New Feather Party, Summer Edition!

Summary: Funtime Ocean/Beach Shenannigans!

It's been a lot of hard work, but the New Feather Party is set up and ready to go! A make-shift canopy has been set up, underneath which are a few small tables covered with various foods, some made by Welcome Center staff(though people are encouraged to bring dishes of their own to share!) along with some small ice-filled coolers full of various drinks. There are also a few beach balls, some buckets full of water balloons and some small water pistols (All Pilouette could find were the basic kind; no pumps here!) scattered about for for a bit of fun in the hot weather.

I never forget anything. [She grins and stands up, holding out her hands for Gai's.] You can pick me up and drop me in the water. I'm on alert now. [Elizabeth winks.]

[voidseeing]

[Gai takes her hands and climbs to his feet, his own grin matching hers.

Of course, this just means that the very first thing he's going to do is bend down and try to scoop her up into his arms. If he's going to get soaked, then so is she!]

[And she's half-expecting this, but Elizabeth still cries out in delight at being picked up and carried down the beach.] Right to the point, I see.

[voidseeing]

I thought I'd level the playing field a bit.

[He's wading out into the water now, stopping only when the waves brush against his thighs-- just the perfect height for her to reach down and splash him if she wants.]

How is this leveling the playing field? [Elizabeth crosses her arms and cocks an eyebrow, waiting until Gai stops. Then she looks over the "side", and puts both of her hands on Gai's chest and rolls out of his arms into the water.]

[And the next moment she's standing and bringing as much water as her arms can up in Gai's direction.]

[voidseeing]

[... in retrospect, he probably should've seen that coming. But even if he had... well, he still would've let her do it, because now he's laughing and splashing right back, not even caring that he's getting soaked and his hair is falling into his eyes.

He's having fun. Real, genuine fun.]

You know-- [Elizabeth hurls another hand of water at Gai.] Until I can pick you up and drop you, there won't ever be an even playing field!

[voidseeing]

Then you'll just have to find some other way to get back at me instead.

[He draws his arm back, then sends a small wave of water in her direction]

And you're more than welcome to try things out.

[Elizabeth screams again and turns away, but she gets the whole wave. Of course, the girl is trying to outrun Gai in a wet wool dress. She bites her lip, clearly taking Gai's challenge.]

[She takes a run at Gai and jumps in an attempt to latch onto Gai's chest, wondering if she can overbalance him with enough momentum.]

[voidseeing]

[Maybe if she weighed more and if Gai wasn't solid muscle, she might have a chance. As it is, he just holds out his arms to catch her as she launches herself at him, moving with her momentum to swing her around in a circle while he holds her.

Except he may be laughing a little harder than he'd meant to, which may contribute to him overbalancing and... over he goes, backwards into the water with her atop him.]

[Well, yes, she should have expected that. And now he's swinging her around like it's nothing and she's laughing right along with him. Until they go over, and then she's surprised all over again as she hits the water after Gai.]

[While they're in the water, Elizabeth attempts to bump noses with Gai before she lets go and surfaces.] I was last in, that counts!

[voidseeing]

[Gai surfaces a moment later, tossing his wet hair back (and probably splashing her a bit more in the process) with a laugh. And hey, she's not mad at him for that! That's already a major plus right there.]

It only counts because I broke your fall.

[Still grinning, he reaches up to wring out his hair, then holds out a hand to help her up.]

Oh, you broke my fall. That was a curious fall, then.

[She takes his hand with both of hers and pulls.]

[voidseeing]

[... yep, he should've seen that one coming too. And back he goes, right into the water with a splash.

How the mighty have fallen.]

[Yes indeed. Elizabeth laughs as Gai comes down right on top of her, but fortunately the water cushions them both to the point where knees and elbows aren't a concern.]

[She latches onto Gai's torso, arms around his shoulders and legs around his waist, and just waits for her victory ride to surface.]

[voidseeing]

[Once again he surfaces, this time with an arm around her waist to secure her in place as he stands up, chest heaving with laughter. He's barely gotten himself all the way upright before he leans in to kiss her, ignoring the water in his eyes and his bangs plastered to his face.

This is perfect. SHE'S perfect, and in this moment he's happier than he's ever been in his life.]

[Elizabeth loves seeing him like this. Happy, laughing, playing with her. If she could make him smile like he is now every day, it would make her the happiest woman in Luceti.]

[She meets him halfway, her kisses lighthearted and playful.]

And I suppose that one only counted because I broke your fall.

[voidseeing]

I might- [His sentence is disrupted by those kisses, which he is not going to complain about.] - be willing to negotiate this as a draw.

[And he spins around again, though this time he doesn't fall over. SEE, IT WAS ONLY BECAUSE SHE DISTRACTED HIM AND RUINED HIS BALANCE.]

Oh, a dra--?! [Elizabeth clings to Gai tighter, but her legs slip first and then she's in the water with a defeated cry.]

[She surfaces, the lower half of her face still underwater. And then there's a glint in her eye, and she stands up, slowly, and pulls her hair out of her face.]

[...and that suit's clinging problem is much worse now.]

A draw, then?

[voidseeing]

[... did you say something, Elizabeth? Gai might be a little distracted here. Who needs a bikini when that dress is outlining every... curve...

Really, if she still has any doubts about whether or not Gai is going to find her attractive once the clothes come off, the look on his face right now should be enough proof that she has nothing to worry about.]

[Ground control to Gai, we're losing you Gai.]

[Elizabeth walks closer to Gai and flicks a little water at his chest.]

Does your silence mean you want to reopen hostilities? [She grins--she is cutthroat when she wants to be. She totally wrenched a guy after pretending to cry, she's not above winning a splashing war this way.]

[voidseeing]

[HE'S ALREADY LOST, IT'S TOO LATE FOR HIM.

He's thinking more along the lines of how her corset really does not do her assets enough credit and--

-- oh, she's splashing him again. It is with great reluctance that he turns his attention back to the immediate matters at hand.]

I can keep this going as long as I want. The only question is, can you?

[Well clearly that's because Gai hasn't seen her with just the corset on...]

Oh I can do this all day. [Elizabeth pulls the suit off of her body with a grin. Too bad Gai.] I am a master of splashing.

[voidseeing]

[Now THAT is just cruel. But he smirks, and splashes a little more water back at her.]

Even in a soggy bathing suit that's going to start getting cold?

You're half-naked. Aren't you cold? [She splashes back.]
