Luceti Valley - The First Log

Summary: Luceti has become an idyllic and peaceful 50s-esque village. The first few days are just business as usual, right?

August 1st had seemed like an ordinary day in Luceti. But late in the evening, for those night owls who had not turned in yet, they were witness to strange fluctuations in the barrier. Beautiful, really, almost like Luceti had received its own 'Northern Lights', even though it seemed to come from the far east, across the ocean. This ominous light show lasted for all of fifteen minutes before it ceased all together. Skimming the ocean waters, a horde of cultists entered Luceti, cloaked by darkness. Upon reaching the entrance to the tunnels, their leader stepped inside and was followed one by one by his fellow cultists. When the last had entered, the tunnel entrance closed. Across the mountains, the entrance to the tunnels in the village did the same.

Midnight passed without incident, but by three in the morning, the change suddenly came. Minds were altered, forms were changed, and buildings sprang from nowhere.

Much later, on August 2nd, morning settled on a changed village, the new mayor made his way to his mansion with his pair of adorable dobermans at either side of him. The sun shined bright. It was a good day to be a Lucetian.

Note: There will be a stand alone log for the homecoming dance. There will be another log for the second stage of the event.

[Sheena jumps a little, an action giving away her state of mind more than anything deliberate can.]

Uh. Hey. Sure, I guess, what's the question?

Well...

[ Lenalee looks around nervously, clearly prepared to be told she is completely insane. She then leans closer and whispers. ]

Are my eyes playing tricks on me or is the shop standing here completely different from the one that was here yesterday?

[corrinesbell]

Oh. No, you've totally got it right. Yesterday, this was my tea shop, and today...it's this other thing. I'm not really sure what it is, or who's supposed to be in charge here.

[blade_waltz]

Really...

[ Well, that's reassuring. It means this place is crazy rather than she is. ]

But how... there is no way they rebuilt a whole building overnight, is there.

[corrinesbell]

They've done worse and bigger in a night. It's an experiment for sure, I just don't know what kind yet.

[blade_waltz]

Errr...

My apologies. Experiment?

[corrinesbell]

[Oh great. Maybe this girl was caught up in it too.]

Yeah. Uh. Sorry, maybe that was the wrong word. What do you think was here yesterday?

I'm fairly sure there was a tea shop. Though I didn't go in, so I don't know for sure...

I-I'm sorry, I only arrived here yesterday. Was there supposed to be something else?

[corrinesbell]

Nope, tea shop's the right answer. [Just got here yesterday. Sheena'll have to tread carefully.] There's a lot you've gotta learn about this place and this isn't the best spot to talk about it. All the places I know where we could've gone to talk are...different. [She's rubbing her forehead about it.]

[blade_waltz]

I see...

[ So she didn't imagine it... this place did change overnight. It sounds ridiculous, even when compared to everything she was told yesterday, and Lenalee shrinks a bit as she tries to figure out how to handle this. ]

What about the forest? There cannot be that much to change about it, right?

[ She hasn't clued in yet that most of the forest to the west is now a city. ]

You'd be surprised. Go have a look.

[The way she sounds, she already knows what happened.]

[ At first, Lenalee hopes that the other woman is joking - something that shows in how her expression turns from a bright smile to a dull, sincerely confused, look. ]

It did change. [ She sounds dulled by her realization. ] But how...
