Who: Luke fon Fabre, Guy Cecil, and Haseo
What: Haseo and Guy are hunting down an injured, quite stubborn Luke
When: After Luke returns from his kidnapping
Where: The forest
Summary: Uh, just look up at the what :o
Rating: PG-13... Haseo has a mouth
Dragging yourself along the forest floor probably wasn't the best idea when you were bleeding profusely from your side and severely dizzy as a result. Dirt and things usually got in the wound, which led to infection, and various other pains in the ass things.

But that didn't stop Luke fon Fabre from doing so. It didn't stop him from desperately trying to hide that he was far more injured than he'd like to let on, and it didn't stop him from trying to avoid help. He'd take care of himself. No more asking for help, he'd do this alone.

And if Haseo wasn't so damn stubborn, he'd have probably made it by himself too. But now he had two people trying to find him, and one knew where he was. He sighed heavily, groaning at the pressure and pain in his right side. He finally floppd to the grass, out of breath and barely clining to consciousness. Damn blood loss.

Why had the journal started recording?

Haseo was supremely pissed. There was no other way he could describe it as he'd thrown on some boots for trekking to the forest and stalked off and out of the house, a package of medical supplies under his arm. Why did all of his friends have to be so damn stubborn or martyrs? Why couldn't they just let him help easily?

Did he really have to root canal Luke to get directions? Why the hell did it have to be so hard here right now?

He knew where to look, at least. He'd been there before. He drew in a deep breath and kept hurrying along, afraid if he was slow, his thoughts would catch up to him and distract him. He needed to get to Luke before he tried to wander.

Guy cursed both Luke and himself as he hacked away at the poor, defenseless undergrowth; he'd told Luke that he didn't want to babysit him anymore, but of course Luke had taken it completely wrong. There was a difference, damn it, why didn't Luke see that?!

'Because you didn't bother to explain it to him before storming off.' Guy's brows furrowed. It was the truth.

Pushing aside the negative thoughts, Guy concentrated solely on finding the redhead; only after he was safe and well would Guy even attempt to discuss anything with Luke. Not only that it would give him time to come to terms with what he'd done wrong. Guy was just as much at fault as Luke...possibly more so.

Haseo looked a little suspicious when he saw a patch of blond hair wandering in a similar direction as he was going. He straightened up, clenching his fists closed and opened a few times as it fully registered in his head. He stepped forward and crossed his arms. Oh did he have a few choice words for this guy. And OH did he wish he could say them now. But it wasn't the time.

"What the hell are you doing out here?"

[identity profile] cherub-gardios.livejournal.com 2008-03-08 02:54 am (UTC)(link)
A sharp voice cut through Guy's concentration and he turned to regard the young man who'd addressed him. Searching his memories, Guy drew a blank and he asked cautiously, "Who are you?"

Now was not the time for a fight with a random stranger, that could certainly wait. Luke was in pain.

[identity profile] reversedarkness.livejournal.com 2008-03-08 03:04 am (UTC)(link)
"Tch, that's pathetic. You don't even know who I am?" Haseo remarked, looking judgmental. God, he was really getting to the point of hating people again. Maybe that was just his loneliness getting the better of him.. but right now..?

"... I shouldn't be wasting my time. Forget it. Nevermind," the silver haired teen finally said, turning away and beginning to walk at a quick pace again. The course of Guy's actions would need to be up to him. He couldn't argue right now, he had to go and help the stubborn ass red head back into town.

Well, the attitude was familiar. As if Asch had gone gray and gotten a haircut. However, he was in the woods, in a hurry, and obviously had it out for Guy...thanks to certain...individuals, what had happened between Guy and Luke wasn't any sort of a secret. More than likely, this angry young man was a friend of Luke's.

What was his name again? H-something. "Are you looking for Luke?"

[identity profile] reversedarkness.livejournal.com 2008-03-08 03:26 am (UTC)(link)
Right now, he wished the other would just stop talking. For as much of a stubborn, snapping, bratty teen as he could be, sometimes he couldn't help but be nice. It was because of that.. growth he'd gone through over the past few years.

"..... Listen. I don't like you. Right now actually? I don't like you one damn bit. But... I have a feeling you're not gonna give a shit what I say and will just follow me if I say no. If you're really wanting to find him, which I'll be frank it fucking SHOCKS me to see you out here, then be quiet and follow me and leave when I tell you... this weak has left me in no mood."

