What: Rock hunting!

Summary: Grumpy pants Smoker needs a pick me up and what better way to do it than trolling him relentlessly. Our lovely volunteers received a painted rock and a note - after that it's up to them.

It didn't take long to find all his "volunteers," but once he had, he gave them their rocks and sent Smoker a message.

Notice anything missing? I have what belongs to you. Come find them and you'll find me.

Stealing what technically belonged to the Marine was a good enough reason for the grumbly man to come out, but it helped that Souji left the thief's name and identity as prize for finding all the appropriate rocks.

He just didn't need to mention he had sent decoys out as well.

[ooc; Post with your character as a top level and Smoker will find them to talk and retrieve the rocks. Go crazy! Make him sing, dance, stand on his head, whatever you feel like as long as players involved are cool with it. ...also no one saw me post to the wrong comm. orz]

[Derek found 'his' rock on the night stand next to his bed in the medward. He reads the note, frowns, give the rock a glare, as if it was doing this to him on purpose, and then will get up and get dressed before pocketing the rock and setting off for his morning walk around the fountain.

...He's just hoping whoever comes looking for the thing isn't prone to violence.]

[Grumps around the fountain, looking for rocks and grumbling loudly to himself.]

Stupid fucking asinine jerk. First he makes me paint the god damn rocks, then he makes me hunt them down!

[Rocks. Grumpy man. Searching.

...Might be this guy.

Derek won't say anything for the moment, just listen and watch Smoker out of the corner of his eye to see what the guy was like...and whether or not he seemed likely to get any more...irritated than he already was.]

[It's Smoker, there's always room for more irritation. Irritation is like jello for him, but with more bowel obstruction.]

Hey. Derek. Have you seen justice painted rocks around?

...I...know you.

[And here the hunter thought all of his former Luceti contacts were accounted for.]

I don't know. What do they look like?

Yeah. I was kind of surprised to see you back too. I guess I've been out of the loop.

Like a rock. [Holds up a fist.] About that big. Painted with the emblem for justice on one side. [Turns around to show off the back of his jacket.] That.

So am I. I don't have the memories to go with the time I spent here.

[Derek listens to the description, frowns a little.]

Wait a sec.

[He'll go digging into one of the pockets in the inner lining of his jacket, bring out the rock and lay it flat in the palm of his hand.]

Like this?

Understood. It's been known to happen before. I'm Smoker, by the way. White Hunter. We usually talked motorcycles.

[Nods.] Could be mine. If it's painted. Mind if I ask where you got it?

Motorcycles. I cna see that.

[Derek shrugs.]

It was on the nightstand, had a note that said someone would be looking for it at some point. Not sure where it came from, though.

Tch. Probably an idiot wannabe ninja who's trying to get my attention. Well he damn well has it now.

Can I have it back?

[Waits for a catch.]

Sure it isn't someone you know? Sounds like a prank a friend would pull, to be honest.

[He'll consider the rock before tossing it lightly at Smoker.]

Yeah. Okita. Wannabe ninja. First he made me paint the damn things, then he steals them. Idget.

[Catches! And nods.] Thanks.

No problem.

...Pretty sure he's got a reason for doing it, though. Doesn't strike me as stupid. Indirect, maybe, but not stupid.

[Snorts.] He's not stupid, just annoying. He keeps trying to give me heart attacks.

Literally.

With hearts.

[He's not going to laugh. No, he won't.

He can't keep from grinning, though.]

...Should I ask what color?

Red, pink, purple, blue. It was a fucking rainbow of valentine hearts.

[Okay, maybe he will at least chuckle a little]

Well, could be worse, I guess. Could have been stuffed animals.

Don't give him any ideas.

He'd do it too. And I've seen from Ikki how long it took him to get rid of those carnival plushies.

I...seriously doubt he'd need my help on that score.

[But he's definitely getting a much clearer picture of what Okita was like...

He made a note to expect weird things in the future.]

[Drags a palm down his face.] Probably not. Doesn't make it any better.

Might as well roll with it; at least there's no harm done.

Except a lot of wasted time and energy that could be spent training.

This could be a kind of training--how to get you stuff back with the least amount of aggravation.

[AWKWARD PAUSE. What. Really? Like. Is this how he's supposed to get his jitte back?]

You think so?

Maybe. I'm not him, so...
