Generic Winter Gift Giving Holiday
Who: Marvel cast+invited guests and dates
What: CH5 Floor 5 hosts Generic Winter Gift Giving Holiday, in the spirit of cooperation, inclusiveness and good food.
When: December 25th
Where: Community House 5, Floor 5
Summary: Pepper and Tony held Thanksgiving, now it is Floor 5's collective turn to host the party for Christmas/Hanukkah/Yule/whatever those crazy Midgarians celebrate anyway. Hopefully everyone will survive.
Rating: PG-13 because alcohol
[It seemed only fair that since Pepper and Tony had hosted the last holiday, that someone else host this time. And since they kind of had an entire floor, the inhabitants of Floor 5 had bravely and nobly taken the task upon themselves to create a party that they could all share.
The doors are propped open to try to give them enough space for mingling, with a Christmas tree set up in Clint's living room, presents laid out beneath it. And maybe he's been a bit enthusiastic with the decorating, because it's kind of weighted down with tinsel and baubles, but it's been more than twenty years since he last had a Christmas tree and people to spend it with. Everyone else has added their own personal touches too, with a menorah in the windowsill for Ben and Billy.
The place of honour on the couch is taken by Coulson, wrapped up in blankets and Clint has helpfully hung a sprig of mistletoe over his head with string because he is thoughtful like that.
The kitchen is laid out with food; there's the traditional turkey which they'd managed to prepare (Clint is rather proud of that), and a ham. Oddly for some perhaps, there's also a large fish in the middle of the table, the carp that Clint and Natasha have spent the last week keeping in a bathtub. There are, of course, assorted cakes and pies, vegetables in bowls. There's drinks too, mulled wine and hot cider and chocolate. There's also a plate of sugar cookies labelled 'Coercion Cookies'. Not to mention the food that Ben and Billy made which he doesn't know the names of but smells amazing anyway.
It's a somewhat chaotic affair; people arriving and leaving as they please, gifts given out whenever it seems appropriate and games played whenever there's a group big enough.]
[OOC: Feel free to have people drop by whenever they like, even early if they want to help prepare or discover large fish in the bathtub.]

Set up shenanigans?
[He'd ducked in to use the can, a quick break and wash up in the middle of getting all the food laid out in the kitchen, and finds a huge frigg'n problem.]
Why the @#$%! is there a FISH in the bathtub?
All the shenanigans
He ducks back out into the kitchen when Ben shouts, frowning slightly before he remembers.]
Oh, that's Ethel. She's a carp.

Phil vs. the Mistletoe
To avoid that, Phil gladly holds court from the Couch, greeting everyone who comes in with a cheerful if slightly hoarse voice.
At least, until the mistletoe above him is brought to his attention.
It was easy to guess who had done it. The minute Coulson is well, he will get you back Clint, so watch your back. For now, he contents himself with giving Clint bland looks, which promise bad things, every time he sees him.
When not trying to freak Clint out with bland looks, Phil keeps glaring at the mistletoe, wishing he had a gun or a knife so he could destroy the thing since Clint had hung it out of his reach or greeting those who come in.
Kiss him at your own peril. Or non-peril.]
Re: Phil vs. the Mistletoe
The glare directed at the mistletoe is impossible to miss and she's chuckling as she approaches him, a grin on her lips.]

[The only reason for Ben's hesitation is that blam'n sprig of green above Phil's head. He spends a long moment just staring up at it before he snorts, shakes his head and settles down next to Phil, offering him a mug. Who is gonna tell the Thing he has to do anything he doesn't want to?]

Natasha
She half expected there to be more fuss around the time that Ethel became 'Dinner' but other than finding out Clint had no idea how to go about cleaning and cooking a fish, there was a relieving lack of chaos.
With most of the dinner cooked or cooking (using both floors' kitchens, with the amount of food required to feed the group possibly coming), she slips away to get ready and reappears down on Clint's floor a little after the first guests start arriving. She's dressed casually but warmly. A pair of jeans and a cream sweater, her hair left loose and wavy.
She spends most of the night mingling and fetching things for Coulson and stealing food here and there, usually found with a glass of something in her hand. While the Christmas party thing isn't usually her style, she puts a friendly face on for it and actually finds herself enjoying it.]
Natasha
So you are Clint Barton's b.g.f., yes?

Henry
But considering the overall mood of the party and the awesome gift he got from Santa he's forgotten his depression for today. Right now he's kind of wandering about the party, weaving in out between the taller guests (because everyone's taller than him.
At times he can be found getting a plate load of food and eating it all.
Others, he's sitting off by himself.]

Next to him is a nice, big plate full of pastries and other edible things, accompanied by a large glass of lemonade (oh how this feast is lacking shaken milk).
Sometimes he heads out to talk with people, but for once, actually, he prefers the book above anything social.]

Eventually he'll be dragging Teddy, Sabriel, and Loki to his apartment- where he has a TV and video game station
stolenborrowed from the rec center and set up across from the fireplace, couches set up around it and more snacks than they should legally be allowed, with a couple of games and controllers waiting for them. And they are going to play Mario Kart. All night. Yes. (Or until they get bored, or play something else, whatever. They're teenagers, they do what they want.)And the hax will totally not be used.

Ben Grimm
He's happy to just hand out food, keep the kitchen stocked and just make sure everyone's enjoying themselves. To the end of the night he might be found settled near a window, looking out at unfamiliar stars and thinking of home.
He'll duck out to restock cider, beer, and cocoa midway through and have a heck of a time making it back, but he will. It'll just take awhile.]
Steve
So for the length of the party he'll be trying to cover up the hideous piece of clothing, eating, and trading jokes at each others expense with Bucky whenever they meet.]
Steve
Wow, Barnes really wasn't kidding when he said he wasn't sure who'd come off worse.

Bearing gifts of food and a few wrapped packages she hadn't given the night before, Adele mingles for a short while. An hour, perhaps two before she has to duck back out and head home. ]
