WHO: Any and all friends of Masaomi/anyone who happens to be on the beach! Invitations would’ve gone out via a (handwaved) secret entry or word of mouth.
WHAT: Masaomi’s birthday party, planned by Shikamaru-Gold-Ikki.
WHEN: Wednesday, June 19th.
WHERE: The beach!
SUMMARY: BEACH BIRTHDAY BASH. It’s pretty simple.
RATING: B FOR BIRTHDAY.

So after being reminded about Masaomi’s birthday, Gold came up with a much better idea than Shikamaru’s (lame) sit-down dinner! Therefore welcome to an all-dayish surprise beach birthday party! There are tables for presents and food, there is music (chosen by the boys, not by Ikki), and there is a sand castle city, complete with sandscrapers, which is what Gold put Ikki in charge of. The sand castle city has gotten a little out of hand because of this.

So stop by, wish Masaomi a happy birthday, and HAVE FUN. While there are three topic threads, FEEL FREE AND ENCOURAGED to just throw up your character at the party below that/anywhere, as per always.

[Well, Korra's certainly a familiar face here, so of course Cilan (who...even at the beach, appears to be almost the same as ever regarding choices in wardrobe, save for not wearing the fancy vest or tie at the moment) will go ahead and say hi once he spots her.]

Hello Korra! How nice to see you... [...And then sort of trailing off for a second upon noticing the polar bear dog accompanying her right nearby. Huh. His Pokemon are curious of it too, Pansage in particular tilting it's head back a little further to try to look up at it better, so Cilan has to ask, indicating the large dog creature.] Oh, who's your friend here?

[ She jogs up next to him, waving as he comes near. ]

Hey, Cilan! Nice swimsuit. [ Or lack thereof. She grins cheekily, glancing over at Naga. ] This is Naga, my polar bear dog. Naga, say hello.

[ The polar bear dog barks. ]

[Yyyeah, Cilan certainly appears to be lacking proper swimwear, or maybe it's under his clothes or something. Either he's just strange or maybe he's one of those guys who's self-conscious of potentially getting too tanned or sunburned, but who cares about that, he's more interested in the dog.]

A "polar bear dog"? My, what a curious taste...it almost reminds me of Beartic, or perhaps a distant cousin of Stoutland. [Or a combination of the two, more like. Still, Cilan's certainly cheerful, so he holds up a hand--not to try to pet it or anything yet, but at least in greeting.] Hello Naga, it's nice to meet you!

[Pansage, being the only one of his Pokemon who can due to having flexible arms, mimics the gesture as well, holding a paw up in the air in greeting too.]

[ Beartic...Stoutland...er. Right, must be Pokemon. Korra just glosses it over entirely.

When Cilan extends his hand, Naga extends her snout to sniff it. Polar bear or not, she's still a curious pup. And she liked to meet the people Korra knew, too. ]

She's saying hello back. And hey, she's not trying to eat you. That's a pretty good start already!

[..."Not trying to eat us" wow okay.] I'm glad to hear that we're making a good impression, then.

[But hey, we literally shook hands with a polar bear once, so befriending a polar bear dog shouldn't be difficult for us, right?]

Back home, polar bear dogs are considered one of the most dangerous animals in the south. But Naga's a big sweetheart.

[ She barks defiantly at that comment. ]

Really? I must admit that I'm a little surprised, seeing how close the two of you appear to be. [Though, based on appearance, he can sort of see why it might be considered dangerous, being as big as it is.] Still, it's wonderful that the two of you were able to become friends with one another, right?

[ Korra pats Naga's flank. ] Sure is. My tribe wasn't too thrilled about it at first, but they've gotten used to her, now.

I see. [Glancing at Pansage as it's now climbing over to cling to his other arm and get a better look at Naga from here.] Well, we certainly wouldn't mind befriending Naga too, right Pansage?

[It nods, making a "Pan!" noise that appears to be agreement with him.]

[ Naga sniffs at Pansage. She's never smelled a creature quite like this one before. ]

She gets along well enough with Soren, so I don't think Pansage will be much of a stretch.

[Pansage doesn't mind the sniffing, it can stay still and let Naga look it over however much it wants. Cilan seems pretty content too.]

That's good to hear! After all, wouldn't it be a pleasantly sweet taste if the Pokemon and other partners here with us could be friends with one another as well?