With that said, he kept walking on towards the looming sound of the river until a feeble little heap of red, cloth, feathers and a darker, thicker red shone. "... Oh god damn it, Luke..." he muttered, holding his breath and booking it over to kneel by the teen's side.

[identity profile] cherub-gardios.livejournal.com 2008-03-08 03:39 am (UTC)(link)
Guy suppressed the urge to roll his eyes in exasperation; definitely Asch's kindred spirit. His words might've sparked some anger if he'd had a shorter fuse, but right now this kid -whoever he was- was not important in the least, and nor was his opinion of Guy. He could think whatever he wanted to think and say whatever he wanted to say, but as long as Luke was found Guy couldn't really bring himself to care.

Not more than a minute after his little outburst had the teen spotted Luke just as Guy did, and Guy rushed to Luke's side. There was blood...lots and lots of blood. Guy wasted no time in grabbing Luke's shirt and -apologizing under his breath- peeled it from the wound as gently as he could. Pulling his shirt free and tearing it with his teeth, Guy pressed a wad of cloth to stem the blood flow, his hand already at Luke's forehead. "Luke?" he called gently, proud when his voice didn't even waver.

It wasn't so easy for someone like Haseo to keep it together with a sight like this when he was unstable as it was. He gripped the medical kit tight in his hands for a moment, staring like some horrified child at Luke before swallowing and muttering a name under his breath that wasn't able to be deciphered.

He opened the kit and shoved gauze towards Guy. "Here... once it stops..." the tattooed teenager muttered, shaking his head and rolling his shoulders to shake off the turning in his stomach. He started getting out antiseptic and pulled off his coat. They could throw it over Luke later on.

"Yeah... we did.. see, dumbass.. heh... I told you, I was gonna come find you either way, you know?"

[identity profile] cherub-gardios.livejournal.com 2008-03-08 09:58 am (UTC)(link)
Guy accepted the gauze and lifted the wad of cloth from Luke's wound before it had a chance to stick. He winced, examining the wound with a calculating eye and tried not to think of whose side it was in. What they needed was water, but the river wasn't reliable and unless the teen across from him had packed a kettle, a fire or even a pot with some purifying tablets then they were fresh out of luck.

Pressing the cloth to Luke's side again Guy wiped away the blood as best he could with another scrap of his shirt; some of it was dried and sticky, but the fresher blood was cleaned away somewhat. He was content to allow Luke and his friend to talk, not that he trusted his words at the moment anyways.

"Can you blame me...? Look at you..." Haseo said, solemn and still trying to gather up his nerves. This never got better, seeing his friends hurt like this. It was bad enough losing them to AIDA back home. It was bad enough to know he could lose them to an eternal sleep... This, Alkaid, Silabus leaving... He wasn't sure how much more he could bear before he'd break like he had before. There was no Kuhn or Pi or Sensei or Phyllo here to help or to lean on, either. He shook his head and popped the lid off the antiseptic.

"Y...yeah... you're welcome..." Haseo replied, bright red eyes a little off, somewhere else, somewhere with the Twilight Brigade, walking between Ovan and Shino and feeling happy. It was easier if he wasn't paying attention completely right now.

[identity profile] cherub-gardios.livejournal.com 2008-03-08 08:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Guy brushed Luke's hair back and searched the redhead for any other wounds; when he only discovered a few bruises and scrapes, he returned his attention to the gash in his side which, to his dismay, was still leaking blood (although the flow had slowed considerably). He didn't lift his eyes to meet Luke's -he didn't think he could- and only listening silently to the conversation between the teenager -Haseo! That was his name- and Luke. Whatever Haseo had said to him earlier, it was obvious that he cared a great deal for Luke. If only for that, he had some of Guy's respect.

There was a soft sound and Guy's eyes darted to the bottle of antiseptic in Haseo's hand; he held out a blood-smeared hand for it, wondering of Haseo would actually hand it to him or splash some into his eyes first.

Although he supposed he might have deserved it, just a little.

[identity profile] reversedarkness.livejournal.com 2008-03-09 05:39 am (UTC)(link)
Haseo was actually victim to the passing thought of splashing it into Guy's face. For now, at least, he resisted any violence and shoved the antiseptic towards him expectantly. He'd know what to do more than Haseo, it seemed. Haseo decided to keep Luke alert.

"We're not angry, Luke... don't apologize..."

