thing, so nothing special there.  Events were rather shattering for both her and her crew, and she's been up here since her return, working to harvest the orchard on her own fifteen hours a day.  It's mindless and it's something to focus on, and she just didn't have the heart to make a public call out on the journals, let alone ask for help.  Aang and Marco came to help her out some earlier, for which she's silenty grateful.  But at this rate she'll be at least another week.

She hasn't heard Law's entry on the locked community (or anyone else's, for that matter), so when volunteers start arriving, she's surprised.  And not quite sure what to do except sort of...keep going. 

But.  Something tight within unwinds a little.  She might not be good at showing appreciation today, but it helps.  It really does.]

((ooc:  I've had a request for a harvest thread with Nami, so I figured putting this up is a good idea after all.  Nami herself isn't very sociable, though, so just warning ahead of time!  Backtaggable into forever.))

[Oh, Miyabi understands. She's gotten flack from people in Nippon even, over how she looks and what she even is. It's usually excused when it's a small Oina child, because they don't know any better or haven't been taught about their neighboring poncles, but right now Miyabi's cranky. She grimaces and snort, looking off to the side and standing with her hands crossed. Gods...she's going to have to explain, isn't she?]

I'm a poncle. ...A forest sprite. I tend to the cherry blossom trees on the hill near here. [So no, she is not a new feather, before this girl asks.]

[A forest sprite? Really? ...Well. The giant galf in the woods (who she doesn't know is gone yet) is apparently some kind of forest spirit herself, so. She's encountered stranger things. She does her best to not look skeptical and...mostly succeeds.]

Ah. I...didn't know. [...This is awkward.] Sorry. But this mightn't be the best place to take a nap today.

It's fine. [She says the words quickly, then sighs and droops her shoulders. No...no, she shouldn't be taking out her bad mood on this girl. It's just that she's tired, and cranky, and just came back from a kidnapping. It's not this girl's fault for that, and Miyabi shouldn't have even blamed her in the beginning. Gods, what is wrong with her?]

Eh...no, please, miss. I should apologize. That was impolite of me, to treat you with such disrespect. [She bows her head low, apologetically.] I've only just come back from being taken away by the Malnoso...I'm not in the best of moods, forgive me.

Oh. [And that quite handily explains bother the odd place to nap(?) and the aggression.]

Geez, you don't need to apologize for something like that, or at least not that much. Anyone would be in that position -- are you okay?

No, it was still very impolite of me to accuse you. [Even if she was upset or kidnapped or whatever. That's no way for a lady to behave. Bah, she's got to control her temper better.] But I'm fine, thank you, just tired...and a little hungry.

Uhm--could you tell me what the date is, miss?

[Well, Fenimore can really understand losing tempers when tired, hungry, or post-kidnapping, but still, she won't insist it's her fault if this sprite is willing to take the blame!]

It's the 6th. [...And then she remembers that a month would be helpful since people often disappear for more than once.] Of November. Nami's harvesting her mikans at the moment, so it shouldn't be hard to get you something to eat...if you eat mikans, I mean. [The fruit is pretty big compared to the sprite, after all.]

[November. It's November now?! That means she was gone for a month, then, give or take a few days. Miyabi grumbles in frustration, then just sighs and bows her head in thanks. There's little she can do about how long she was gone, and what she may have missed, and there's not use complaining about it.]

Mm, I can eat mikan. The only things I don't eat are meat and fish. Half of one fruit should be more than enough for me. I can help harvest them too, after I've regained some strength. [She'll always help if it's for Nami's orchard. No matter what.] I know the person this place belongs to.

[Well, at least that's easy enough to fix. Her basket of mikans did not retain much when she dropped it while falling, but there's at least one still in reach, so she'll take one and start peeling it. She suspects she will have an easier time with that than Miyabi.]

You can? -- I mean, it's not that I'm trying to doubt you, but they're...pretty big. [Relatively speaking. She doubts that she could help harvest if the trees and mikans were as big relative to her size as they are with Miyabi]
