What: The Cultural Fair
When: June 5th- 12th - admittedly dates are sort of nebulous - set up could have begun as early as the 5th, but given the event recently, more days could have been taken to do it and for people to involve themselves, so it probably "officially" starts a little later (by the 8th at the very least, though work can go on throughout it) - feel free to use your judgement/have fun!

Notes: Booths can be labeled as separate comments! Just put [booth name] or something in the subject line so people can find top level comments easier.

Work probably started for it on the 5th-7/8th for labor purposes, though feel free to use dates to your advantage here! (Even if characters slapdash something at the last minute, it would be fun to see! It would even be encouraged after the crazy from the last event - kind of a way to get back in touch with themselves.)

CHARACTERS ARE WELCOME TO TAG THE LOG FOR INTERACTING WITH OTHERS, NOT JUST BOOTHS, SO FEEL FREE TO TAG IN! Also a character who might not know what's going on is welcome to walk by and question it! And so forth. (Helios and Ikki made posts in regard to it and there have been art club posters around, so anyone could have noticed those as well!)

I'll leave descriptions up to you all as there isn't much that is too uniform about the displays, as everyone is encouraged to be creative about their presentations and how hard the characters worked isn't something I could define for each of you. Just keep in mind that this takes place in the plaza, there shouldn't be an issue with blocking traffic (there may be ropes up to try and keep pathways clear, however!), though it may branch around various points of the square depending on where someone wants a booth located / the number of actual participants. The square will also have a lot of brightly colored signs and decorations indicating what is going on!

I visit there most days. [She had thought of asking for work there, but Makie found she preferred being able to just relax and enjoy the environment.] I am very glad of its existence.

It was tricky: moving without sound. She wasn't a naturally boisterous person in her actions, but each one now sounded a billion times louder than it ought to be. She was trying to shimmy her way over to the far window -- that corner, she knew, was dark. If she was lucky she could slip right inside.

If she was lucky she could slip behind him and catch him unaware.

Ah, yes, teleportation seems to be hit or miss here, I've come to find out. Some people have the ability while others don't. But you could probably learn it from my world if you'd be interested? It's a fairly simple sigil to draw out and practice with.

[ He nods at that, having used the tactic once or twice in drafts. ] Illusions certainly help one gain an upper advantage. It's not all just for magic tricks! [ He laughs heartily at that. ]

Luceti can be a bit...distracting when it comes to free time. The shifts don't help matters all that much either.

[ Maggir is wagging her tail happily, letting out somewhat commanding chirps as she looks back up at beast seemingly undaunted by his size or appearance. ]

Ah good! You can have as many as you like. I have a whole new batch at home... [ He'll peer over the edge of the booth and make a slight 'tsk' sound. Though he hardly seems angry or annoyed, he looks rather charmed. ] Maggir. Be nice. This is Beast and he's a friend. I apologize. Maggir tends to be a bit overprotective sometimes around new people.

Nice to meet you. I'm Kurt. [And he carefully presents his own gloved hand for a handshake.] It's been a great talk, you know?

[It was rather hard to forget that Masaomi had very little qualms in his jokes, when he said things like that with Freyjadour right there. That stronger grip on his hand is enough of a cue to tell Freyjadour it had made Tear uncomfortable, and there's a bit of a bite in his tone, a warning for Masaomi to back off.] I assure you, it is no difficulty on my part. I am quite happy with how we are taking things.

[He glances towards Tear when he finishes speaking, offering her a small, reassuring smile and a squeeze in return.]

No. I have no interest in chaos.

Yeah, yeah. Like I said, suited. I don't have any doubts for that at all, Frey. [There's a little hand wave which might be taken as dismissive or might be taken as accepting of the answer. Really, both are true, and he leans up against the table behind him as he does it]

"It's not exactly conventional, but it's not strange for them, either. I've heard they have more variety involved this year."

He's been nothing but polite and considerate this whole time. [There was probably more action before they started dating than now, and her words ring sincere.

At least the discomfort passed on quickly, if the smile she offers Frey in return says anything.]

... Do you not want to be? [Normally she doesn't say these things out loud, nor was she one to proclaim such relationships instantly, but there was something natural about putting it that way...

She would ask more about the computers, but now she's a bit worried about whether she had acted appropriately or not.]

[There's zero hesitation in the next thing he does.

He grabs her hands with a giant grin on his face.]

What kind of question is that!? 'Course I wanna be friends!

[It was a stupid question from him to even ask to begin with. But, this seemed like viable proof to him. That his charade was working. That playing the role of the optimistic hero was earning him friends. Hopefully he could continue it. After all, Luceti wasn't a picnic when the drafts came around.]

Jack wasn't doing a lot to listen carefully. Instead, he was shuffling dried dead leaves off the treehouse floor; checking a board that seemed to be warping near the window; running his hand over part of the roof to make sure there was nothing rotting. It seemed solid; the boards had long lost their fresh look and smell and were becoming comfortably weathered, but not dangerously so.

He was so unawares.

I have looked over at Raine-san's booth. Her world appears to be very interesting. I am only disappointed that the shinobi from my world did not make more of an effort to show how wonderful it is. [She frowns a little.] Of course, so much of what we do is supposed to be secret.

"Variety. You mean elephant seals." Except the seals would look like actual elephants with flippers instead of legs or something. Gross.
