August 1st had seemed like an ordinary day in Luceti. But late in the evening, for those night owls who had not turned in yet, they were witness to strange fluctuations in the barrier. Beautiful, really, almost like Luceti had received its own 'Northern Lights', even though it seemed to come from the far east, across the ocean. This ominous light show lasted for all of fifteen minutes before it ceased all together. Skimming the ocean waters, a horde of cultists entered Luceti, cloaked by darkness. Upon reaching the entrance to the tunnels, their leader stepped inside and was followed one by one by his fellow cultists. When the last had entered, the tunnel entrance closed. Across the mountains, the entrance to the tunnels in the village did the same.

Midnight passed without incident, but by three in the morning, the change suddenly came. Minds were altered, forms were changed, and buildings sprang from nowhere.

Much later, on August 2nd, morning settled on a changed village, the new mayor made his way to his mansion with his pair of adorable dobermans at either side of him. The sun shined bright. It was a good day to be a Lucetian.

Note: There will be a stand alone log for the homecoming dance. There will be another log for the second stage of the event.

[All he knows is that the rhythm of his heart feels unusually steady. In a comforting way. He's glad to have her guidance towards the nurse's office and just follows her lead the whole way, keeping his hand held onto hers.]

[The blush never has time to fade from Rue's face. Her heart flutters uncontrollably, because written into his grasp is a sureness that she is guiding him along. How can she feel that? Maybe she's making it all up. But this is all she could ask for, even so close to the dance.

She would never use Mytho's injuries to lead into talk of homecoming, though. A high schooler like him would never want to ask her anyway. So she takes him to the nurse and sits there with him until it's his turn.]

[He sits quietly, waiting, releasing her hand in the process. But he thinks over where he's heard her name.]

Rue... You dance.

Ah- yes. So do you. [His dancing always seemed so empty, though. Like he enjoyed it but only from afar.]

That's true. It is something that we both do, isn't it?

We practice at the same dance studio. [He knew that, he must have known that. What a silly thing to say.] You must...enjoy it as much as I do.

We do.

I can't tell for sure whether or not we enjoy it the same amount. [Then, quickly.] But I can tell you enjoy it.

Oh. Well, if it's worth anything at all to you, I think you enjoy it too.

I like hearing that.

I do.

Well good. You're gifted at it, too.

[Obviously Rue has to wait while the nurse addresses whatever Mytho's problems are; she stands in the hallway with her arms crossed, looking serious and stern. In the event that the bullies decided to come past.]

[He just gives a nod of confirmation before he's called to be looked over by the nurse. He comes up some minutes later, all patched up and maybe with an ice pack or two. He pauses a moment before he looks towards Rue.]
