Summary: Rapunzel has discovered a hodgepodge of what Thanksgiving is about, and so she has decided to throw a big dinner for anyone who wants to come!

If they had Thanksgiving back in her world, Rapunzel had absolutely no knowledge about it, and even after spending over half a year in Luceti, she was still a little hazy on the details of various holidays. However, she loved an occasion to celebrate, and what she'd learned about Thanksgiving so far was certainly something worth celebrating: a day to share good food with friends new and old, and express your thanks for the wonderful things in your life? Sounds perfectly fantastic to her. So she decided to make the most of it.

She starts cooking in the kitchen on the first floor of CH7 nearly at the break of dawn, filling the building with enticing aromas throughout the day. If that's not enough to draw people out, she takes a moment between dishes to make a village-wide invite to the dinner on the journal. She even makes a sign to set in the window of the bakery, apologizing for the unscheduled closing and directing any interested parties to the nearby CH7 for promised good times and delicious food.

Of course, she would love to have anyone bring a dish if they so desire - there's only so much cooking one can do, even if they are a Disney princess! She'd love some help in the kitchen, too.

At the dinner itself, attendants can expect to find many of the traditional Thanksgiving dishes - turkey, mashed potatoes, vegetables, casseroles, stuffing, rolls, yams, et cetera. Of course, there are a few completely out-of-place dishes as well: popcorn, jelly beans, toast, pretzels. Where on earth could she have gotten the idea for food like that? It is a mystery. For dessert, there will be an impressive line up of pies of various flavors, pumpkin roll, pumpkin bread, cupcakes decorated as turkeys, cookies, and so forth.

So, come on in, meet some friends new and old, and most of all, be thankful!

As mentioned, Rapunzel made an announcement on the journal earlier in the day inviting anyone who wants to to come, as well as set a sign up in the bakery directing people to CH7. This is basically a free-for-all mass log, so have fun, bring a dish, carve some turkey, do whatever!]

Red had seen her a few times in the crowd, but he was far too busy with gorging himself to talk. Now, though, he was finally slowing down, although his plate was still quite full. "Hey, nice to meet you!" he exclaimed, extending the hand that wasn't holding up a mountain of food. "I'm Red! I'm guessin' you're one of the people in charge of all this?"

[gleamed]

She shakes his hand enthusiastically, always glad for a good old fashioned handshake. It seemed like the proper way to meet someone - aside from a hug, of course.

"Yes, that would be me! It's nice to meet you, Red." She chuckles a bit, checking out his mountain of food. "I take it you're enjoying the food?"

"Of course!" he replied happily, grinning even more widely. "It's all amazin'! Never had food like this in my life!" Of course, that was quite literal, as his world didn't have many of these dishes.

"Oh, not sure if you saw it, but I brought somethin' of my own! Seafood stew, as close to my recipe as I could get it with the stuff here!" he added, looking quite proud of himself. "Didn't think it was right to show up without repayin' you guys." Conveniently, he's leaving out the part where he made it for himself in the first place.

[gleamed]

"Seafood stew, hm?" She DID notice it, but she wasn't sure what it was or who brought it - knowing that now, she would have to try it! "Sounds delicious! What's in it?"

Ominously, Red has to stop and scratch his head for a moment. "I dunno," he eventually ventures. "I just tasted a buncha stuff and put in things that tasted like seafood from home. It's still good, though!" Red continues hurriedly. "Almost just like the real thing!"

[gleamed]

...That's not particularly reassuring. But! She's nothing if not adventurous...

"Well! I'll just have to try it and see!"

[savarin]

"Yeah! Tell you what, I'll go grab some! Just need to put this down somewhere," says Red, eventually setting his plate down on a nearby chair. ...Did it just creak a little?

He wanders off, coming back in a few minutes with a small bowl of the stew and a spoon. "Here, give it a shot!" he urges, handing both to Rapunzel.

[gleamed]

She gives the chair a puzzled look when it creaks, but then waits patiently for Red to return as she socializes with a few other guests. She grins at him when he returns with a bowl for her.

"Why, thank you!" And without a second thought, she takes a spoonful, chews, and swallows.

Hmm...

"Oh, that's very good!"

Relief floods through Red. He hadn't been quite sure if that combination would be palatable to any humans, much less safe for them. At least it didn't make her immediately ill, so it should be fine.

"Glad you like it!" replies Red, just a hint of nervousness left in his voice. He picks up his plate again, the chair creaking again as the weight comes off of it. "Y'know, somethin' like this is a good way to share cultures," he proposes, setting himself down on that poor chair. "If you do this again, I'll bring some more stuff!"
