Luceti Valley - The First Log

Summary: Luceti has become an idyllic and peaceful 50s-esque village. The first few days are just business as usual, right?

August 1st had seemed like an ordinary day in Luceti. But late in the evening, for those night owls who had not turned in yet, they were witness to strange fluctuations in the barrier. Beautiful, really, almost like Luceti had received its own 'Northern Lights', even though it seemed to come from the far east, across the ocean. This ominous light show lasted for all of fifteen minutes before it ceased all together. Skimming the ocean waters, a horde of cultists entered Luceti, cloaked by darkness. Upon reaching the entrance to the tunnels, their leader stepped inside and was followed one by one by his fellow cultists. When the last had entered, the tunnel entrance closed. Across the mountains, the entrance to the tunnels in the village did the same.

Midnight passed without incident, but by three in the morning, the change suddenly came. Minds were altered, forms were changed, and buildings sprang from nowhere.

Much later, on August 2nd, morning settled on a changed village, the new mayor made his way to his mansion with his pair of adorable dobermans at either side of him. The sun shined bright. It was a good day to be a Lucetian.

Note: There will be a stand alone log for the homecoming dance. There will be another log for the second stage of the event.

She watched him for a few quiet moments before speaking again, her tone to the point. "You spoke to Bulla-san, yes?"

"After the dance." He closed his eyes, sighing. "I figured she out to hear it from me, not from the rumor mill at school." It was the least he could give her, really, that kind of respect. The respect he hadn't been giving her every time he let Sasuke's cocky attitude get to him.

He'd really made a mess, hadn't he?

She sighed as well before coming over and placing her hand on his shoulder in a rare show of comfort. They weren't very tactile. Not since they'd been children and had only had each other to rely on since their siblings were so much older than them and their parents had never been...affectionate.

"I...I'm glad that you did that. I was a little surprised that with Kiba-kun and Lee-kun there that it wasn't spread around the dance."

He laid his hand over hers, accepting the offered comfort and wanting to hold onto it. "Oh, I'm sure it was spreading. I'm just glad no one was rude enough to tell her in front of me." But it doesn't really change the facts, and after a moment's hesitation, he adds what anyone knows, really. "... I made a total mess of this." Of all of it -- of having a girlfriend, of trying to keep his other interests discreet, of trying not to make a spectacle of himself.

"I am sure that it was the fact that you would probably beat them to a pulp if they had more than wanting to spare your feelings. Of course, I probably did not help by...striking Sasuke Uchiha."

She didn't care about his interests, not after having their siblings. He knew that what had angered her at that moment had been the fact that he was kissing him while he had a perfectly sweet and nice girlfriend that he was lying to.

"I do wish you hadn't done that." He sounded resigned more than anything else, though. And to be fair, Sasuke had started the whole thing. It just... had behooved Neji to reject it, rather than going along with the whole business. After all, he and Sasuke both had girlfriends, and even if Sasuke's attachment to his girl had been a matter only of convenience, and not any actual interest... well, that wasn't Neji's business or his problem.

"Punching a football player isn't exactly the best idea, most of the time," he added. Though he'd have still retaliated on her behalf if Sasuke had tried to hit back, no matter what they'd just been up to.

"I do not care! Sasuke Uchiha is a jerk!" Thank you, Kurt, for teaching her that word. "He has no regard for the feelings of others. He only wishes for his own pleasure. It is a surprise at all that Ty Lee puts up with him. Besides, it is my duty to protect you as much as it is yours to protect me."
