Luceti Valley - The First Log

Summary: Luceti has become an idyllic and peaceful 50s-esque village. The first few days are just business as usual, right?

August 1st had seemed like an ordinary day in Luceti. But late in the evening, for those night owls who had not turned in yet, they were witness to strange fluctuations in the barrier. Beautiful, really, almost like Luceti had received its own 'Northern Lights', even though it seemed to come from the far east, across the ocean. This ominous light show lasted for all of fifteen minutes before it ceased all together. Skimming the ocean waters, a horde of cultists entered Luceti, cloaked by darkness. Upon reaching the entrance to the tunnels, their leader stepped inside and was followed one by one by his fellow cultists. When the last had entered, the tunnel entrance closed. Across the mountains, the entrance to the tunnels in the village did the same.

Midnight passed without incident, but by three in the morning, the change suddenly came. Minds were altered, forms were changed, and buildings sprang from nowhere.

Much later, on August 2nd, morning settled on a changed village, the new mayor made his way to his mansion with his pair of adorable dobermans at either side of him. The sun shined bright. It was a good day to be a Lucetian.

Note: There will be a stand alone log for the homecoming dance. There will be another log for the second stage of the event.

[Unlike most, if not all of the lower classmen (her brother included most definitely), Rhyme doesn't hold any kind of ill will towards the higher class. The amount of money they have and their way of living are unfathomable, yes, but not enough to make her hate them or dislike them in any way, even with the wages and work safety as poor as they can be down here.

Besides, Rhyme is content with how she and her brother live, even if they are on the streets. She's happy as long as Beat's safe and with her. Not even her ruined, bandaged hands can bring her down.

As she walks along the streets of Lowtown today, she spots Riku almost instantly when she turns a corner, his outfit making him stick out like a sore thumb. She wonders briefly what a higher classman is doing down here though she doesn't question it long before she quickly walks over to him to warn him]

Excuse me, Sir? You probably shouldn't be walking around here by yourself. Especially with the strike going on at the factory. [It's a bit more dangerous than usual]

[Oh, a kid? At the sound of her voice, Riku looks down and... winces. Wow, are those bandaged hands? And those clothes...

Man, how can she even stand it?]

Hey, don't worry about me. If people start getting too rowdy, I know how to defend myself; I just hope I don't have to.

I hope you don't have to either. But I'm not sure how easy it'd be to avoid with how things are right now... [If today is a good day though the most he'd get are nasty looks but there's never any way to tell. She's glad he can defend himself but to be safe.. ]

Would it be all right if I walked with you for a little? If you're looking for something or someone, maybe I can help you. [The people in Lowtown know her for the most part so being with him might grant him some protection, like how it is when Tsuna comes down to visit though he comes down more often and is a close friend]
