[Video, approximately 9 o'clock in the morning.]

[From your friendly neighborhood god of dickbags.] As a reminder, I shall have a room set up in the Battle Dome from 10 o'clock onward for those who would like to meet and play strategy games. My thanks to Lady Rapunzel for the refreshments she will bring.

[Action]

[The room is set up to be comfortable more than anything else. Lots of tables of varying sizes, lots of different sorts of chairs or benches depending upon what you might find comfortable. Loki's taste is reflected mostly in the fact that everything is neat, wooden, and arranged in elegant geometries. The room is of course well-lit with a few braziers around mostly for effect, though they do produce a gentle amount of warmth. Acoustics in the room have been carefully tuned so that no matter how many people turn up, people will have enough quiet for their games and conversation.

A table off to one side has some sandwiches on it, and is plainly the place where refreshments for sharing should be deposited.

Loki has also raided the item shop, so there are several chess sets of various designs, two go sets, two games of Risk, a mancala set, and a game called Small World available for general use. ]

[In addition to the games for everyone's use, Loki has a personal chess set, go set, and has made a Hnefatafl board. He'll be happy to teach anyone a game that he knows, and will be very curious about learning new games.

Other than that, he's also just happy to talk with people who share his enthusiasm for games. And since he put this thing together, he'll also play host and do his best to make sure no one is sitting by themselves and staring forlornly at a chess board with no one to play.]

[...in all honesty, he's nothing of the kind. He's reasonably happy and excited about this diversion, but it's thin cover for the utter depression he's starting to feel.]

[Spock tilts his head... interesting thing about being a touch-telepath/empath is that you learn how to read people from a distance.

I am curious though, as to why you decided to run such an event, as it seems something your younger counterpart more likely to do. [He's not judging... just curious.]

[Jonas is remarkably sure that this is a bit of a bad idea, but...eh. There's no point in avoiding Loki or any other Villain of the Week that might show uo, as he's pretty certain there's not much damage they can do that they haven't tried already.


Besides, how many people get the opportunity to play chess with gods? He'll no doubt be a better match then Jarvis, even if Jonas has the unfair advantage of having a super computer for a brain. He smiles politely at the man, nodding in greeting.]

I don't believe we've met. While I appreciate that my infamy tends to proceed me, perhaps you ought to introduce yourself?

We have not met before, no, but I have heard of you and your actions many times.

[Call him paranoid, but he doesn't trust Loki with his chosen name.]

[He's feeling a little more settled by now. Having clothes and an apartment might have something to do with that. The thin band of woven yarn wrapped around his left wrist might have more to do with it. It's not anywhere near full strength yet, but he's going slow for now, building it up, because there's some curious limits on his power here and he doesn't want to push it.

Still, it's nice to not be completely vulnerable.

The strategy games club sounds like it could be fun. He's not bad at chess, although he's not going to be winning any championships any time soon.

He arrives a little past ten, spotting the guy who had made the announcement, and heads over.]

[He raises an eyebrow at the name given. Huh. He tries to hold himself back for a moment but no, how can he hold back?]

So, are you really the Trickster or do you just come from a very devout family?

[it can't get into the place that people have been going into, but it does remember that the book can call people to it like magic!

...not that it knows how to do that.

it'll nudge at the book for awhile after the video post and eventually get it to respond to it, which - when it finally chimes in - sounds like cold and frantic sounding chirping in frustration]

[Loki recognizes that! It's been so long since he's seen the little traveler, he'd been a bit worried.

He opens the door to let him in.]

[ River arrives a little later in the afternoon and hangs back a little at first, just watching the room and the games that go on. The space reminds her of the glimpses of the Companion Houses that she got through Inara and it's comforting. Not really home but it's not an overwhelming space either. The games to play simply makes it more interesting.

She eventually drifts over to Loki when he's unoccupied. ]

[Konan has not only brought a game of shogi for the strategy game club members to enjoy, but she's also brought a game of go. She arrives around 11am.]

[The former national junior champion of Japan dares. In fact, Ami is quite looking forward to a match. It's been awhile, and besides, she already knows Spock will give her a good game, and a good challenge. She smiles politely as she approaches him.]

[Spock looks up from his manual, and his lips twitch in a half-smile at Miss Mizuno...]

Of course. [Spock nods, and gestures to a table... taking out a seat for Ami to sit in... ever the Vulcan gentleman.]

[It's possible to play some of the games without it, but those that require reading will be difficult without help.]

[Billy doesn't make it until after school/training, but he wanted to catch as much of the meeting as he could, so he's showing up right after training, conveniently held in the Battle Dome itself. As such, he's in uniform unless he decides at some point to change.

He'll spend equal time watching the games of the other attendees and playing them himself, favouring chess, though he's not opposed to trying anything else. He's just eager to be a part of something he so obviously enjoys. Don't mind him hanging over your shoulder!]
