What: Vivi's birthday party

Where: the hot springs
Summary: It's Vivi's birthday, and Nami arranged a little surprise gathering for her friend.
Rating: probably not above PG-13 for language and possible hot spring ~hijinx~.

[Nami's suggestion that they spend the day up at the hot springs was one Vivi happily accepted, not suspecting that there was more in store than just a day with her friend. It's with surprised delight that she steps from the teleporter to find the place decorated, and throughout the day, many of her friends arriving to wish her a happy birthday.]

[The main hall has been decorated with balloons and streamers, and there's a large banner reading "Happy Birthday, Vivi!" hung from the front rafter. Off to the side is a large table stocked with all sorts of food (go nuts; whatever you can imagine, Sanji probably made) and of course an enormous and elaborately decorated birthday cake. The other side of the hall has some games set up: pin the tail on the donkey, twister, and a ping-pong table.]

[Outside, the privacy screen has been slid back to join the men's and women's sides of the springs, and it should go without saying that people will be expected to wear swimsuits into the water. The trees are hung with more streamers, with strings of lights and some decorative lanterns for after the sun begins to set. There's a smaller table of refreshments out here, too.]

[There's also plenty of alcohol on hand, though juice and soft drinks are available for those who don't want (or are too young) to drink. Later in the evening, there's a high possibility of a party game like Truth or Dare starting up. (Thread here!)]

[Vivi is currently peeling some mikan, absently humming as she works. The peels are dropped into a small bowl for use later, and the fruit separated and deposited into a large bowl, though quite a few of the sections make their way into Vivi's mouth, and even more into Carue's. Maybe part of it is due to Carue's presence, but somehow the idea of turning another year older here--another year spent away from Alabasta--doesn't bother her right now. Instead she feels a kind of subdued joy. Not just because it's her birthday. Today will be a good day; she can feel it.]

[That's a good feeling you have there, Vivi.

Nami makes her presence known by dropping a pile of towels onto the kitchen table, addressing her friend cheerfully.] Hope you've got no solid plans today. We're going out.

[Marco's over by the bottles - oh yes, hope you were expecting drunk pirates to play truth or dare and other games - but carefully away from the hot springs in case anyone gets too rowdy. Drowning isn't fun you know. Marco's got a good box behind his back all wrapped up in blue, and of course, covered in freaking sparkles.]

[Y'know, shopping for a princess required more creativity than initially Sanji assumed. Jewelry of any sort was out for obvious reasons, never mind Vivi didn't seem to share Nami's love of the shiny, and he didn't trust his taste in clothing to spring for an outfit. Really, any of the usual gifts just didn't seem to fit his nakama's tastes.

But he's got a little something tucked under his arm all the same, and with that in mind, Sanji hunts down the birthday girl wherever she might be]

[When she gets to the party, Robin first seeks Vivi out. She is holding a small book with her that appears to be handmade]

Happy birthday, Vivi-san.

I knew there was something I was suppose to tag.

[While Alexei doesn't mind taking a dip in the hot spring, he had no interest in doing that with a huuuuuge crowd of people he half knew here. No, he's going to choose to speak with anyone that isn't in the springs and enjoy the food while looking for Vivi. Speaking of, there she is.]

[Mwahaha. Job done, Nami settles back to relax in the water and keep half an eye on the others here. She's quite content to kick back and do nothing much at all. At least until the food gets here. >>

It's nice, isn't it? [she stirs her legs through the water a bit] Are you having fun, Nami-chan?

["Expected"? Swimsuits? Oh, please. Zoro's gonna be freeballing it up on the men's side, because nothing says Hot Spring Adventures like unexpected nakedness. Ladies~

Anyway, the water's quite nice. Come on in!

And if anyone needs a more clothed Zoro, feel free to catch him at the ping-pong table trying to play with three paddles. No, he's not drunk, why do you ask.]

Well, never fear! Because your navigator's on the case, sailing out of hammerspace left field and KICKING YOU FACE FIRST INTO THE WATER, SHRIEKING THE ENTIRE TIME.]

[And because Zoro truly cannot catch a break in any form or in any world, the moment he recovers from Nami's assault, he'll be staring down a very pale and traumatized looking Ghost Princess. Nice to see you, too Zoro.

It takes about three seconds after her face screws up into a look of horrified disgust that she shrieks and nails her dear not!brother right in the face with a fist and two hollows.]

WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING?!

[Oh oh oh! 8D Is there an abuse-train happening in the springs? Sanji wants in!

ROUND THREE: Hollow'd Zoro vs Sanji's foot.]

[Robin will just watch him. Men's side or no makes no difference. But if she happens to catch his eye, she'll say]

[Marco doesn't even seem fazed by Zoro's total nudity. After all, Marco is a Whitebeard pirate and they're practically all exhibitionists. And yet from seemingly out of nowhere there's a bunch of cat-calls and whistles.]

