Luceti Valley - The First Log

August 1st had seemed like an ordinary day in Luceti. But late in the evening, for those night owls who had not turned in yet, they were witness to strange fluctuations in the barrier. Beautiful, really, almost like Luceti had received its own 'Northern Lights', even though it seemed to come from the far east, across the ocean. This ominous light show lasted for all of fifteen minutes before it ceased all together. Skimming the ocean waters, a horde of cultists entered Luceti, cloaked by darkness. Upon reaching the entrance to the tunnels, their leader stepped inside and was followed one by one by his fellow cultists. When the last had entered, the tunnel entrance closed. Across the mountains, the entrance to the tunnels in the village did the same.

Midnight passed without incident, but by three in the morning, the change suddenly came. Minds were altered, forms were changed, and buildings sprang from nowhere.

Much later, on August 2nd, morning settled on a changed village, the new mayor made his way to his mansion with his pair of adorable dobermans at either side of him. The sun shined bright. It was a good day to be a Lucetian.

Note: There will be a stand alone log for the homecoming dance. There will be another log for the second stage of the event.

[With homecoming just around the bend, Kiki is working her socks off at the family bakery in hopes of earning a little extra spending money for some new clothes. There's nothing wrong with her everyday clothes, but she really would like to have something new to wear for the dance. As such it's possible to see Kiki racing off to the bakery as soon as school ends to start helping out.

Though she's putting more time into her work outside of school, Kiki's grades are still good. She's pleased with how well she's doing in school, but with all the work she does she finds very little time for being sociable with the rest of her peers. As such she feels as though she doesn't fit in with her class, if only because she doesn't know any of her classmates all that well. Kiki usually keeps to herself outside of class, though she does try and talk to a few people in the halls or during a break despite how she feels.

When school and work don't have her attention, Kiki can be found at home helping out with the chores. Scrubbing floors, dusting, changing sheets, all sorts. Only after the chores are done does she allow herself a little time to relax in the kitchen with a cup of hot cocoa.]

[As Kiki enjoys her post-Saturday-morning-chores cup of cocoa, she will be joined by her big brother Mithos. As he pulls up a chair next to her, he sets a box of graham crackers down on the table and pushes it toward her.]

Hot chocolate is better when you have something to dip in it.

I can't deny that.

[A few crackers would be great right about now, all those chores had certainly helped Kiki in working up an appetite. Though as her brother sits down, Kiki stands up and quickly heads towards one of the cupboards to dig out a second cup.]

Would you like a cup yourself? Hot chocolate tastes twice as good if you drink it with someone else.

[He tenses, hand on the table, as if about to stand, but...well, she's already at the cupboard. So he just smiles over at her and lets out a mock sigh instead.]

I could have gotten that myself. But thanks...I can't argue with you there.

[oceanviews]

True, and besides, what sort of big brother would you be if you tried to argue about something like hot chocolate with me?

[She's only teasing a little in response to that sigh. Kiki finishes pouring a second cup for her brother and returns to her seat, carefully sliding the cup across the table towards Mithos once she's sat back down.]

Careful, it's still hot. Though I guess I wouldn't have made it right if it wasn't.

[winds_voice]

[Though there was always work to be done, especially when it came to scraping together money for luxuries, Eley couldn't help but worry about his family at times. Even his children seemed to work hard, not only at school but outside of it. It wasn't right... he should be the one to bear that burden.

Still, he was proud to see how responsible they were growing to be and how willing they were to help out. He might not be able to afford to treat them too often, but he tried his best to give them things to look forward to. Rewards. They deserved it.

It's at some point one evening that Eley approaches Kiki while she relaxes after working. He offers her some still-warm cookies, fresh from the bakery. Though their work revolved around the goods, he hoped she'd still enjoy them.]

You have been working hard lately, Kiki. [He acknowledges.] You should be spending more time with friends. At least let me handle the chores for a while. Take a break.

[oceanviews]

[There's no such thing as a baker's daughter who doesn't enjoy her father's baked goods. She thanks Eley with nod, though she doesn't move to take a cookie just yet.]

Thank you, but it's no trouble, really. If I take any more breaks than I do now then I'll have to start running to school to work off all these treats you bring home.

[Kiki speaks with a smile, letting her father know she was only kidding as she reaches for one of the cookies.]

[winds_voice]

Hm... but then perhaps if you did not work as hard I would not feel the need to keep treating you so frequently.

[He retaliates, returning a slight smile himself. Though there is still a hint of concern in his expression.]

You are young. While I appreciate your help and am proud to have such a responsible daughter, you should make sure to balance work and play. It is important.

[oceanviews]

[Heh, well said. Lacking a comeback, Kiki finishes her cookie and wipes the crumbs from her mouth.]

Dad, it's fine. I get plenty of playtime at school, and I get to see all my friends there too. [What few friends she has, anyway.] I know it's important, but it's just as important that I give you hand as well.

[winds_voice]

[He gives a soft sigh at that. It seemed it was impossible to deter his children from offering their assistance. All three of them were eager to help... he was proud of them if he was honest.]

Well, all right. Just make sure that you do not end up overwhelming yourself. You have a lot to think about at the moment. You do not want to find yourself drowning in chores and homework with the homecoming dance fast approaching, do you?

[He hasn't forgotten~]

[Neither has Kiki!! But she would be lying if she said homecoming hadn't escaped her mind a few times with all the work she's been doing.]

No way, I wouldn't want that. All my homework and chores will be done long before I need to-- [...] I haven't decided what I'm going to wear yet!!

[HORROR. She doesn't have many outfits to choose from, but this is still a very important thing!]

[There are a lot of high-class bakeries around here, but Tsuna likes this small one because of how warm and friendly it is. It doesn't hurt that he can buy a lot for so very little. Well, "little" compared to what he'd have to spend at any of the other bakeries.]

I'll be with you in just a moment!

[Kiki quickly finishes ringing up another customer's purchase on the register and wishes them a good day, making sure to wave them off as they leave before turning back to Tsuna.]

Hello, sorry about the wait. What can I do for you today?

Oh, i-it's okay! It's good that you're busy, right?

[He offers her a small smile.]

Can I have two loaves of your fresh baguettes? And, uh, two loaves of your chocolate marble bread. Two banana nut muffins. Two croissants. Two eclairs. Two red velvet cupcakes. And... two oatmeal raisin cookies.

[Hot cocoa, huh? Without your big brother? Now that hurts, Kiki. That really hurts. Surely Kiki wouldn't mind Rudy showing up next to her with a teasing voice.]

[Gosh, well maybe if big bro had shown up sooner she would have poured an extra cup for him as well as for herself! Not that she minds getting him some cocoa now though.]

I'm fine with sharing, but only with people who know what the magic word starting with 'p' is.