[Cilan: clearly someone from a children's cartoon where friendship is the greatest thing ever.]

Uhh...yeah, I guess that would be pretty great. A pleasantly sweet taste, I mean.

[ At least she's not laughing at him? ]

Too bad Naga doesn't have any special attacks like the Pokemon do, though. Unless you count knocking people over as a special attack.

Well, I suppose something like that could be useful--for example, there are some Pokemon that like to use moves like Take Down or Body Slam in order to knock the opponent off their feet. [So technically that can come in handy!]

Oh, really? Maybe I should have Naga fight in a Pokemon battle.

[Naga the Polar Bear Dog Pokemon, possible moves: Bite and/or Crunch, Take Down and/or Body Slam--I mean uh]

I'm sure that might be a sight to see, but I'd be careful about trying to seek fights against them with Naga, as many Pokemon attacks can have a dangerous taste to them as well. [Especially the elemental ones or the ones that poison or paralyze their opponent...]

You say that like she's not dangerous herself. [ She grins cheekily. ] But I'll watch some first, just in case. I want to know what we're getting into.

[Cilan beams at that, sounding even more passionate for a moment as he speaks about battles.]

You won't be disappointed, as they are very exciting to see! I'd love to show you what a Pokemon battle is like someday--dangerous they may be depending on the opponent, they're also quite colorful and profound, and it's always such a thrilling taste once you've turned the tides of the battle in your favor~! [Pokemon battles are so much fun aaahhh]

Sure, that'd be great! I'd love to see you and Pansage in real form.

Of course! We'll be sure to present a battle with a dazzling display of power to it!

[Pansage even pumps its fist into the air in agreement with it's trainers words, with a Pansage! in response.]

Is Pansage your only Pokemon? Or do you have others? [ That's a thing, right? Having more than one? ]

[...Wow, how have we gone this long without introducing you to the other two members of our team.] Oh, of course! In addition to Pansage, I also have two more Pokemon--please, allow me to introduce you to them as well!

[Prepare to be amazed as he tosses a pokeball out and reveals a large hermit crab Pokemon that now stands beside him--it yawns a little, apparently having woken up inside of it's pokeball from a nap just a little while ago, but otherwise is smiling and appears well-rested now.] This is Crustle! And Stunfisk is...

[Pansage chatters something as he points down to the ground. The third member, who Cilan then finds by reaching down to the sand near his feet, and after a moment of moving his hand around, lifts up...a strange sand-colored looking fish creature. Surprise, it's been here the whole time, having taken advantage of blending in the sand and hanging out while Crustle had chosen to nap instead. It opens its eyes and blinks, shifting its camouflage back to its normal colors of brown and yellow, before jumping out of his hand to sit on Crustle's shell.] This would be Stunfisk. Crustle, Stunfisk, this is Korra!

[Crustle waves a claw in polite greeting, while Stunfisk...mostly does a lot of staring, due to lack of limbs other than these little fins here.]

[ Korra tries not to chuckle too much at the names. She figures the silly names must be a Pokemon world thing. Both Pokemon are also slightly more bizarre looking than Pansage, but that's not a bad thing at all.

She bends forward, grinning at the newcomers. ]

Hey Stunfisk, hey Crustle. Nice to meet you two. [ Then, glancing up at Cilan: ] How long have you had these guys?

Well, Pansage and I have been together for quite a long time, where as Crustle and Stunfisk were the newest additions to our team before we arrived here in Luceti. I suppose this taste has aged... [There's a slight pause as he attempts to take into account both the time they spent before Luceti added with being together here now.] ...A year or more, give or take a few months?

Wow, you've been here for that long? [ She whistles. ] Sometimes I forget just how new I am compared to most people.

Yeah... [Cilan caught them about...he'd say maybe five months or so before Luceti, and now has been here for almost a year. He doesn't really add anything to her statement about just how long he's been here (it's not really a train of thought he likes that much), but he does smile a little fondly as he places a hand on Crustle's shell.] Well, I'm glad to have all three of them here together, otherwise I think it'd be a lonely taste if one of them had ended up being left behind...

[He's lucky that he only had three Pokemon to begin with...unlike some trainers here who might be missing one, two, or even three more Pokemon due to the limit that seems to be in place here...]
