Luceti Valley - The First Log

Summary: Luceti has become an idyllic and peaceful 50s-esque village. The first few days are just business as usual, right?

August 1st had seemed like an ordinary day in Luceti. But late in the evening, for those night owls who had not turned in yet, they were witness to strange fluctuations in the barrier. Beautiful, really, almost like Luceti had received its own 'Northern Lights', even though it seemed to come from the far east, across the ocean. This ominous light show lasted for all of fifteen minutes before it ceased all together. Skimming the ocean waters, a horde of cultists entered Luceti, cloaked by darkness. Upon reaching the entrance to the tunnels, their leader stepped inside and was followed one by one by his fellow cultists. When the last had entered, the tunnel entrance closed. Across the mountains, the entrance to the tunnels in the village did the same.

Midnight passed without incident, but by three in the morning, the change suddenly came. Minds were altered, forms were changed, and buildings sprang from nowhere.

Much later, on August 2nd, morning settled on a changed village, the new mayor made his way to his mansion with his pair of adorable dobermans at either side of him. The sun shined bright. It was a good day to be a Lucetian.

Hey, you've seen her. [She pats the wheel of her car.] You can't blame me for wanting to take her out every day.

[Hey, cars are important.]

[ Korra rolls her eyes to mask the sudden pall of jealousy on her features. ]

Sure, because you obviously don't have better things to do. Like work.

Hey! [A glare tossed out of the car, and she turns the engine off.] I spend hours at my shops every day, you have no idea how busy my life is.

[precipitous]

Uhuh, yeah, I'm sure it's real rough in the lap of luxury. [ Korra rolls her eyes. ]

[tokennonbender]

If you think you can do my job, I'd love to see you try.

[precipitous]

Hey, I'm better than you think. [ Of course, she wouldn't expect someone upper class to understand that. ] Speaking of, you still hanging around with my old laundry?

[ Sorry, Bo. ]

[tokennonbender]

You wouldn't know how to fix a car with a blueprint and five assistants, Korra. [She leans back and smirks.]

If you treated him like that, no wonder he ran straight to me. He knew a leap up when he saw it.

[precipitous]

[ Oh, that grinds her gears. Korra clenches her jaw. ]

You got it backwards, sweetheart. I dumped him. You're nothing more than a rebound girl.

[tokennonbender]

Well of course you say that. Everyone knows how poorly you deal with losing.

Yet here you stand...

[precipitous]

[ Korra takes a step closer, eyes narrowing. ]

Just what are you trying to say, Second Place?

[tokennonbender]

[Asami slides out of her car, closing the door with a quiet slam and crossing her arms, smirking.]

Okay, fine. I'll use small words just for you.

You lost. I won.

[precipitous]

And how do you figure that, huh? By being sloppy seconds?

[tokennonbender]

[Asami gives a little mock-gasp.]

Why Korra, I didn't realize you'd slept with Bolin.

[Did her voice just get louder to attract attention?]

[precipitous]

[ Her expression flickers - she hadn't, but did this mean Asami had? ]

Are you kidding? There's no way I let him get that far with me.

[tokennonbender]

Really? That's not what you just said.

[precipitous]

I meant you're his sloppy second girlfriend after me.

[tokennonbender]

Mm. Still implies such awful things about you when you say it that way, Korra.

[Asami shakes her head sadly.]

You're the one who went there. Guess that says something about you.
