EVENT LOG: ON TODAY'S EPISODE...

Who: Everyone and everyone's evil twin.
What: Drama! Romance! Gripping soliloquies! Otherwise known as our SOAP OPERA EVENT.
When: April 26th - April 30th
Where: All 'round town and coming to a TV guide near you.

Log for any and all events around town during the event. But also feel free to do your own posts as well! And yes, this will be the only mass log for the whole weekend.

[He looked up towards the bird with a shout. There was some sort of telltale sign that made her recognizable, and Jade could remember all those years ago when the baby was stolen by a younger version of that very same bird.

The indignity. Jade let his rage speak for him as he waved his spear in the air.]

Do you have any idea of the mistake you made? You took my daughter! Do you really think I'll let you go?

[He gathers fonic energy around him as he raises a spear. He doesn't want to listen to this bird's explanations. Not in the slightest.]

O violen torrent... Splash!

[ Well good, because the bird didn't HAVE any explanations. Sometimes birds just kidnap babies and they don't need any reasons! Or so that they have a human child to run errands in Luceti or for some inexplicable unexplained evil scheme.

Those things don't matter, though.

The most dramatic possible action that could be taken right now is the mother vulture arrowing down towards Jade, her children all watching over the edge of the nest, and then - suddenly, MAGIC.

Mother! All the nestlings (except Soren, who was this close to giving up on being logical with his tiny charge) cried out as one. All the children with wings (except Soren, because like hell) took to the sky, screaming down after their poor fallen mother, while Ikki found it in her to sob her heart out.

JADE, HOW COULD YOU BREAK THIS HAPPY (?) FAMILY although come to think of it she'd never been treated very nicely by anyone but Soren here, had she. She'd always been the weird one, and Soren had been too, because they both looked so un-vulturelike. And she only had brothers...

This man, why did he keep talking about a daughter? ]

[Maybe she's just critically damaged who knows. Honestly, Jade doesn't care. He'll swat away at any birds that come towards him while unflinchingly marching forward towards the nest. All those youngsters had feathers and beaks - so they most likely weren't his daughter.

He marched straight up to the nest and looked at Ikki sternly, amused by this odd sentiment he was feeling. This was certainly her. She wasn't a vulture or anything. And he called out to her.]

Ikki. That's not your mother. You're my long-lost daughter. Grab your things - we're leaving.

[ And one by one Ikki watched Jade kill all her family members, except Soren (Stay back, kid, he's armed, just keep behind me - ), looking on wide-eyed and gaping.

Still, soap-opera dynamics immediately take over the scene - there's a mysterious man claiming to be her father? Suddenly it all makes sense. She's been the odd girl out all these years because she's a human! She has a family elsewhere! She's magically getting past this tragic event until and unless she needs to dramatically break down later on about her horrific past!

Although Soren's trying to keep her in the nest away from the crazy armed man, Ikki stands up and steps out of the nest into thin air - letting herself fall until she's almost to the ground, where she twists and slows her fall with air. Soren follows close behind, placing himself firmly between Jade and Ikki, but Ikki puts a hand on his head, calmly. ]

You came to take me home? Really? [ Is it time for teary wide eyed dramatic reunions or is the shift not strong enough to force that from Jade? ] Soren...can he come, too?

[ There's no way I'm not coming! ]

[~~Grandpa is proud of Soren~~ He can't but give a slight smile as she puts a hand on his head.]

Yes, yes I have. You'll have your own room and a number of sisters. Your brother Ion is in a wheelchair. He hasn't walked a step since you were taken.

[And he looks up at the bird, sizing it up. It's threat level.]

This is Soren? If he can behave himself, perhaps he can stay. We can negotiate specifics later. It's important that we get moving.

[ Ikki beams up at Jade, feeling completely at ease now that her Real Family has come for her - and sisters! She'd always wanted sisters. Soren's still bristling, but he's at least figured out there isn't any harm coming to Ikki from this quarter - although he's watching you, Matthew Perry.

Time for a DRAMATIC GASP and close up. ]

Since I was taken...then, will he get better if I come back?

[ logic? Soren's also pretty unhappy about the perhaps, just try and stop him old man - but Ikki bounces, cheery. ]

We can leave now! Soren and I don't have anything. Not really, anyway. And he'll behave! He's so, so good. He's my favorite brother. [ Partner! ]

Maybe. He could get better, or he could get worse. We won't know for sure until you meet him again.

[Oh, she's agreeing. He turns and starts to walk back down the mountain trail, motioning for Ikki to follow.]

Very well. So long as he does not attempt to kill or kidnap either of us, I suppose that things shall be fine.

[ Belfours don't do sappy reunions, right? SOAP OPERA LOGIC BE DAMNED.

