[Natasha angles herself towards the other woman when she sits, her knee brushing against Pepper's when she settles next to her.] Well, the fun part seems to have been a given, when we're not chasing after your boyfriend. Although I suppose he's a good a reason as any to commiserate over.

[That prompts an eyeroll and a bemused scoff.] Of course he did. I'm not even surprised.

[Vastra gets a vague smile for that deduction and one shoulder lifting in a shrug.] Am I not allowed to just be cynical?

[She lets it go at that, because Natasha is fairly adaptable and it's not hard to understand that outlook - if it's genuine, which is a little difficult to tell at the moment, but she's not thinking into it too hard. She lifts her glass, finishing off her drink and nodding.] They are, from what I've seen. And four years gives you a long time to make other connections here. You're hardly alone, I'd wager.

Pepper's a smart woman. And I don't think you have anything to be nervous about, from what I saw. [She casts him a wry smile as she tucks her hands underneath her to keep them warm, studying him thoughtfully.] It's something you enjoy, that you're good at.

Well, you get points for being observant and intelligent, at least. [There's humor in her voice as she offers him her hand, a sign of acceptance and willingness to give this a try.] Also good to know that's not sending you running in the other direction.

14th - flower shop

She laughed at the quiet click of the lock, her ears picking up the soft sound as she turned and faced him fully. "Glad you approve," she replied as she took a step back towards him again. She stretched out one hand to rest against his chest as she gave him a light nudge back against the door. "So, about this letting off some steam..."

It's getting better, slowly. The war is over now, and we're working on dismantling or disposing of the magitechnology that fueled the war, so the world has a chance to recover.

[She smiles when he holds the door open for her automatically, the gesture not missed, even though he probably thinks nothing of it. She reaches out, tucking her arm in his as she tugs him out with her, content to be pressed close and warm against his side.]

Well. We'll just have to wear you out enough tonight that you can fully enjoy the opportunity to sleep in in the morning. [It's said with a teasing smile and a flirtatious glint in her eye as she tugs him out of the Battle Dome and into the cold night beyond.]
