Luceti Valley - The First Log

Summary: Luceti has become an idyllic and peaceful 50s-esque village. The first few days are just business as usual, right?

August 1st had seemed like an ordinary day in Luceti. But late in the evening, for those night owls who had not turned in yet, they were witness to strange fluctuations in the barrier. Beautiful, really, almost like Luceti had received its own 'Northern Lights', even though it seemed to come from the far east, across the ocean. This ominous light show lasted for all of fifteen minutes before it ceased all together. Skimming the ocean waters, a horde of cultists entered Luceti, cloaked by darkness. Upon reaching the entrance to the tunnels, their leader stepped inside and was followed one by one by his fellow cultists. When the last had entered, the tunnel entrance closed. Across the mountains, the entrance to the tunnels in the village did the same.

Midnight passed without incident, but by three in the morning, the change suddenly came. Minds were altered, forms were changed, and buildings sprang from nowhere.

Much later, on August 2nd, morning settled on a changed village, the new mayor made his way to his mansion with his pair of adorable dobermans at either side of him. The sun shined bright. It was a good day to be a Lucetian.

Note: There will be a stand alone log for the homecoming dance. There will be another log for the second stage of the event.

Yeah. There a few months old, sorry about that. [The library tosses the magazines once they get to be too out of season, so Wanda does her best to collect them, when she's able.] One of them is about travel which... I don't think's an option, but the photos are just so lovely.

[She hands one to Makie, spreading the rest out on the table, covering up the more boring Macrame option.] Can I get you something while I'm up?

Oh, I don't know. Travel might be nice. [She sounds wistful, though. It's really not a good idea, is it? Maybe once more, somewhere...] But I definitely won't say no to photos. Those exotic places are gorgeous.

...there's a bottle of spring water in the door. If you bring me that, I'd appreciate it. [She slides back into her chair and flips through the first couple of pages of the travel magazine.] How was school?

[maximoff_girl]

[Wanda moves about the kitchen, pouring Makie's spring water in to a glass and bringing it to her, before pulling up a chair of her own with a fresh soda.] School was fine. You know, the same as it ever is. Useless this, interesting that, but lord help me if I don't learn it all regardless. I did get to see Theodore at the end of the day, again. [She will never pass up an opportunity to brag and/or gush about her middle class boyfriend.]

Oh, did you now? [Her tone becomes teasing.] And yet you still found time to see me. Poor boy. You two are set for the dance, right?

Yeeees. [She has such girlish delight in her voice, when she responds to Makie's first question. ] Just about. I still need to buy my dress, but after that! It's going to be wonderful.

It had better be. [But still, she grins at Wanda's obvious happiness.] You'll come by and tell me all about it later, right? Have you got your dress all picked out?

Of course I will! [Gossiping and just being a general girl with Aunt Makie was one of Wanda's small joys in life.]

I know which dress I want. But failing that, I know what style I'm going to try and get. Definitely what colour.

And Theodore, is he picking you up? [She takes a sip of water, and then smiles devilishly.] Does he have a car?

[maximoff_girl]

Nooo, we'll be meeting at the dance. [She mock pouts. After all, your boyfriend who is amazing in ALL WAYS minus not having a car is hardly something she can seriously complain about. She glances to the side, mischievously, then leans in towards her aunt, as if telling a secret.] It doesn't stop me from day dreaming about going driving with him, though.

[Makie smiles slow and lazily at that. The done thing for aunts, she supposes, is to make some kind of reprimand on not being proper, but screw that. Wanda's clearly having fun.] It's a pity my car is having issues. You could have stirred up a storm by driving him to the dance.

Oh my lord, can you even imagine? [She laughs.] Theodore would have gone along with it. He's got a good sense of humor.

[Makie laughs a little, hand covering her mouth.] A good sense of humour is always a good start. I hope he stays a winner, Wanda.
