Summary: When Gai discovers that Specialist Davis himself is paying a visit to the village, he decides it's time to discuss a few things with several people.
Rating: Shouldn't be more than PG-13 at most.

[It didn't take long for word of Specialist Davis and Carol being in Luceti to reach Gai, given how nosy he is about the goings-on in the village. He's not entirely surprised; Davis does seem to have almost a personal stake in this enclosure given some of the things he's said and done before, but at the same time the fact that he's here (and injured, to boot) sets off a few alarm bells in Gai's mind given what he's learned about the man from Law.

He isn't going to approach them, not yet. Instead, he just tails them quietly for a while, observing what they're up to, noting the distance that they keep between them. They seem calm rather than in a hurry, almost as if they're just killing time. Perhaps they are. When a half-hour or so of following them around doesn't net any results, Gai decides that it's time to go drop in on someone who might have more of an idea as to what is currently going on.

It's only a matter of fifteen minutes or so after that before he's knocking on the door to House 22, hoping that Law isn't off on a shift at the clinic right now.]

[Murmuring quietly as he knows that look:] Shikamaru, Mister Albert, Miss Raine, and Miss Sheena.

[Everyone he mentioned earlier.]

[Of course. He didn't know why he'd believed there might be more considered among "them".

The fact that he felt a bit separated from this was likely hitting upon usual paranoid tendencies.]

Yeah.

[He knows, partner. He's trying to get you into it.]

Why don't we each call one or two people over? Probably faster that way.

[Itachi reaches into his shirt and pulls out his own journal, laying it in his lap to let them know that he can help with this too if need be.]

I'll contact Albert.

[He knows the man and has shared information with him before, so it won't be out of the blue.]

[deathsdoctor]

I'll call Miss Raine. Why don't you call Miss Sheena, Itachi, and whoever's finished first can call Shikamaru.

[He and Raine talk, so there's that, and Sheena likes Itachi. All of them know Shikamaru so it doesn't matter who makes that call.]

[endgames]

[NO NEED AND NEVER FEAR. Mostly because he's already at the door. Knock-knock.]

[Setting the journal aside momentarily, Itachi stands to answer the door.

Opening it to find Shikamaru's familiar blur leaves the ninja blinking in surprise, and he nods a simple greeting before opening the door further to let him in.]

Contacting Shikamaru will not be an issue, it seems.

[Shikamaru returns the nod. Poking his head in before stepping inside, Itachi's comment makes more sense with what he sees.]

Seems we had the same idea.

[voidseeing]

Good, that saves us the trouble.

[Gai nods his own off-handed greeting, journal open as he pens a message to Albert.]

[Raising a hand before he finishes his own message to Raine.]

Great timing.

[Also prepare to be mugged by the cats, Shikamaru. All the people have attracted them.]

You've talked to our visitors yet?

[endgames]

Saw them this morning. Who else are we getting?

[Itachi, for his part, knows of the others but isn't aware of all their full names, so he leaves that response to the others as he heads to the kitchen to start preparing beverages for everyone.

He'll contact Sheena once that's taken care of.]

Albert Silverberg, Raine Sage, and Sheena Fujibayashi.

[He'll just wander after Itachi to grab the food he made for their lunch. Which happens to be a ton of onigiri, various fillings, including seaweed.

They might as well share it.

It won't be enough for everyone, so he'll set out some fruit and edamame as well.]

Any suggestions for anyone else we should invite?

[Message sent, Gai shuts his journal and wanders over to take a seat on the couch. He's been on his feet all morning and it's been wearing him down a bit, not that anyone other than Law would realize this.]

[endgames]

Leonhardt would be good.

[Who is gone, but if news of his disappearance has gone out, Shikamaru hasn't seen it or me.]

He went home.

[From the kitchen.]

A girl announced it on the nineteenth.

[voidseeing]

I've left a message for Albert; he should be on his way shortly.

[Something to drink would be greatly appreciated here. He might nibble on the food in a bit, but he'd like the chance to surreptitiously take a couple of the antiviral pills first.]

[With a tray of tea and water set down, Itachi turns once again to his journal to send a quick message to Sheena, making sure to include the names of the others so that it doesn't seem strange to get a note from him out of the blue.]

[Trotting in right after with the food.

Well it takes a couple trips, but Law manages to get the bowl of edamame, fruit plate, and platter of onigiri on the coffee table. Pointing:]

Those have umeboshi, those have seaweed, those have mackerel, and those have tuna.

[endgames]

[Figures he would miss it. He missed Tony going too. He doesn't have much to say, though he eyes the crystals growing on Gai's face once, but he takes them up on the onigiri anyways.

All that's left is to wait, huh?]

[voidseeing]

[Go ahead and look, Shikamaru, Gai honestly doesn't mind. No point in hiding it; that won't make it go away, after all.

As for himself, he snags a cup of tea and sips at it while he waits.]

[It should be no surprise that Sheena gets there first - the houses aren't even that far apart from each other. She actually stands outside for a minute before just knocking.

And whoever answers:]

I didn't know if you guys wanted some kinda special signal. [With the mixture of serious and 'this is insane' that Luceti requires.] What is this, some kinda meeting of the disgruntled people club?

I think we'll be making one pretty soon.

[Law will be answering the door this time.]

... now who could be disgruntled with tea? [Wait. No. Don't answer.] Think of it more as the 'what in hell is going on with the Malnosso now' society.
