August 1st had seemed like an ordinary day in Luceti. But late in the evening, for those night owls who had not turned in yet, they were witness to strange fluctuations in the barrier. Beautiful, really, almost like Luceti had received its own 'Northern Lights', even though it seemed to come from the far east, across the ocean. This ominous light show lasted for all of fifteen minutes before it ceased all together. Skimming the ocean waters, a horde of cultists entered Luceti, cloaked by darkness. Upon reaching the entrance to the tunnels, their leader stepped inside and was followed one by one by his fellow cultists. When the last had entered, the tunnel entrance closed. Across the mountains, the entrance to the tunnels in the village did the same.

Midnight passed without incident, but by three in the morning, the change suddenly came. Minds were altered, forms were changed, and buildings sprang from nowhere.

Much later, on August 2nd, morning settled on a changed village, the new mayor made his way to his mansion with his pair of adorable dobermans at either side of him. The sun shined bright. It was a good day to be a Lucetian.

Note: There will be a stand alone log for the homecoming dance. There will be another log for the second stage of the event.

[She's always nice to the animals, and he can tell they prefer her more than him. They do like him, just...not as much as his little sister.]

So you're brushing them right now, right? How about I help out as well?

Only if you want to! There's only these two left to brush, so if you're tired, you don't have to help. I can finish on my own.

Nah, I'm not that tired. So just hand over the spare brush to me, will you?

[Sibling bonding time?]

She quickly disappears into the stable and returns with a second brush, which she hands over to him. ]

How do the fields look today?

They're looking good! We have some crops growing, so we have a little more to harvest this time.

[He accepts the brush and walks closer to the horse. Hey there, remember him?]

Maybe if we're lucky, there will be a lot of food this time. That way everything can get better!

[ He does! Kouki is the one who uses him in the fields. Why's he doing the brushing instead of Arietta? ]

Yep! And who knows, maybe we have enough to make our favourites!

[Such a good horse. And hey, he's spending some time with Arietta right now, so why not brush with her?

...He's done with his work for the moment, too, so there's that.]

I hope so! And that way, everyone can be happy again. I don't like it when people are upset, and when you're hungry, you get mad really easily.

Definitely. That's why we have to work hard on our end, and nature works hard on their part for us.

Hm, he's done brushing this side. Kouki moves around to brush the other side of the horse.]
