What: The Cultural Fair
When: June 5th- 12th - admittedly dates are sort of nebulous - set up could have begun as early as the 5th, but given the event recently, more days could have been taken to do it and for people to involve themselves, so it probably "officially" starts a little later (by the 8th at the very least, though work can go on throughout it) - feel free to use your judgement/have fun!

Notes: Booths can be labeled as separate comments! Just put [booth name] or something in the subject line so people can find top level comments easier.

Work probably started for it on the 5th-7/8th for labor purposes, though feel free to use dates to your advantage here! (Even if characters slapdash something at the last minute, it would be fun to see! It would even be encouraged after the crazy from the last event - kind of a way to get back in touch with themselves.)

CHARACTERS ARE WELCOME TO TAG THE LOG FOR INTERACTING WITH OTHERS, NOT JUST BOOTHS, SO FEEL FREE TO TAG IN! Also a character who might not know what's going on is welcome to walk by and question it! And so forth. (Helios and Ikki made posts in regard to it and there have been art club posters around, so anyone could have noticed those as well!)

I'll leave descriptions up to you all as there isn't much that is too uniform about the displays, as everyone is encouraged to be creative about their presentations and how hard the characters worked isn't something I could define for each of you. Just keep in mind that this takes place in the plaza, there shouldn't be an issue with blocking traffic (there may be ropes up to try and keep pathways clear, however!), though it may branch around various points of the square depending on where someone wants a booth located / the number of actual participants. The square will also have a lot of brightly colored signs and decorations indicating what is going on!

It would be bad enough to ask Aang, but the teen still had a few years to go himself before being introduced to what such a concept tasted like.

"Secret Identities." She looked thoughtful. "I can't even really imagine that. Everyone knows who I am. And my friends are pro-benders, and the avatar.."

She just shook her head. She wanted to ask about the father thing, something to easily relate over, but she didn't even know if she wanted to talk about her own father issues. "Do you have a secret code name?"

"I had never even considered it till you yourself mentioned it! Imagine! To test one's mouth against all the elements! Earth, wind and water are simple yet fire, would it not take a truly exceptional mouth to pass that test?"

She ponders a little then tries some anyways, still looking a bit disappointed.

Although, as the spices hit, he comes to the conclusion that with this stuff, it might not be too hard. The fire breathing would be easy, at least.

Well, bending isn't magic. At least not according to how it works in my world.

[Zatanna can't sense it as magic, which is enough for her to say it isn't.]

Afraid not. If you want a top hat, you'll have to go shopping.

He was good; Zatanna definitely had to give him that. Even knowing what to look for, the movements that would tell her the moment when he took the bracelet out from under the shell, she almost missed it entirely.

Almost.

"Hmm." She reached out, hand hovering over the left shell, then the one to the right, before lowering on the one in the center. She nodded, then grinned as she looked up at him.

"Up your sleeve."

"Well, like I said, it's to protect people. Families and friends." Out of all the League, very few went by their real names. Of course, her father hadn't been one of them, but there had been reasons for that too.

"No. I don't really need one; no one knows who I am anyway. But my father didn't go by a code name either."

All the bears I've seen back home don't wear anything, except for their fur! They're kinda scary up close, but that's because they've got these huuuge claws on 'em.

[Claws for mauling. Those things hurt.

Is it her, or is it starting to get a little warmer in here? After Pascal answers she starts idly fanning her face with one of her hands.]</small?

Y'okay, thanks a bunch!

[Pascal hops up and stands center stage as she gets ready to perform. There might not be anyone watching the stage right now aside from Asami, but she still intends to put on a good display.

She starts off by holding out her hands in front of her and closing her eyes, concentrating as hard as she can. A few seconds pass before Pascal moves again, pointing one of her arms out in front of her and shouting as loud as she can-]

Infernal Prison, let's go go go!

[... And nothing happens. It's a little hard to pull off anything flashy like her artes without her shotstaff with her, but she can still pretend! Just imagine all the flames building up around her. It's pretty impressive. Really. She doesn't look or sound ridiculous at all right now.]

[Cross may not realize it, but a number of her closest friendships bloomed from such instances, and she always held a sense of respect for those who allowed her that close during those times and chose to keep her near. While in some ways it might feel as though she were being too intrusive, if there were times she could help them...]

I'll try to keep that in mind... [Though guess who had also failed to notice they were still holding hands? There's only the faintest blush across her cheeks, but it fades quickly enough.]

They sound...equally terrifying. [Her smile is wry.] I'm several centuries behind many people in Luceti. This isn't the first I've heard of flying machines, but we don't have any such thing at home. We don't even have running water.

[Running water is the best luxury to come from the future ever.]

A bit of both. We have Spirits for everything, from the forest to people. Mainly the Avatar though.

"Longer than I even know." Suki admitted. "I'm sure there was a world without the Avatar, but I know nothing about it. It just feels like they've been around since the beginning of time in my world. So that's a lot of knowledge to be passing down. And, well, a lot of power."

Raine asked me if I would dress up as the Wonder Chef for the fair, so I said yes. That's all there is to it, really!
