This post covers the first day, before the attack. Remember, characters here are not expecting an attack and are under the impression they will be going to Region 1 to fight. During this day, draftees will be restricted to T6 and T7 and not permitted access to other areas.

I've only run across one in this realm thus far and he was quite whiny.

[As much as he wants to, he knows that going out will only make his condition worse. He thinks for a moment, then looks down at Derek's sword as he considers it.]

I may need to work on my own weapons until late. They haven't seen real combat in a long time.

[Deadpan:] Can't say I've met the guy.

He noted the effort, and appreciated it. "Ah... not recently. The food here isn't terribly interesting." He smiled. "I hope you've not been following my example, however."

She doesn't mean for it to last as long as it does. But the warmth, the support, the anchoring that Derek offers in the loose embrace helps her sort out her mind and lessens the tremors better than were she to try on her own. She'll be better able to focus on her work. Put Ben and the entire battle of tomorrow from her mind. She'll owe him a thank you.

Scarfs and kittens and imagination. She wasn't her usual self, but she was a far sight from the panicking woman he'd seen initially.

"It is, truly, but it's not at it's best right now. I'll take your word for it that it's adorable."

She was leaning against the far wall still when Law and Itachi arrived. Still trembling, still counting under her breath to steady her breathing, and despite her best efforts she did flinch a little when the door opened. Habit that she thought she'd gotten over months ago.

Apparently not.

[At that, Gai's lips curl up into a smirk, and he tosses his head just enough to let his hair flutter a bit.]

The color is all natural, despite what some people may believe. I'm fond of it myself.

"Well, I do like a pretty scarf now and then, I'll admit. But I prefer mine to be decorative rather than warm. So if you did make it look nice enough..."

He laughed. "Well, you can always come for another visit and you might witness the spectacle in person."

As big as you could ever want. Those are all Latin squares, by the way. [He nods at the pages he just handed over before going back to his scribbles.] They're really very similar. Strictly speaking, all Sudoku puzzles are a form of Latin square.

This one isn't, unless you're the sort of person who is into sharing. And unfortunately for you, I'm not that sort of person. You'll have to look somewhere else.

[He's not buying that sheepish expression for a moment.]