[Spoiler, it's totally coming from the bird guy.]

[Sometime after the Zoro-abuse train has left the station, and after his loins are safely girded, Vivi will take a seat next to him in the water.]

Mr Bushido. [She may or may not be aware of the earlier incidents (okay, she's totally aware), and from behind her back, she draws a bottle of cold beer, pressing it gently against a bruised-looking bump on his temple.]

[You can thank the resident chef for most of the food provided at the party, naturally, and he's quite proud of the spread, considering the circumstances.

-- Circumstances that are rendering his behavior a little off, if you know him well enough to catch the strain in his otherwise good cheer. His smile is sometimes too broad, his voice often times not carrying his mood through, and the pauses between conversations a little too laden with distraction. Tiny, minuscule details most people are likely to miss, but whatever. It's Vivi-chan's big day, like hell he'll be anything less than glad to be here.

Catch him wherever, though chances are he'll bound right up to any pretty or scantily-clad lady he sees... and occasionally you assholes called men >_> Yes, he can pay attention to you bastards, too.]

[Robin can tell. Of course she can. But there is little to do about it here and Sanji will tell her if he wishes. So the most she can do is smile and have a good time for his benefit. She'll approach him when he seems to have a minute between fawning over other ladies]

Be careful, Sanji-kun. I might get jealous. [But she's teasing, of course]

[Perona's really only at this party for the food, the booze, and for Vivi. She's trying rather hard to keep as far from Nami and Robin as she can, instead interacting with the other guests and the birthday girl herself, mostly. She'll be hanging around the edges of the water mostly, almost always with a drink in hand or fiddling with her long hair - tying it up of in a braid behind her.

Though not required, she still brought Vivi a gift as well, which is set somewhere safe. Feel free to bother the Ghost Princess as she lounges, sighing at the warm water and trying very hard to ignore certain pirate folk around her.]

[Vivi notices Perona sitting off by herself, and comes over, sinking down into the water next to her.] Thank you for coming, Perona-san! Are you enjoying yourself?

[Norma's all over this party, trying desperately hard not to be bothered by all these beautiful, busy females surrounding her. It's distressing, okay, considering her previous entry about her chest size and the fact that nearly everyone she's seen thus far is a beautiful, curvaceous female and she's...not. Thankfully, though, she can put on a decent enough mask and she's properly gotten a few drinks in her system during the festivities. Nothing extreme, but enough to relieve little Norma here of a few of her reservations.

She, too, also brought Vivi a little gift and will present it to her in due time. Right now, she's going to jump right on into that water and relax a bit, okayokay.]

[Vivi laughs as Norma's jump into the spring causes her to be hit with a large splash of water.]

Norma-san! That's quite a flashy entrance. [Or should that be splashy?] I'm so glad you could come!

[Aang's had enough of moping; it's time for him to stop being sad and be awesome instead.

That's why he decides to show himself on the party, try to let any sad recent events blow away into an unoccupied corner of his mind, and keeps his mind in the present. Being here, having fun at a party and being with some of his new friends.

He'll be excitably making his way all over the place, primarily wearing just some orange shorts. Aang spends some time in the actual springs, missing the point by treating it as a pool and splashing around in it - as well as practicing some Waterbending! But he also spends lots of time inside trying out all the games. He likes this "Twister"!]

[Vivi will run into him near the food table.]

Aang-kun! Thank you for coming! Are you having a good time?

[Vivi and Nami both had already known what he truly looked like. And the way she described the other pirates... it just felt right leaving behind the holo-watch for the day. For his new friend.

So he bamfs in about half an hour into the party - which he has determined to be "fashionably late", wearing a very bright beach ensemble. And he immediately announces his presence, the cloud of smoke and brimstone smell still fresh around him.]

Hang tight, everyone! The party's just arrived!

[And... yeah. Kurt will basically be trying to be a social butterfly, hanging around in all parts of the springs, playing various games and talking people up.]

[Later in the evening, a group gathers in the warm main hall for that most time-honored of birthday party games: Truth or Dare! It's possible by this time that a few of the participants might be a little tipsy (or a lot tipsy) after imbibing on the booze so thoughtfully provided.]

[This is a party at the hot springs, he doesn't know Vivi terribly well (just well enough to work out a present), and his luck here is in noway great. No way, shape, or form. So he's here to get in, get out, and then go about his day.

So there's a boy with a tail showing up to hit some table he can set down a rather simple cake with a rather simple card wishing Vivi a happy birthday and signing his name. Just in, out, good.

He can be intercepted in either of these endeavors (the in and the out)]

[Vivi spies Rin while he takes the time to sign his card, and hurries over. Her hair is still a little damp, but she's wearing a fluffy robe over her swimsuit.] Rin-kun! I'm glad you could come!

[She assumes he just arrived, as she notes he's wearing actual clothes and not swim trunks, and this is the first she's spotted him.]
