Luceti Valley - The First Log

Summary: Luceti has become an idyllic and peaceful 50s-esque village. The first few days are just business as usual, right?

August 1st had seemed like an ordinary day in Luceti. But late in the evening, for those night owls who had not turned in yet, they were witness to strange fluctuations in the barrier. Beautiful, really, almost like Luceti had received its own 'Northern Lights', even though it seemed to come from the far east, across the ocean. This ominous light show lasted for all of fifteen minutes before it ceased all together. Skimming the ocean waters, a horde of cultists entered Luceti, cloaked by darkness. Upon reaching the entrance to the tunnels, their leader stepped inside and was followed one by one by his fellow cultists. When the last had entered, the tunnel entrance closed. Across the mountains, the entrance to the tunnels in the village did the same.

Midnight passed without incident, but by three in the morning, the change suddenly came. Minds were altered, forms were changed, and buildings sprang from nowhere.

Much later, on August 2nd, morning settled on a changed village, the new mayor made his way to his mansion with his pair of adorable dobermans at either side of him. The sun shined bright. It was a good day to be a Lucetian.

He was serious, and appreciated her quest to find little ways to have fun -- ways that he enjoyed, without feeling pressured or spotlighted.

"I'd love to," he agreed. "I think you've earned it, hm?" After all, she had to keep up her strength, working as hard as she did. And treating his pretty girlfriend to something nice was no hardship at all.

In turn, his serious side had a calming influence on her and kept her from getting so caught up in being the social butterfly that she was that she neglected her studies. He helped to keep her grounded. As someone who was very devoted to her own family, she admired the way he looked out for his sweet and shy twin sister.

"I did work hard," she admitted. "I'll get changed and meet you in about ten minutes?"

"Sounds good," he agreed, nodding. "I'll be waiting." And his hand rose briefly, a little stroke of fingers against her cheek -- the kind of affectionate gesture he'd never indulged in before starting to date her, but was coming to discover he actually rather liked doing. Little things that said how much he liked her.

Bulla smiled as he touched her cheek. She liked little gestures like this as opposed to gross and tacky public displays of affection. It showed that he cared, but still had manners, unlike some people who treated the school hallways like a private room.

Before she left for the change room, she reached for his hand and gave it a light squeeze. The shower she had was incredibly quick - enough to quickly wash off the sweat on her body and nothing more. She applied some deodorant, combed through her hair, and changed back into her regular clothing in a flurry of motion.

Finally, she was ready.
