Summary: Masaomi asked Katara out. She said yes after the draft. He gave her some time to settle, and then offered a time for it to happen - she accepted,and here we are.

[Aaaand here. We. Go. He considered just wearing that same suit, but that might have been a tired thing. He could have put on something the Prince would wear -- he even considered it -- but thought better of it. In the end, the settled for something like this, but with less obnoxious socks and the dress pants from the suit instead of Jeans. He still thinks he looks nice, but now he doesn't look overly nice! Or demanding!

Man he's confident but it's possible he under-dressed. Oh Well. Knock, one arm behind his back]

[She lets him have her hand, in part just to warm him up a little. He's got to be freezing up here.]

[Just a little. But he could sweat, the warmth from her hand warms his entire body. It's all he can do not to pull her too fast because while it's a pretty simple descent, it is still a descent in the mountain range. Still, as they head down the rocky path and into the forest proper, the reason for the name he gave it becomes obvious: the deer in this valley are large by Luceti's standards, and there's also some elk in here. It's an isolated ecosystem, so...]

[Katara, for her part, looks around the valley. She admires the trees and the calm peaceful beauty of the place.]

When did you find this place?

Oh, some time ago, now. Shikamaru found it first, actually. [After He killed her "error," when he couldn't handle everything anymore. But he doesn't say that, it would ruin the mood. So he smoothly just continues] To be honest, I'm not sure he wanted me to find it private hide-away, but then... I don't think he wanted people to find his apartment back in the day. [And that worked out okay]

It was probably a ninja thing. [She smiled encouragingly at Masaomi.] But you two are getting along great now. It's nice to see that such great friendships can come from rocky starts.

Too true! That's pretty much the story of my life though, isn't it? I'm one of those books you need to read and then digest.

[That said, while he's playing it cool, he does feel more flushed. He hopes his coldness prevents that being obvious]

Now don't say things about being inside her, don't say things about- inhale, exhale, and we're good. Now nearer to the lake's edge, there's... a landmark.

It's a teleporter. However, unlike the one Sokka designed the frame of in the barracks (metal) or the one in the Rec Center they went though that Alphonse made the frame of (stone) this one is made out of... a cannibalized fridge. A large one, but a fridge all the same. It does have the same outer symbols as the other one though. once they're at that, he opens his hand to get his hand out of hers]

Could you excuse me a moment?

[Katara blinked a few times in surprise.]

Um. Sure, okay.

Give me three... no, maybe five minutes, tops! [And he twirls before heading to the door of the teleport-fridge, opening it to let himself in with a grin And he winks as the closes the door to go in the other end]

[...okaaaay, she'll just be over here, amusing herself by playing with the water in this stream. She swirls it around, bending it so that it follows the movement of her hand.]

[Meanwhile, he comes out the other end of this in his and Shikamaru's apartment. Wow it's so much warmer here and his ears feels weird from the altitude shift. Weird. Oh well. He puts on some better gloves while he's here but the main point is to get a basket. A picnic basket, actually, but he has to fill it with a few prepared things, and so when he comes back out three minutes later, he lefts it up, grinning, and there's some heat off it because there's hot foot]

[Katara lets the water fall back in the stream and turns to him with a smile.]

Where did you go?

Well, it's probably too early for a proper meal, but I've got a half-meal here for us, picnic-style. I figured this scenery suited something like that.

That does sound really nice. But are you sure you won't be too cold?

Gloves! I'm good, don't worry.

[He waves one hand, holding up the basket with the other. ...If it gets really too bad he can be lame and get a better coat or a hat or something but he won't be that lame]
