This post covers the first day, before the attack. Remember, characters here are not expecting an attack and are under the impression they will be going to Region 1 to fight. During this day, draftees will be restricted to T6 and T7 and not permitted access to other areas.

[Chouji frowns, and Shikamaru knows him well enough to catch signs of nervousness when he continues. The idea of the Shifters still makes Chouji distinctly uncomfortable.] I'm not used to needing quite so many weapons, but I figured I should have them this time.

Still here, when it comes to jutsu, and I'm sure I'll manage even without them.

[a pause] You're probably right about the sword, though. Good thing it's just a loan. [Really, it's an insurance policy in case he manages to run out of kunai and run into a Shifter who nullifies his jutsu. Chouji doesn't plan on using the sword too much, but one significant non-projectile weapon seemed like a good idea.]

[It would be that obvious. Shikamaru picks the tea bag from off of the cup and doesn't question it. He saw himself in the shower. No scars for him; there'd be other details more telling to others.]

The fun thing about bunk beds is, if one hasn't already claimed the top bunk, they can't really be too sure of who's up there. Frey, luckily, will find out about half a minute after he sits down on the lower bed, because that's when Yun swings herself part way down over the edge of the top bed and hangs there, looking at him, while upside-down. It's oddly childish while surrounded by people preparing for a battle, but she doesn't particularly seem to care. ]

[ Cheerful as ever, Yun is. It's been awhile since they last spoke, hasn't it? This is as good an excuse as any, at least. ]

Rogue shut her eyes and responded, lingering. As far as she was concerned, this was 'goodbye' until they got back safely to Luceti.

It's better to at least try to eat. Who knows what the rations will be like when we get out there.

He had no intention of it being any sort of goodbye either. After one lingering kiss, he went for another one, more teasing. "We will not be so far apart during this, you know."
