Luceti Valley - The First Log

Summary: Luceti has become an idyllic and peaceful 50s-esque village. The first few days are just business as usual, right?

August 1st had seemed like an ordinary day in Luceti. But late in the evening, for those night owls who had not turned in yet, they were witness to strange fluctuations in the barrier. Beautiful, really, almost like Luceti had received its own 'Northern Lights', even though it seemed to come from the far east, across the ocean. This ominous light show lasted for all of fifteen minutes before it ceased all together. Skimming the ocean waters, a horde of cultists entered Luceti, cloaked by darkness. Upon reaching the entrance to the tunnels, their leader stepped inside and was followed one by one by his fellow cultists. When the last had entered, the tunnel entrance closed. Across the mountains, the entrance to the tunnels in the village did the same.

Midnight passed without incident, but by three in the morning, the change suddenly came. Minds were altered, forms were changed, and buildings sprang from nowhere.

Much later, on August 2nd, morning settled on a changed village, the new mayor made his way to his mansion with his pair of adorable dobermans at either side of him. The sun shined bright. It was a good day to be a Lucetian.

Note: There will be a stand alone log for the homecoming dance. There will be another log for the second stage of the event.

Um... Did you ever have any babies?

Babies! Have you had any?

[precipitous]

[ Was he actually serious right now. ]

Do I look like I've had any babies to you?

[He shrugs.]

How am I supposed to know? I mean, you don't have any babies on you or anything. But is that a yes or a no? Or... [His eyebrow raises uncertainly.] a maybe?

[precipitous]

[ She's halfway tempted to just slam the door in his face. This was bizarre and ridiculous, but he gives her that look and it's just so...


...pathetic. ]

No - no! I don't have any babies! What - are you - looking for one, or something? [ Why would a street kid want a baby? ]

Nope! I'm just looking for a mom. I already found my sister - or she found me! So, if you didn't have any babies, I guess you might not be our mom.

[precipitous]

I - [ she straightens, still looking completely baffled ] - am definitely not your mom. How old do you think I am?

[lasthairbender]

I don't know! Maybe twenty? You look like you kinda could be a mom-age!

[precipitous]

Well? I'm not! Sheesh, do you just go around asking every girl in town if she's your mom?

[lasthairbender]

Almost every one! So, is there anyone else living here who's had babies?

[precipitous]

Uh...my mom, I guess, but she only ever had three daughters. [ There's no way her mom would have any kids on the side she didn't know about. ]

[lasthairbender]

And... I'm not a daughter. [He frowns, but he nods in acceptance. And he goes to cross off the house from the mom map.] So - not here. Thank you.

[precipitous]

...You're...welcome, I guess. [ This has been the weirdest conversation of her life. ]

[lasthairbender]

It's been nice talking to you, Korra! [He makes himself perk up as he tucks the map away.] I guess I'll... see you around?

[precipitous]

Err...yeah. Guess so. See you around. [ And she's just gonna...slowly...close the door... ]
