Luceti Valley - The First Log

Summary: Luceti has become an idyllic and peaceful 50s-esque village. The first few days are just business as usual, right?

August 1st had seemed like an ordinary day in Luceti. But late in the evening, for those night owls who had not turned in yet, they were witness to strange fluctuations in the barrier. Beautiful, really, almost like Luceti had received its own 'Northern Lights', even though it seemed to come from the far east, across the ocean. This ominous light show lasted for all of fifteen minutes before it ceased all together. Skimming the ocean waters, a horde of cultists entered Luceti, cloaked by darkness. Upon reaching the entrance to the tunnels, their leader stepped inside and was followed one by one by his fellow cultists. When the last had entered, the tunnel entrance closed. Across the mountains, the entrance to the tunnels in the village did the same.

Midnight passed without incident, but by three in the morning, the change suddenly came. Minds were altered, forms were changed, and buildings sprang from nowhere.

Much later, on August 2nd, morning settled on a changed village, the new mayor made his way to his mansion with his pair of adorable dobermans at either side of him. The sun shined bright. It was a good day to be a Lucetian.

Note: There will be a stand alone log for the homecoming dance. There will be another log for the second stage of the event.

Look, I dated that first guy... Jack's friend.... He stared at my breasts the entire meal and talked about his golf swing. It was horrible.

He was one of Jack's friends, what do you expect? They weren't all like that.

I was hoping that my brother-in-law knew me better than that. Obviously, he's as oblivious to me as he is to his own daughters. Besides, Fayt's...sweet and snarky.

Whatever. You going to give me the tour of the place or not?

[crimsonblade]

Actually, no. I was going to sit here and let you snoop to your heart's content. Since, you were going to do that anyway.

[strangelyliteral]

Well, if that's what you'd prefer I'd do, I'd best get to it properly. [After she finishes off her drink, anyway.]

I'll make sure to have a drink waiting for when you're done. So long as you don't mess with the papers in Fayt's office too badly.

He knows what papers are?

[She finishes off her current drink, and hands the glass back.] Fine then.

[crimsonblade]

Well, considering he bothered to finish college, I'd say he has some idea, Anya. [She accepts the glass and stands to put it on the bar.] Oh, if you see the cat, pleas keep him out of Fayt's office.

And how did he afford that, I wonder.

[She rolls her eyes at mention of the 'cat'.] Right. I'll try not to get lost in your tiny house.

[Nel just shook her head. Anya's house was nearly as big as Tony and Pepper's, but she didn't feel comfortable in the homes of her siblings. This house, though, it was perfect the moment she stepped inside. There was a room for Fayt's study, a room for her painting supplies, and a large enough den for the piano she'd learned to play. While it would fit into her siblings' houses a few times over, it was more welcoming than either had ever been for the redhead.

Besides, she had a guestroom if her in-laws wanted to stay the night as well. What else did she need?

Nope, Nel was happy for the first time in a long time that she could remember, and not even her sister's snobbery could change that.]

[Anya takes her time perusing the rooms of the house, as given leave to do so by her sister. When one is accustomed to having a large house to roam through, it turns disappointing when some doors lead to small, ordinary sized closets and not any tucked away bedrooms. Spare rooms for their supplies and in laws, but children? Her dear younger sister was shortsighted as ever, and Anya knew that the time for changing her was already long past. It was just, as always, disappointing to have those realizations made solid.

After examining the last room - the oft mentioned study, of all things - she shuts the door behind her and makes her way back toward the living room.]

[As soon as her sister returns into the living room, Nel can tell that she's barely holding her opinion in. She gives her the newly made drink and waits.]

So, you might feel better if you just say it, sister dearest.

It's very quaint. It's just like the little guest house by the pool. I don't know how you intend to raise a family in here.

[crimsonblade]

[Nel looked at her sister before bursting out laughing.]

You do realize that for most families that this is a large home. I could raise children here very easily. And if we have them, I will just... I'll give up my studio.

I realize that. It just seems like it would be very crowded.
