(no subject)

Who: Anyone
What: The first strategy game club meeting
When: January 16, from 10 til dinner
Where: Battle Dome
Summary: Strategy game dorks get together and... play games.
Rating: PG I guess? XTREME GO PLAYING

[Video, approximately 9 o'clock in the morning.]

[From your friendly neighborhood god of dickbags.] As a reminder, I shall have a room set up in the Battle Dome from 10 o'clock onward for those who would like to meet and play strategy games. My thanks to Lady Rapunzel for the refreshments she will bring.

[Action]

[The room is set up to be comfortable more than anything else. Lots of tables of varying sizes, lots of different sorts of chairs or benches depending upon what you might find comfortable. Loki's taste is reflected mostly in the fact that everything is neat, wooden, and arranged in elegant geometries. The room is of course well-lit with a few braziers around mostly for effect, though they do produce a gentle amount of warmth. Acoustics in the room have been carefully tuned so that no matter how many people turn up, people will have enough quiet for their games and conversation.

A table off to one side has some sandwiches on it, and is plainly the place where refreshments for sharing should be deposited.

Loki has also raided the item shop, so there are several chess sets of various designs, two go sets, two games of Risk, a mancala set, and a game called Small World available for general use. ]

Are we talking not permanent as in 'lingering spirits with grudges' or not permanent as in 'genuine resurrection'? I admit, the second one would be new.

Scale's different for different people. Gods have different scales to the Sidhe, have different scales to humans.
abjurer: (Oh fuck bad things)

Huh... convenient. Kind of. Still not keen on testing it out though.

[Max shrugs dismissively.]

People, humans, plan for five years, ten. Maybe fifty if you're really forward thinking. because that's a lifetime for us.

Some things live for a hell of a lot longer so five years is kind of... nothing. I mean, my grandmother is nearly three hundred and she kind of loses track of how time works. You live for more than a thousand years, I imagine it gets worse.

I guess so.

[Or he could just attempt to avoid dying altogether. That would work, right?

He looked thoughtful at that and then shrugged.]

I guess. I've never met anyone who tried to do that. It's probably messy.

[There's something about Loki's voice for a moment that grabs his attention and he looks up from the board. the man is hard to read. Not unexpected.]

Seen enough magic backfire to not want to see any more.

Maybe... you have to learn somehow though. Some people just don't realise what they're getting into.

I'm not sure you can fully comprehend magic anyway. Or not where I'm from at least. Too many branches, too many different kinds...

[He gave that a thought for a moment, a small smile on his lips.]

Being a god with a much longer life span probably helps a little. There's so much I would study given the chance.

Unfortunately people tend to have to have pesky things like jobs which detract from the pursuit of pure knowledge. Getting the funding to dedicate yourself to studies like that is tough.

Well, we can't all be gods and I can't change the whole world to suit my whim to not have to get up in a morning to work. Mores the pity.
