What: Vivi's birthday party
When: February 2nd, afternoon and into the evening
Where: the hot springs
Summary: It's Vivi's birthday, and Nami arranged a little surprise gathering for her friend.
Rating: probably not above PG-13 for language and possible hot spring ~hijinx~.

[Nami's suggestion that they spend the day up at the hot springs was one Vivi happily accepted, not suspecting that there was more in store than just a day with her friend. It's with surprised delight that she steps from the teleporter to find the place decorated, and throughout the day, many of her friends arriving to wish her a happy birthday.]

[The main hall has been decorated with balloons and streamers, and there's a large banner reading "Happy Birthday, Vivi!" hung from the front rafter. Off to the side is a large table stocked with all sorts of food (go nuts; whatever you can imagine, Sanji probably made) and of course an enormous and elaborately decorated birthday cake. The other side of the hall has some games set up: pin the tail on the donkey, twister, and a ping-pong table.]

[Outside, the privacy screen has been slid back to join the men's and women's sides of the springs, and it should go without saying that people will be expected to wear swimsuits into the water. The trees are hung with more streamers, with strings of lights and some decorative lanterns for after the sun begins to set. There's a smaller table of refreshments out here, too.]

[There's also plenty of alcohol on hand, though juice and soft drinks are available for those who don't want (or are too young) to drink. Later in the evening, there's a high possibility of a party game like Truth or Dare starting up. (Thread here!)]

[It wouldn't surprise him to know Robin's already caught wind of his mood; she always seems to. But for now, he gives himself into his usual antics, which if nothing else are honest in their silliness]

Don't be like that Robin-chwaaaan~! You know my heart is only for you, Vivi-chan, and Nami-san! [A-and maybe someone else but we do not speak her name when she's possibly in earshot]

Oh is that so? I'm glad to hear it.

[She then proceeds to do the most transparent move she's ever done. Are you ready for it?]

It's kind of humid in here, ne? It's almost unbearable. [And she'll take her shirt off to reveal her bikini top. She'll fold it up and look at Sanji over her shoulder]

Braid my hair out of the way for me, Sanji-kun?

[Dear god in heaven, Robin, you could put out someone's eyes with those!]

[Transparent or not, Sanji quite literally trips over his feet to reach her.]

Awaaaah, at your command~! [Never mind Robin could easily do it herself with just a few gestures and some extra hands. Oh yes, he sees what you've done there.

Once he's out of his love-sick haze, how worried should he be?]

[Not worried at all. This is out of pure homespun nakama compassion and not in any way showing a certain ghost girl what she's up against should she choose to pursue a certain chef's affections. Why would Robin ever do a thing like that?

Not that she particularly minds the pursuit.

[She's laying it on a bit thick but that's what she loves about you, Sanji. It can be laid on with a herd of stampeding elephants and you'd be too gentlemanly and love struck to say so]

[Being the simpleton he is, Sanji wouldn't come to that conclusion in the first place. You're in the clear, lady. And plus he gets to braid Robin's hair!

Nothing but innocent things are happening over here.]

Sometimes I forget how much longer Robin-chan's hair has gotten. [Not to say he isn't used to her new style, but he hasn't forgotten the shorter crop that hung closer to her shoulders, either. Very carefully he divides her hair into three parts-- and then suddenly utters a short laugh under his breath.]

[It's not entirely catty, truly. She does enjoy Sanji-kun's company after all, and even if she was doing this mostly to cheer him up, she's finding comfort in it as well. Though she wonders about the laugh]

Hmm? Something funny?

Aa... a little. [The chuckles have died down, but he's still smiling as he begins folding the hair over.]

I just realized the only reason I know how to braid hair is because I've braided bread first. [It always goes straight back to the kitchen with him]

Braid bread? [she's never heard of that but now that she thinks about it but actually...] Ah, yes, I think I remember seeing that before. What is it called?

You can braid any type of bread you want - most times it's just for shitty decorative purposes.

[He hums, finally reaching the bottom of Robin's hair] But I remember reading on some different kinds; some eaten on specific days. I think one was called Challah...

Specific days? [She perks a bit at that, though faintly disappointed that he's done so soon. Ah well. It was nice while it lasted]

You mean like holidays or festivals?

[concasse]

Exactly~! Robin-chwan's so quick-minded~! [Not that Sanji was being particularly ambiguous]

Like that Challah bread - I think it's eaten on something called the Sabbath? [My goodness this thread is getting meta] I didn't get a chance to read any further than that.

[She is anyway, and she'll take that as her due, thank you, Sanji-kun. The word is familiar and she's come across it before and makes a mental note to look it up again later]

I'd like to taste it some time. [She leans back a little to look up at him] In fact, I think we should make our own holiday, ne? A pirates holiday. No marines [or strange irritating Vulcans] invited unless they want to help serve drinks.

[And who would trust those drinks if they did?]

[The very thought reminds Sanji of their parties back home - after every new step forward - and he grins in delight]

I like the way Robin-chan thinks! [He smiles, glancing upward] And what better place to celebrate than on the sea? [Maybe not the open sea, but he'll take it]

... Might have to make some special shitty food for the occasion, too. Just for pirates.

Ah, the sea, yes. It would be good to be on a boat again...

[even if they could still see the land, just to be out there on the waves with the sea breeze... Though it will be far less than Sanji usually has to cook, but she tries not to dwell on that.]

What would you make?

There's the question, eh... [Off the top of his head, Sanji doesn't know what he would make. Nothing immediately strikes him as pirate-y]

All I know for certain is there better be plenty of booze; otherwise the shithead'll mow through it before we get a taste.

Perhaps it just has to be very potent. You know I've always wondered about the limits of his alcohol tolerance. It would be fun to find out, ne?

[Because a raging drunk Zoro seems like it would be quite amusing]

We'll just have to hope he keeps his clothes on.

[First Sanji starts laughing.

Then he just looks on horrified]

Robin-chan, there are some things that aren't meant to be joked about! [A naked, drunk Zoro is one of them. Sanji already got an eyeful thirty minutes ago]