No, but Ikki is happily trailing along, Soren flying low to the ground after her, ready to put space between the kid and Jade at a moment's notice.

The kill or kidnap remark sets him screeching (he would never ever harm his trainer are you insane) and for the first time today Ikki translates his words true to form. ]

He wouldn't do that! Soren'd never do anything to hurt me, or anyone I cared about. [ Well, assuming those people didn't try to hurt her. Soren knew about Luceti. ] He's my best friend!

[Only a little, that smile was sappy enough for him. But he does briefly cup a hand over her head if she was close enough. He wonders if maybe she could be the cure.

And he raises an eyebrow at the bird's screeching, giving him a hard-to-read look]

I hope he sticks to his word, then. As for me, I'm glad that my family is finally near completion.

[ Luckily for everyone Ikki doesn't know what line his thoughts are taking - YET. Nor does Soren, although he'll glare straight back.

Look, man, although you may have extricated them from the mysterious giant vultures they woke up to, he doesn't trust you an inch. Ikki's his first priority, and he's sticking to her like glue. He's not about to lose another trainer. ]

Near...? Is someone else lost, too, Daddy? [ And she wants to hold his hand now, reaching out for it. ]

Mm, in a sense.

[It's weird having children and having to be... you know, close to them and all. But hand-holding is no big deal. He holds her hand with his own gloved one.]

Your mother is... I suppose you could say she's asleep, for the time being.

[ She doesn't have cooties, Jade, it's okay. Ikki will just swing their clasped hands between them, humming beneath her breath. She stares up at him as he talks, wide-eyed and taking every word in - she has a mother ~~who he didn't kill MAYBE~~! ]

Are we going to wake her up? [ That's almost eager in its innocence. ]

[His unused hand settles into his pocket. And he gives a light smile.]

We will, Ikki. But you must keep it a secret from your sisters and Ion. It must be a total surprise for them.

[And they're old enough to try to know what he really means. He can't have his daughters and Ion catch onto his plans. He wouldn't be able to bear it.]

[ The little girl nods, seriously. People very rarely ask her to keep secrets - but when they do, she knows how to keep them (Because that's not a suspicious statement).

A father, a mother...sisters, a brother. Suddenly, this day is looking so much brighter than any of the ones to come before! For some reason the idea of sisters and brothers just sparks something in her. That's something important. For sure. ]

I won't say a word!! Do I get to help surprise them?

That will be a surprise as well, Ikki. I'll let you know when the time is right. [When he's sure whether or not she is the key to The Cure.]

I'll also have to run a blood test on you, so you shouldn't spend too much time on your reunions. I have to make sure you are healthy and did not catch any vulture diseases, after all. [And more importantly, to see if her blood has developed any traces of Curanium.]

[ WHOA NOW, Soren isn't sure he approves of this, although being healthy is a good thing - but Ikki nods, as amiable as she usually is for those in charge of her. It's unfortunate that her complete and total trust has been shifted to a villain against magical girls researching Curanium. ]

Okay! How long will those take, though? Will the take hours and hours and hours or just an hour or just a few minutes? What kind of diseases do vultures get? Do you have to test Soren, too?

It will be just a few minutes. Over before you know it, Ikki. Vultures get very few diseases, but humans living with them can pick up any number of bird flus. Perhaps I can test Soren, as well, if I can locate an appropriate needle. [He'll have to decide on what to inject Soren with.]

[ SOREN IS NOT OKAY WITH THIS ]

Okay, good! I don't want Soren to get sick, either. And if it only takes a little bit...we can do that first, before meeting the family! So that I have lots of time to say hi.

That can be arranged, if you prefer that. The sooner the process is gone through, the better.

I do! I really, really want to meet my sisters and Ion and spend time with everyone...

...And what if I am sick and I got them sick? I wouldn't want that.

You're right. You wouldn't be a very good sister at all if you infected them. [He adjusted his glasses with his free hand.] This way, maybe they'll like you for who you are.

For who I am...? [ Gosh, she hopes so. There's nothing Ikki wants more in the world than her siblings liking her. ] What do they know about me?

They know that you once were baby, that your name is Ikki Balfour, and that you've been held by filthy vultures since your infancy. [He gives a smirk.] Actually, I don't believe they're certain at all that you're alive. At least you won't be disappointing them in that area.

[ Luckily she misses the implication she might disappoint them elsewhere...Jade, plz. ] Where do we live? Will I get my own room? Or do I get to share with someone? [ "Get" to share, not "have". ] Is it pretty?

[He ponders and points down towards the village.]

The house is located around there. There is a spare room for you - it has been untouched since you went missing. But you may room with any of your siblings if you so choose. And... yes, is quite scenic.