[ooc: Waugh, sorry! *back from fun fun beach tiem*]

[identity profile] cherub-gardios.livejournal.com 2008-03-10 02:53 am (UTC)(link)
"You don't have to apologize," Guy murmured quietly, brushing Luke's hair away from his sweat-slick forehead, and gently moved the cloth away from the wound. "This'll sting," he warned him before setting his jaw and dousing the wound with the antiseptic. It was harsh and a rush job, but hopefully it would take care of any of the nastier germs that may have infected the wound.

He could understand exactly why Luke would choose to return unaided. It was obvious that what Guy had said had struck home...and perhaps a bit too well. He'd wanted Luke to be strong and independent like he knew he could be, but not hard-headed and reckless. Luke just needed to find his happy medium, and Guy needed to have the patience to let him discover it on his own.

[identity profile] reversedarkness.livejournal.com 2008-03-10 03:11 am (UTC)(link)
Haseo remained quiet, offering bandaging and medical tape to Guy. He glanced up at the other, bright red eyes a little serious, a little dazed. Regression of mental stability was a bitch. That was HIS decision as he felt lately he had made no progress since his first joining G.U.

"Hurry up. I have to get him inside... Alkaid will be worried sick if I'm gone too long."

[identity profile] cherub-gardios.livejournal.com 2008-03-10 03:20 am (UTC)(link)
"This is a rush job as it is," Guy murmured, without any bite, and quickly dressed the wound before moving to lift Luke into his arms out of habit. However he paused, and, against his better judgement, hesitantly asked, "Luke, do you think you can walk with some help?"

Luke didn't want to be treated as a child or an invalid, and damn it Guy was going to oblige, even if it killed him.

[identity profile] reversedarkness.livejournal.com 2008-03-10 03:49 am (UTC)(link)
Haseo stood as well, standing to Luke's other side. Half of it was because he didn't want Luke to tip over, the other half was that something in him still wanted to deck Guy in the teeth.

"Alkaid's not someone you wanna get too riled up..." he commented, offhand and quiet, smirking faintly.

[identity profile] cherub-gardios.livejournal.com 2008-03-10 03:53 am (UTC)(link)
Silently, Guy pulled Luke's arm over his shoulders, helping the teen through the remainder of the woods and over to the house he was occupying. He didn't want to interject in the conversation, and he certainly didn't want to agitate Haseo as he knew it would upset Luke and be counterproductive to getting the redhead to a safe place.

[identity profile] reversedarkness.livejournal.com 2008-03-10 04:14 am (UTC)(link)
Haseo pulled Luke's other arm over his shoulder for support, looking uninterested at the lights in the village himself. After only being able to share this sight himself for so long, it'd become dull and uninteresting.

His eyes trailed to Guy's face for a moment before he heaved a sigh and looked a little indignant. "Maybe for now, you should come stay with us... I think it might just be better for now. Don't worry... I have plenty of medical supplies there."

[identity profile] cherub-gardios.livejournal.com 2008-03-11 03:26 am (UTC)(link)
Guy remained silent for a moment, contemplating. He most certainly did not want Luke to stay at Haseo's, he was perfectly capable of caring for the redhead himself. He opened his mouth to tell Haseo just that, but rethought again. It wouldn't do to agitate either Haseo or Luke, and right now, what right did he have to claim Luke for himself?

He'd left Luke.

"...I...I can take care of him," Guy began cautiously, looking over at Luke from the corner of his eye, "but he should decide where he'd like to go."

[identity profile] reversedarkness.livejournal.com 2008-03-12 03:53 am (UTC)(link)
Haseo's thin shoulders shrugged some. He couldn't say no. At the end of it, no matter what became of these two, they were still old friends. It wasn't his place to keep them apart when they still had each other.

"Yeah.. that's right..."

[identity profile] cherub-gardios.livejournal.com 2008-03-13 05:39 pm (UTC)(link)
To say it didn't hurt to hear Luke say he'd rather stay with Haseo would be a lie...but to say it was unexpected wouldn't exactly be truthful either. If he were in Luke's position, he probably would have made the same choice. But Guy was willing to work at it; he would do what it took for Luke to trust him again. "All right," he replied with a nod, glancing over at Haseo. "I'd like very much to check up on you. I won't stay long," he directed the last sentence to Haseo. It was obvious he didn't like Guy in the least, and the last thing he wanted to do was antagonize Luke's caretaker.

...how strange it sounded, to refer to Luke's caretaker as someone other than himself.
