Ha. The first time Chouji was kidnapped, I realized I'd have to fend for myself sometimes. [A bit of solemnity slips into his tone with that, a glance away, but he moves from it.] I got recipes from Sanji then.

[Both him and Masaomi do the cooking. He's cooked a few times for Temari as well...]

That's right. [Her voice is quiet.] I remember that.

[She glances away.] I still miss him, you know.

[She still misses him, but... she glanced back at Shikamaru sharply then, a particular narrow tilt to her eyes, one that occurred just as she figured something out.] I'd miss you too.

[He was looking, hunched over, into the fridge for sandwich fixings when that stops him. He slowly straightens, reaching out to hold the fridge door with a hand.

That look like he's solving a puzzle is on his face again when he turns to see her.]

If that were the point, I guess I would. [But it's not. One corner of his mouth turns up.] If wouldn't stop me from missing you every time I walked by your house, or made castles out of pebbles on the beach.

I'm not doing too much right now... I have a shift at the clinic in a little while and then I have to get home in time to make dinner, but other than that...
