What: The Cultural Fair
When: June 5th- 12th - admittedly dates are sort of nebulous - set up could have begun as early as the 5th, but given the event recently, more days could have been taken to do it and for people to involve themselves, so it probably "officially" starts a little later (by the 8th at the very least, though work can go on throughout it) - feel free to use your judgement/have fun!
Where: All around the town square!

Notes: Booths can be labeled as separate comments! Just put [booth name] or something in the subject line so people can find top level comments easier.

Work probably started for it on the 5th-7/8th for labor purposes, though feel free to use dates to your advantage here! (Even if characters slapdash something at the last minute, it would be fun to see! It would even be encouraged after the crazy from the last event - kind of a way to get back in touch with themselves.)

CHARACTERS ARE WELCOME TO TAG THE LOG FOR INTERACTING WITH OTHERS, NOT JUST BOOTHS, SO FEEL FREE TO TAG IN! Also a character who might not know what's going on is welcome to walk by and question it! And so forth. (Helios and Ikki made posts in regard to it and there have been art club posters around, so anyone could have noticed those as well!)

I'll leave descriptions up to you all as there isn't much that is too uniform about the displays, as everyone is encouraged to be creative about their presentations and how hard the characters worked isn't something I could define for each of you. Just keep in mind that this takes place in the plaza, there shouldn't be an issue with blocking traffic (there may be ropes up to try and keep pathways clear, however!), though it may branch around various points of the square depending on where someone wants a booth located / the number of actual participants. The square will also have a lot of brightly colored signs and decorations indicating what is going on!

[Like someone like her could be invisible to Masaomi. Or so he thinks very early on upon seeing her out of the corner of his eye. He grins, and saunters over to get in step next to her. Not saying anything but]

Yeah, I read about it! When Katara got it, we got a book on 'em. ...I hope he never has to, though. Do you think it hurts?

Oh, evolving...right, Masaomi said Soren used to be another pokemon. I've never seen anyone evolve, though.

[ Soren accepts the attention equally happily, preening a little bit. Yes, good! ] It's nice to meet you both! And yep! I've only met Kyle and Linda of the other three...I think the third one is partners with another girl, though.

We are raised to lead by example, yeah. But anyone can be powerful if they try hard enough.

[He has to believe this, anyway.]

I haven't met Mako. Is he here?

[ Ikki quiets down to follow along, almost immediately. To those used to her normally loud and energetic state, it might seem odd - but she's always been capable of controlling herself for practice, for airbending. This isn't that, but it's easy to slip into the mindset of being a student once again, positioning herself as her teacher says - her father, her grandfather. This girl.

The fact that she's grown up with the acrobatic martial arts requisite for airbending probably helps this a little, and while she's taking her time on each point, she at least doesn't feel completely at sea. It's sort of fun, even! ]

[ When he does spot her, he won't alert his trainer only because she's about to go through - and besides, he doesn't think this woman is dangerous...though he's keeping an eye on you, mysterious stranger!

Ikki, for her part, slams her palms forward to send a blast of air at the gates. She laughs when they start spinning - though of course that was the point before taking a few steps and going into the storm of wood and wind. Don't rush, don't focus on the gates too much, just focus on the wind - the wind that could find the way through the gates, because it would wind its way through. Just be the wind, or a leaf on the wind, and...

...out the other side you'd go. ]

[..okay wow, that is awesome and deserves accolades. Makie peels herself away from the trees and comes out into the open.]

Oh, of course! [He puts on a teasing grin.] My foster mother, she has the most amazing ability... to make a killer sauerkraut!

Elizabeth walks over and peers at the pony in a hat, her eyes twinkling in an odd way.

"So a horse in a dress knows the cards? Or do you divine fate through some other method?"

Jack's dirty back-alley rum-soaked box. With shells on it.

"...Are you for reals trying to make this game fly again, hun?"

She strolled on by -- at some point during the day, at least. Possibly after visiting with Ikki's starfish. And she was smiling. In fact, Buffy's been smiling rather a lot since the brunt of the possessions had been shaken. Lately, it had been as though a grand weight had been lifted from her shoulders.

"Because I think I'm still apologizing for last year..."

[The comment about the costume barely gets a blink from him. He's heard it all before. Besides, the costume in question is different from his and a little strange looking on sight.

He glances Kurt over curiously.] Oh, really? How do you figure that?

"I think you might be thinking of the Empire State Building. It's located in New York." He rifles through a couple of the sketches until he finds the one he's looking for. It's a large sketch of the Empire State Building.

"This is it. It's known for being one of the tallest towers in the city."

So I've heard. I never got a chance to make it that far across the country before I was brought here. I hope to see it someday though.

[His history is so well known back home that even after months of being in Luceti it's strange having people ask him about himself.]

It's not that I mind. I just...I'm not sure where to even begin.

[He glances over at the sketch she was staring at.]

That's Stark Tower. It was a complex building. Tony Stark, the owner, stayed there when he was in New York.

[Steve glances up at Saori's approach and smiles. It has been awhile since he's seen the goddess, making her a welcome sight.]

I'm afraid I don't. Unfortunately it slipped my mind or I would have placed an order with the bakery.

[Steve looks up from shuffling some of his other sketches around and nods at the new arrival.]

Baseball. Well, a part of it anyways. I'm showing people how to fulfill the position of batter. In short, someone throws the ball and the person with the bat needs to hit it past that person.

[Don was not expecting to see a kid and a flying monkey in this funhouse obstacle course. Neither seems to notice that they have company, so as Aang moves obliviously into Don's path, the Turtle calls out:]

Hey! Watch --

[And then he stumbles backwards, his body tingling strangely as he falls literally through the gates.]

[Well. At least now he knows it's another illusion.]

[ Helios knows that greeting from anywhere, and while he's busy making another brightly glowing magical creature out of magic he'll smile and look up briefly. ]

Ah! Fuuko, it's nice to see you here and about. I'm glad they caught your eye, that was the point after all. [ Helios will laugh lightly as he lets the tiny blue and white iridescent pegasus free to take off from his table and into the sky. ]

Ah well, I thought America needed apple pie, baseball, and hot-dogs to be truly American. [Oh...how silly you are Saori.] What position do you like best, Steve?

[Baseball. Right. He thinks he's heard about that. Some exchange kids might've mentioned it.]

So it kind of is like cricket then? I'd wondered. What other kinds of games do you play. In America, I mean. We don't hear all that much from over there.
