What: The Cultural Fair
When: June 5th- 12th - admittedly dates are sort of nebulous - set up could have begun as early as the 5th, but given the event recently, more days could have been taken to do it and for people to involve themselves, so it probably "officially" starts a little later (by the 8th at the very least, though work can go on throughout it) - feel free to use your judgement/have fun!

Notes: Booths can be labeled as separate comments! Just put [booth name] or something in the subject line so people can find top level comments easier.

Work probably started for it on the 5th-7/8th for labor purposes, though feel free to use dates to your advantage here! (Even if characters slapdash something at the last minute, it would be fun to see! It would even be encouraged after the crazy from the last event - kind of a way to get back in touch with themselves.)

CHARACTERS ARE WELCOME TO TAG THE LOG FOR INTERACTING WITH OTHERS, NOT JUST BOOTHS, SO FEEL FREE TO TAG IN! Also a character who might not know what's going on is welcome to walk by and question it! And so forth. (Helios and Ikki made posts in regard to it and there have been art club posters around, so anyone could have noticed those as well!)

I'll leave descriptions up to you all as there isn't much that is too uniform about the displays, as everyone is encouraged to be creative about their presentations and how hard the characters worked isn't something I could define for each of you. Just keep in mind that this takes place in the plaza, there shouldn't be an issue with blocking traffic (there may be ropes up to try and keep pathways clear, however!), though it may branch around various points of the square depending on where someone wants a booth located / the number of actual participants. The square will also have a lot of brightly colored signs and decorations indicating what is going on!

[There are so many things she could say, both to his comments and that he had put on that smirk she had seen a number of times before, though not when she was with Frey. Instead she breathes in and lets it out slowly, focusing on the question instead.]

There are a number of things that look interesting, we only just arrived so I hope you'll forgive us that we can't give much opinion yet.

Resist he did. "Are you ready to give in yet, my precious darling? Or are you willing to chase me all the way to the treehouse?" Because he figured that was about as far as he was willing to run.

"You think you'll last that long?"

Oh God, she was doing it again. Jack's knees felt weak. "Mmhmm."

She gave him a light nudge, as if to let him go.

"You should take a head-start; you'll need it."

There he went -- rabbiting through two cultural fair stalls and over a cartload of watermelons, quick as you please. Fleet like a semi-drunk deer. Noble and strong and quick and running like hell itself hath spat him back out.

Buffy proceeded with less haste -- honouring that offer of a head-start because she knew he would be hers, in the end. She may not savour the chase as much as he did, but she at least knew how to give a good one: leaving him space, slipping into the woods, knowing it would take until the treehouse itself before she could catch up with him.

That's a pity. It might have been interesting to see those major changes come about.

Where WAS she? Jack looked over his shoulder multiple times, but he'd lost sight of her.

The fact was both thrilling and terrifying. Half-expecting her to jump out of the woods and tackle him at any moment, he bolted for the base of the treehouse tree, hesitating only a moment before pulling himself up the ladder.

No, it's fine. I've just never thought to try.

[She smiles slyly.]

I might have to, though.

It depends. It could be your whole life! Isn't that exciting? It's like the longest possible story.

"Really? It's a wildly popular sport back where we're from." Although depending on how strictly those who organized it had attempted to be, Pepper could see where things could go wrong. "Did you try playing, or did you hear about it after?"

Her eyebrow quirked upward as he questioned what she was questioning. "Unmanned as in unattended. Abandoning your post. I'm sure your shells are very masculine as far as seashells go."

It was. Luckily we were able to get a handle on it before a lot more damage was done.

I'm always interested in hearing more about other worlds, especially those my friends come from. It helps to better understand the people here, and acknowledge where our differences are. [Or so her way of thinking of it had come to be, truthfully she also sought out patterns for what they all had in common that they were brought into this enclosure.]

Computers? You mean those devices others sometimes petition the Malnosso for?

Yet you trust this oddly-dressed stranger's words. What's more, you idolize him and dress yourself in his clothes as a celebration of your world's culture.

Loki may have seen the bigger game, but Pepper saw Tony in the grips of panic. She saw their relationship falling to pieces because when he thought of New York, terror gripped him. She saw everything that had happened in the days and hours just before they'd been pulled back to Luceti, ending in flames and the sense that she was falling, dying, burning in those last few moments of life she had left--

"I guess I keep hoping you might give a different answer. One that I would like." But he had made it clear before too, hadn't he? The invasion was necessary. Some things were regrettable but Loki didn't regret the whole, didn't seem to care that lives were lost or altered irrevocably by his actions.

"We're the ones who have to live with the consequences of what you did." Tony, Natasha, Steve--all of them. Everyone except her, who no longer had a life to go back to, and that made it all so much worse. "That's why it's so important to me."

"It's at least better than Plastic Man?" Yeah, she's got nothing. "They're superheroes. Most of them pick names to be intimidating, or something like that."

"That's cool. I'll have to see if I can catch it." Rituals were always interesting, not only for the ceremony but also the results. "And trust me. Not everyone on my team has powers, but they don't need them to do great things. You're the same way."

Via modes mysterious and downright unnatural, Buffy was nearly already there. Only she'd avoided the conventional route, as well as the ladder, and had opted to climb her way into the tree canopy quite a few trunks down from the house. From there, it had been a number of precarious hops and leaps and manoeuvres until she'd reached her goal.

Buffy paused. She could hear the sounds of someone ascending. Muffling her own movements -- and suddenly now missing her shirt -- she crawled onto the treehouse's roof. And waited.
