It's Pancake Day!

Who: Anyone and everyone!
What: A feast of pancakes in honour of Shrove Tuesday.
When: Tuesday February 5th
Where: CH7, ground floor
Summary: Truly a feast day second only to Christmas!
Rating: PG/PG-13 for language if someone gets burned on the stove or hit by exploding magical pancake batter.

All of the ingredients have been gathered and are laid out when Max finally gets up that morning. More eggs and milk and flour than he's ever seen in one place and maybe he'd gone a bit overboard with it, but he didn't know how many people would be showing up. It wasn't as though they could use the rest of it some other time.

[At first Beast took no interest in the invitation... but then there was the mention of crêpes and he took a whole new light on the message. They didn't have these things much at home, but he remembers them being something special for winter, he thinks?

Except these "crêpes" look much thicker and fluffier than his memory tells him. Were they not really thin and flat?]

[In all honestly, the appearance is something of a shock at first glance. But well, the guy had turned up and was looked a little baffled and somewhat hopeful so Max heads over.]

Hey. Not a fan?

[Beast looks up upon hearing the voice, not quite sure what he means.] A... "fan"?

You don't like them? We have a bunch of different kinds if you want. These aren't what I'm used to either.

Oh. [He meant the... crêpes?] I didn't know there were... different kinds.

[abjurer]

American pancakes are these thick fluffy ones. I'm more used to the real thin ones.

You mean... some are thinner?

[abjurer]

Yeah. The ones like crepes.

[tailasoldastime]

Oh, right... crêpes! [He starts to smile as the man speaks a language he understands.] Where can I find them?

[Max smiles back and stands up.]

Give me a second and I'll grab you a plate. There should be another batch ready...

[He wanders off for a moment and returns with a plate of several crepes stacked on top of each other.]

There. Enjoy. There's plenty of toppings to go around.
