Luceti Valley - The First Log

Who: Everyone
What: The start of a new experiment... or is it?
When: August 2nd - August 6th
Where: Luceti itself
Summary: Luceti has become an idyllic and peaceful 50s-esque village. The first few days are just business as usual, right?
Rating: Varies with thread. Please move explicit stuff to appointments post with appropriate warnings.

August 1st had seemed like an ordinary day in Luceti. But late in the evening, for those night owls who had not turned in yet, they were witness to strange fluctuations in the barrier. Beautiful, really, almost like Luceti had received its own 'Northern Lights', even though it seemed to come from the far east, across the ocean. This ominous light show lasted for all of fifteen minutes before it ceased all together. Skimming the ocean waters, a horde of cultists entered Luceti, cloaked by darkness. Upon reaching the entrance to the tunnels, their leader stepped inside and was followed one by one by his fellow cultists. When the last had entered, the tunnel entrance closed. Across the mountains, the entrance to the tunnels in the village did the same.

Midnight passed without incident, but by three in the morning, the change suddenly came. Minds were altered, forms were changed, and buildings sprang from nowhere.

Much later, on August 2nd, morning settled on a changed village, the new mayor made his way to his mansion with his pair of adorable dobermans at either side of him. The sun shined bright. It was a good day to be a Lucetian.

Note: There will be a stand alone log for the homecoming dance. There will be another log for the second stage of the event.

[Cato had been in the kitchen making the best sandwich that had ever been conceived by man before he walked into the living room and saw his sister slouched on the furniture.]

Hey, twerp.

[It's brotherly love, okay? At least he isn't ruffling her hair before he sits down in the chair adjacent to her and sets his plate on the coffee table.]

You look deflated.

[Oooh, a sandwich. Patty's eyes linger on that plate for a few seconds before she looks up at Cato.]

I am deflated. Like a balloon, ya know. When's dinner?

[He just smirks. He saw you eyeing his sammich. And thinks it'll be more fun to taunt her first before maybe giving her half. Or a bite. Maybe.

He takes a very satisfying bite of it before chewing and swallowing. He knew not to talk with his mouth full at least.]

Don't have a clue, balloon girl. I'm not the cook.

[They had maids and actual chefs for that.]

Probably in a few hours.

[Patty's eyes narrow when she sees her brother take such an overdramatic bite of his sandwich. She knows perfectly well he's trying to get to her, so she turns her head to the side, determined to ignore any provocation. A lady does not beg for food and a lady does not drool.]

Maybe we can tell the chefs to move dinner a few hours earlier. Father wouldn't mind, right?

[Dad liked a schedule and dinner had been, every day since they were born, at eight o'clock in the evening. While Cato didn't think it would matter that much if dinner came early he also wasn't going to change things just so Patty could have dinner when he had a sandwich right in front of her.]

If you're so hungry: here.

[Cato pushes the plate towards Patty with a raised brow. He might like ruffling her feathers but he wasn't going to be a jerk 24/7. ]

[She watches the plate as it gets shoved towards her, her eyebrows contracting into a suspicious frown. She knows perfectly well her brother isn't a genuine jerk, but she's far too proud to accept his rare moments of kindness. It's like being coddled and she's far too old for that. Or so she thinks, anyway.]

No thank you. I'll just wait for dinner then.
