August 1st had seemed like an ordinary day in Luceti. But late in the evening, for those night owls who had not turned in yet, they were witness to strange fluctuations in the barrier. Beautiful, really, almost like Luceti had received its own 'Northern Lights', even though it seemed to come from the far east, across the ocean. This ominous light show lasted for all of fifteen minutes before it ceased all together. Skimming the ocean waters, a horde of cultists entered Luceti, cloaked by darkness. Upon reaching the entrance to the tunnels, their leader stepped inside and was followed one by one by his fellow cultists. When the last had entered, the tunnel entrance closed. Across the mountains, the entrance to the tunnels in the village did the same.

Midnight passed without incident, but by three in the morning, the change suddenly came. Minds were altered, forms were changed, and buildings sprang from nowhere.

Much later, on August 2nd, morning settled on a changed village, the new mayor made his way to his mansion with his pair of adorable dobermans at either side of him. The sun shined bright. It was a good day to be a Lucetian.

Note: There will be a stand alone log for the homecoming dance. There will be another log for the second stage of the event.

And quickly. He comes limping in during lunch and starts looking for a car that fits those criteria.]

[Typically Jack was willing to sit back with his feet on the desk as he waited for the profits to roll in. But when his secretary, a lovely woman named Denise, informed him that an Odinson was in the parking lot, it became immediately obvious that this was no job for a mere salaried salesman. So Jack adjusted his tie, put on his smile, and strolled into the car lot. When he spotted that Loki seemed to have a limp, he was clever enough to pay it no mind at all.]

Well, well. Mr. Odinson, to what do we owe the pleasure?

I'm considering another Bentley, believe it or not...

Though the little devil on my shoulder is poking me about something sportier as well.

Your brand loyalty is to be admired. But sporty would be so much better. Something in red, perhaps. Nothing says prestige like flash, right?

[Jack only has to take a single look to spot the ideal care. He casually begins to lead the way.]

This here is a special vehicle. It's a limited model. I special ordered it myself, knowing that someone in Luceti Valley would want to prove themselves the best in town. I was expecting the Lord Mayor would want to pick it up, but why wait for him when you're here right now?

[It is a nice car. More Thor's style than his, though. Loki feels a stab of guilt at the odd resentment that thought initially causes.

He'd rather have it in black, though the prospect of tweaking the Mayor's nose makes a snap purchase very tempting. He knows better than to act too interested, though.]

I think too much flash might make my clients nervous. That the only one you have?

[Call it intuitive, but Jack had known the Odinson brothers. Maybe not closely, but he certainly remembered Thor being a man of his own heart. Loki on the other hand...

Mmm. Much better. [Loki walks slowly around the car.] How is this one for power?

[Jack lovingly strokes the hood, as if he's contemplating how sad it will be to lose it.]

Three hundred horse power. This baby will get you where you want to be if you're in a hurry to get there. But more than that, its as smooth a ride as you could hope for. Even at top speed, she only purrs.
