Summary: Several people have received simple, written invitations asking them to meet at the rec center for a proposal.

[This is the log in which Shikamaru collects people and they get to talking about the task at hand for disseminating information, and possibly recruits them into the agency thereafter if they're still interested. People will likely be showing up at different times, so he speaks to everyone one-on-one instead of in a group.

The proposal will be offered to each character who shows up casually - no hard feelings whatever you decide to do - but with firmness. This is a group that will be dedicated to intelligence research and analysis, not information gathering. It's nothing flashy or exciting, but he expects discretion and it's a job that shouldn't be taken lightly. Those who accept the offer will be told things should be up and running withing two weeks.]

[Shikamaru nods approvingly. That became a large part of the reason why he pursued every mission he could.]

Only problem is not everyone gets approved to go on them. I see a lot of the same people, and I doubt that all of the same information gets passed around. [He's not a betting man; he has no doubt Leonhardt has knowledge Shikamaru doesn't possess, and vice versa.]

There's a lot more people in this village than those. Eventually, the things we've learned might be important for all of them to know. What I want is to gather up everything that the people here will give me. Find out what they learned, and then have a team sit down and make sense of it.

[That was definitely Leonhardt's reason, and also the fact that it got him out of Luceti as well. Staying in one place all the time doesn't sit well with Leonhardt. Of course, Shikamaru would be very correct that Leonhardt has information others don't possess. There is only one other person in Luceti who knows what really happened to the Count, after all.]

And would I be correct you are going to find a way to gather that information so that people don't have to put their name to it if they wish to preserve their reputation here as well?

[That really is the main reason why Leonhardt has kept quiet about the Count. That and the fact that people would likely be highly disturbed that MARS ordered an assassination of the CEO.]

It's set up to be anonymous friendly. We'll get the information the old-fashioned way, with pen and paper, and they'll be three separate drop off points for it. No one has to attach a name to anything unless they want to.

[Which will get more people to talk, but lack of a name also has the disadvantage of not knowing if the information is solid or not. This place has numerous misinformed people who keep on misinforming newcomers, after all.]

So you wish people to gather that, make sense of it, determine truth or falsehood and turn it into actual working theory or strategy?

The latter half will come with time. Getting the facts straight itself will be our first priority.

[Which is why he's asking a few people here, like Gai and Leonhardt, that he knows are regular mission-goers. They'll be familiar enough with things to make good calls on things like that.]

[And then there are drafts as well. That zombie virus definitely was unique and they'll likely want accounts of that as well. Especially to confirm or deny if it was intended as a biological weapon that failed badly. Leonhardt's own going theory is that the Malnosso are attempting to develop a means to stop the cycle of rebirth so they can take away the biggest advantage the cultists have.]

That is always the hard part of gathering information. One has to confirm sources when possible and check against known facts. Even good sources may be biased or misinformed. Obviously that means I'll agree. I've been doing that already.

[He knows all this, quirking one corner of his mouth, but he'll just take that he doesn't have to explain it. Leonhardt's understanding and cooperation is all he needs.]

[He expects that Shikamaru would know that, but of course it's the confirmation that both of them are aware that truth is important and how difficult this is with sources being harder to check in a place where information is lacking.]

And I'm glad to hear someone wants to finally gather it all in one place. All I care about is finding a way home and not returning this time. Whatever it takes to accomplish that is something I'll do, and that includes sharing what I've already done.

[Handshakes are fine. While Leonhardt usually isn't one for touching people, he tends to trust people he's fought with a lot more than most. If Shikamaru offers his hand, Leonhardt will shake it with a firm and confident grip after making sure to put down his writing instruments. And then write his response.]

When you have things ready I can be found in house 24 or the Battle Dome. It isn't as if I have anything better to do than scour the journals and train.

I'll pay you a visit when the time comes. You'll be informed before the drop boxes are in place, though it might take some time before we have much to work with.

[Almost assuredly, it'll be the house he'll visit when that happens.]

[The house is indeed fine, or he wouldn't have mentioned it. Actually, he's always home, even if it's just one of his shadows there doing busywork.]

We could always start by pooling together what we already have if it does take time. Ensuring that all involved start with the same base of knowledge will only be a benefit and any you would propose this to likely have something to provide that others may not have.
