Who: Anyone who wants to come!
What: Vivi's birthday party
When: February 2nd, afternoon and into the evening
Where: the hot springs
Summary: It's Vivi's birthday, and Nami arranged a little surprise gathering for her friend.
Rating: probably not above PG-13 for language and possible hot spring ~hijinx~.

[Nami's suggestion that they spend the day up at the hot springs was one Vivi happily accepted, not suspecting that there was more in store than just a day with her friend. It's with surprised delight that she steps from the teleporter to find the place decorated, and throughout the day, many of her friends arriving to wish her a happy birthday.]

[The main hall has been decorated with balloons and streamers, and there's a large banner reading "Happy Birthday, Vivi!" hung from the front rafter. Off to the side is a large table stocked with all sorts of food (go nuts; whatever you can imagine, Sanji probably made) and of course an enormous and elaborately decorated birthday cake. The other side of the hall has some games set up: pin the tail on the donkey, twister, and a ping-pong table.]

[Outside, the privacy screen has been slid back to join the men's and women's sides of the springs, and it should go without saying that people will be expected to wear swimsuits into the water. The trees are hung with more streamers, with strings of lights and some decorative lanterns for after the sun begins to set. There's a smaller table of refreshments out here, too.]

[There's also plenty of alcohol on hand, though juice and soft drinks are available for those who don't want (or are too young) to drink. Later in the evening, there's a high possibility of a party game like Truth or Dare starting up. (Thread here!)]

[Robin will settle next to her with her feet in the water, but not yet ready to get in herself]

It's nice, isn't it? [she stirs her legs through the water a bit] Are you having fun, Nami-chan?

So far so good. [Nami tilts her head back to meet Robin's gaze, and gives a rueful grin.] I'll take the moments where I can.

Always a good idea. [She lifts a foot from the water, absently watching the water drip from it, before tucking it under her other leg] The moments seem to come easier these days. [at least for her. Though perhaps it's because the definition of good moments has expanded to moments which are not actively bad]

[Nami smiles at that, though her eyes skim vacantly across the water to the other guests. She'll just ... change the subject, okay.]

I saw you were talking to Perona earlier. You guys getting along?

She seems a difficult woman to form any sort of relationship with. [Other than vague irritation]

I think she prefers it that way.

Maybe but I wonder... [It's difficult to say if she wants to keep her distance or is just used to it] I suppose it doesn't matter at this moment...

It doesn't. You know she tried to steal our ship at Thriller Bark? And she's the one that stopped Luffy from escaping having his shadow taken. As far as I'm concerned, she's an enemy until she damn well can at least exchange two polite words with the majority of us.

[Robin had done just as bad if not worse herself once upon a time but what Nami says is true.]

I don't mind meeting in the middle but it seems as if she doesn't wish to meet at all.

[She glances idly at her own reflection in the water, stirred as it is by heat and bubbles]

I wonder what Luffy would say.

Luffy would make faces and call her names. And then roll around on the floor hating himself for the next few minutes until the hollows wear off.

[Said with the precise analysis of someone who has watched exactly this happen.]

[She laughs softly at the description and then sighs because it hurts a bit. Oh, Luffy. She's glad that he's back where he belongs but sometimes...]

That's true, ne... And that power of hers...

[she shakes her head] I suppose we'll have to stay on guard. [because inasmuch as the girl might care for Sanji-kun, and she can't even judge how much right now, Robin doesn't trust her not to use it on them. That kind of emotion is the last thing either of them need]

I think generally she's harmless. I tend to give her a wide berth anyway, so as long as her friendship with Vivi is genuine, it's fine.

[By 'wide berth' she might mean troll at every opportunity, but shh.]

I see. [So she doesn't know. Well perhaps she'll discover during this party. In either case, nakama or not, Robin doesn't think it's her place to say anything about Perona's interest in Sanji--or vice versa? Still its troubleseome...]

I suppose it must be. [Vivi seems the kind to be able to make friends easily.]

[Oh, Nami knows. She just doesn't want to ruin Vivi's party by mayhaps picking a fight on this fine day. She and Perona have a long interrogation session coming up in the future.

Her point still stands, though.]
