_{[ He probably would if yes, he hadn't been doing that, but could you blame him? This was a crazy town, and even his own family was crazy with all that melo-drama! Voyaging was a nice escape, got him away, and brought a lot of surprises when he came back. This one would be interesting, to be sure, when it finally clicked. ]}

Oh? And what would the lady require?

_{[ He might be posing the tiniest bits, subtle shifts in his posture and the cants of his mouth. ]}

[She watches with blatant and obvious interest as he makes subtle changes in his posture. While he certainly knows how to flaunt his assets, she's also forever wary. Her father taught both her and Artemis well. Don't ever underestimate an opponent. Or anyone for that matter.

A second or two later, she quirks an eyebrow.] What do you have to offer?

Interesting conversation about far away places - which goes quiet well over dinner, I find.

[She purses her lips, pretending to consider his awful for a few seconds longer than necessary. She has every intention of accepting. But it's more fun to make boys sweat, even if it's just a little.]

Madame, I was raised a gentleman, and am a Captain.

_{[ He rears back the tiniest bit, offended, like some great stallions whose beauty was questioned. ]}

[Her smile widens in genuine amusement. And while he rears back, she can't help but take a few steps forward. Enough to run the fletching of an arrow down his chest.]

Not too much of a gentleman, I hope.

_{[ He raised a brow, but had to smile at the other. She really was a flirty, thing, wasn't she? And he would be rude not to return her attentions. He never liked hurting a lady's feelings. ]}

I am a modern gentleman, Miss Barton, I assure you.

_{[ He reached up, stilling the fletching of her arrow, thumb rubbing through the feathers as he watched her, slowly heading down to brush her hand. ]}

[Her eyes flickered down to where his thumb now rested against her hand. A modern gentleman, huh?

Oh, she could work with that.

She chewed on her lip thoughtfully for a moment before looking back up at him, smiling flirtatiously. She took a step closer, so very few inches remained between them.]

And just how modern are we talking?

Well, let's just say there won't be a chaperone.

_{[ He grinned with a wicked little glint in his eye, head cocked just a bit and his thumb stroked her hand. ]}

[A pleased look flashed in her eyes at his response. Daring captain just blown into town. Completely unaware of who she was, of the family she came from. It was exhilarating, really. Just the sort of rush that Katniss lived for lately.

She tilted her head and smiled oh-so-sweetly.] We don't have a chaperone now. Consider this a down payment for lessons.

[And with that, she pressed her lips against his in a kiss.]

_{[ He opened his mouth respond with some sort of quip, but she was to fast. Her mouth was on his and he was rather glad he had not gotten the chance to speak after all. His arms slid around her curvy waist, tugging her closer, the arrow between them, fletching tickling him through his shirt as he kissed her back. He wasn't bad at it either, if he did say so himself, and any number of women with broken hearts across the seas. ]}

[She wasn't looking for a broken heart, only a good time. That thrill of flirting with danger. She knew full well that her father wouldn't approve of any kind of dalliance with a sea captain. And that made kissing the boy all the more fun.

Even as the fletching of the arrow tickled her as well, she ignored it in favor of deepening the kiss.]

_{[ Well, she was a feisty one, wasn't she? Not that he minded in the least. He hummed, keeping her close as he met her kiss, though a part of him wondered if he shouldn't really know her. She had hinted he might, but what did it matter? She was gorgeous and he was kissing her, so was there much else to think about?}

He pulled back, his lips spread in a cocky grin. ]

Shall we retire somewhere a bit more private? And less likely to get us shot at with an arrow?

_{[ He held up said arrow, brushing the feathers against her cheek. ]}

[She giggled, coy and not the least bit bashful. As the feathers tickled her cheek, she reached out to place a hand over his and still the actions. Though she had to give him credit: the action had been cute. And he was a damn good kisser.]
